I hope your planning to hold onto the Alfa! A proper road test would be something I'd like to see
Glad you went for the caps rather than paint mate 👍
Definitely bud, more durable!
You can get a new badge only for boot lock ,no need to do all that just sticks on with double sided tape.Totally agree with wheel nuts , you wouldn't mind some people think its ok to keep the key at home in a safe place .Modern cars only have them because the dealer makes a few quid to supply on options list. You could probably do the grill with that same mesh so it all matches
That "mesh" didn't look like chicken wire ... it is chicken wire.
Yeeeeeah...Let's never speak of it again 😅
@@MillerCorner In the entire history of Alfa Romeo. Hundreds of thousands of cars sold all over the world to men wanting a bit of Italian style and machismo by association. All those drivers hoping the AR will make them more attractive to women. In all that imported, heady aftershave fuelled world of male jewellery, sunglasses, chest wigs and big watches only you had the sheer individuality to install a chicken wire grill.
I like to think of it as symbolic of one mans refusal to take part in a world of shallow consumerism and thank you for setting it forever on RUclips for our continued delight.
I liked the old badge. Polish it up so it is all gold.
But a tidy one looks SO much smarter!
Lovely Alfa Romeo. Always liked a GTV! Looks a lot better now than when you introduced it to us
I hope so 😅🤞🏻
So you take off the locking wheel nuts which need a special thing to remove them, and replace them with plastic caps which you need a special thing to remove?! 😉 no hate though the caps look far better than rusty 👌🏻
Art Spicer was about to comment the same, but you beat me to it!
Had to laugh . That confused the hell it of me as well. Well, maybe because its plastic it's different lol
But if you lose the cap removal tool, just go get another one. That’s different to losing the key to the locking wheel bolts.
Loved the GTV vids you've done dude. I've got a Autodelta GTV i'm doing up, which I was going to do a series of videos on, so i'll hit you up when they're live. Hopefully be able to help you out like your vids have helped me. I love the "do it on a budget, give it a go" attitude. There's a lot of room in the world for that!
Cheers Rick, look forward to seeing yours! It's been quite an experience bringing the Alfa back to its best
@@MillerCorner Yeh it's an up-hill struggle isn't lol, Got mine mechanically sound now, apart from the timing belt (first video) then the rest is cosmetic. Which I wish i'd filmed the process so far really, didn't know anyone would be interested, but obvs your channel proves that wrong! love it man! Love the channel though dude, great stuff.
An underrated youtuber👍
Cheers bud 😁
Loving the new grill and wheel bolt covers.
Thanks Rich, cheap and effective improvements indeed!
@@MillerCorner such simple things make a hell of a difference.
your tyres are screaming out for some tyre dressing, keep up the great work, car’s coming along nicely
On the list ;)
Funny you mention about the locking wheel nut situation! Currently have a flat tyre on my drive and can't find the key!
Argh! What a nightmare!
Great vid Joe
Glad you got the bolt covers
Awesome voiceover
Thanks bud 😎👍🏻
You have done a really good job here, the Alfa looks great!
Thanks man!
The Alfa looks amazing, I’ve got serious car envy
It's been a lot of work to get it this far 😅
You should totally get an alfa romeo gtv cup bodykit
More important things to come for the Alfa!
Hi joe. Great video. AGAIN for 7000 subs!
Thanks man, we'll get there! 💪🏻
No - dont get rid of the locking wheel nuts! its a security feature! just buy chrome caps for the other bolts, make the wheel look new and not rusty!
Your doing a really good job on this car matey
Thanks bud, it's been a tough one 😅
I replaced the badge on the back of my Spider just by taking the old face off with a fine screwdriver and replacing it with a a new stick on one. Just took a few minutes.
Mesh looks a lot better! I also used those caps and they look so much better
Cheers man, really chuffed with both of them 😁
Nice work 👍
Thanks Barry
7:09 The satisfying sound of a wheel center cap clicking into it's hole. The GTV has come together rather nicely Joe, but I wonder, is it really the end of the fixes ?... will you be able to say Alfa Romeo - completed it mate lol. If it happens, maybe take it to Festival Italia ?
One never knows with an Alfa!
Bravo, sei un appassionato di ALFA Romeo. La mia GTV era rosso proteo, venduta quando ho acquistato la Brera V6
Bolt covers are a bad idea. They get stuck easily, you lose the special pliers and you end up stuck on the side of the road in the dark and unable to get the std bolt lever working over them and nothing to get them off with.
good where you changed the back signal of alfa gtv why it has rusted😉👍
Sounds like you're talking trough the gtvs filter
Can you tell me where you managed to get the new badge? Was it a breaker? Having trouble finding a genuine one without parting with a ridiculous £38. Thanks
The boot badge was used from GTV City, bud 😁
Getting there sir...
Been quite a long haul...
Joe are you planning on painting the calipers?
Likely not, but might be a consideration 🤔
Greetings from sLOVEnia east europe stay healthy stay awesome
Thanks bud, right back at ya! 😎
Lovely Jubbly, your nuts look loads better 😂 with covers on.
ooh-er!
That rear badge looks so much better, but DAMN does it look fiddly! I'm surprised how easily that badge/lock cylinder assembly comes out though...once you get all the carpet clips undone, is it really that one latch thing, and that's it?
Those bolt covers are great! I should find some for my Accent...really need to find some some center caps for, but not easy to find ones that fit as they are North-American-spec '93 Ford Escort rims, so...errr....no Hyundai center caps :P
Will have to get 4 more 3D printed from the ones I 3D modeled in Sketchup! :)
Yeah...Trim clips and attachments are a REAL pain in the Alfa 😬 the volt covers really finish it off, but finding a replacement centre cap was a challenge...
@@MillerCorner I imagine! It's always the most visible parts one has a hard time finding...
Where did you find the standard wheel nuts, sir?
I bought them from a GTV breaker, Mr Lloyd!
@@MillerCorner , always handy to know a specialist breaker, sir....
Great video, but getting rid of that locking wheel nut was a foolish move.
Just keep the locking key in the boot with the jack, whats the big deal?
Not a fan myself - lose the key and you can't get the wheel off 😬
@@MillerCorner if it's in the boot, you won't loose it.
Would look so much better in black or red . Hopefully it won't ruin your finances :p
Sooooo, you have done messing with cosmetic stuff. It is now not time to do the essential stuff like the mechanicals?. Rear spring pans rot, under floor rust, including the sills, squeaking bushes on the front suspension and of course the cam belt change required every 3 years on the twin spark
Off camera, the car's had a full service, the cambelt was done before I bought it and the undersides are solid 😁
@@MillerCorner Happy days.
7:35 Go to Poland or Germany and u Will realize people still stealing wheels 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I'm Sirius.
Locking wheel bolts are available 😉
I work in garage 99% of tec don't have locking wheel nut on there car. We take them of for good reason
Yeah definitely not a fan myself!
On Top Gear they said that when owning an Alfa the question is not so much 'when will I get there?' but 'will I get there?' As such I fully expect there to be a follow up video in the not too distant future on what to do when the clutch plates wear out or the head gasket decides that it has had enough.
*begs to the god of Alfas for good fortune*
