- Install any window in a cargo or camper van with a few simple tools. Just take your time and pay attention. Cutting into your precious van doesn't have to be scary.
This video shows how I installed sliding windows into my 2008 Sprinter van that is being converted into a camper.
TOOLS LIST:
DRILL w/ drill bits (one large enough to fit jigsaw blade in)
JIGSAW (wood and sheet metal cutting blades)
SCISSORS
LADDER (or something to stand on)

Tip one i e seen a vid on thos it was funny but make sure theres no wires in the wall for lights/speakers, etc... really sicks when your cutting into your van and hit a wire. You could short things out. You could fry equipment or yourself its not good and yes a car battery can kill you.

Well done you guys that was an incredible amount of work to get the van finished so well. I've purchased the exact same van with a fibreglass roof and I was wondering did ye reinforce the roof structure before adding items to the roof and any problems regarding the mounting of things like roof rack or solar on fibre glass? Thanks in advance
Hey Paul! I did thru bolt and brace everything I mounted with wood on the underneath side (on the inside of van) and haven’t had any issues! I placed the AC in the rear where there center braces are closer together and it seemed to fit perfectly 👌🏼 best of luck! Send some pics to us on Instagram @goandlivefree
