Why You should install sound deadening in your Van! | Van Build Series Ep. 1

I explain why I spent the money to install sound deadening material in our Sprinter van during our camper conversion build. I go over how to install the rattle trap x sound deadening material in the van to stop unwanted road noise while driving. This can be done in half a day and doesn't require any special tools. The material I purchased for the diy install actually came with all the tools needed to complete the project and stop my van noise.

1 tip i think about often is having a pvc pipe system laidout through your van along the floor, van walls/struts, and roof for electrical cables

I totally agree with your decision to cover the entire wheel well. Ask anyone who puts big tires on a truck, tire noise is a huge factor.

Might be wrong, but from what I understood, once everything is in, sound deadening is already of decent level. People most of the times compare empty van vs empty van with sound deadening material applied, but what should actually be done is compare fully finished van vs fully finished van with sound deadening material applied.
I hope I explained well what I mean.

But yeah, the depth of the research can be infinite, I guess. So no matter what one did, wether he applied the additional sound deadening material or not, I guess the point is to "just do it", just build it, and start using the converted van.
And eventually get better with second build, and that's all.

Un noise reduced wheel wells alone just driving with road tires at optimum tire pressure and suspension, is stll around 30 decibles cause its acoustics and hollow frame.

We layed down insulation on the floor under our subfloor, which keeps it super quiet. Although now that you mention it, I'm sure it wouldn't of hurt haha
