Thanks for the upload. I am sure most people missed this. Not many people bought that album though. Maybe they had become passe by then. Their latest album didn't light a fire for the mainstream either. It's funny that they interviewed Weiland in the hot tub.
I left that comment 3 yrs ago and when I saw you replied I said the same thing. Wtf is a smoke lesbian. I think I meant K.D. Lang. I must have not have been able to think of her name. Just a song she sang and that she's a lesbian. Wow, 3 yrs ago I was a real dumb a.. lol
@@GeriDoc8 lol! Assuming this means Roxxanne took this comment the way I did initially... Sounds a bit disrespectful. "Jeff Gutt's turn?" Personally, no disrespect to Jeff, but I just can't listen to them without Scott. I saw a few seconds of them performing "Atlanta" with Jeff & couldn't take it. Idk, Scott's lyrics were very personal and it's just still too soon for many STP fans.
@@emotionallyexhausted1410I wasn't really disagreeing with her, Im wondering where the hostility is coming from? Lol that was a dickheaded thing to say "now it's Jeff turn".. It's my favorite album they should really just break up but they want to keep making music and $$
Thank you sooooo much! I am LMFAO at how pretentious Scott is. I just fucking love Weiland for owning it. It is absurd and ridiculous, but I love him anyway.
Dbomb Danny I would suggest you familiarise yourself with the wonders of Reading Comprehension. That way, you’ll better understand that my comment was more about the Jock Rock crowd/label they disowned - “the lyrics to “Sex Type Thing” were written with that in mind - rather than a swipe at the band or its debut album itself.
@@emotionallyexhausted1410 He sounds coherent and not too energetic, I'm pretty sure he was sober here. This was just a little while after he was released from jail.
@@FRANKIEonWCin240p If you can't see the signs then you may not be someone who's been around drugs all that much. That dudes jaw is sliding to the left and right while he's talking and occasionally his neck muscles flex. He was high for sure. He got out of jail but was getting hight pretty quick after that. He did all the overdub vocals at Brendan O' Brians studio in Atlanta after most of No. 4 was recorded and even Brendan said he was nodding off in the booth. Just sayin'. They were an incredible band and No. 4 is a beautiful, mature, sophisticated album. Just a brilliant record. Brilliant music, brilliant lyrics and performance.
Wow. SW didn't look so good there. He looked a lot like he did before he died, actually. Wasn't he clean at this point, or had that after-jail sobriety ended already?
@@chucktplatt @terani666 He was most definitely on heroin here. This was in '99 b4 Scott was sentenced & went to prison. After that he was clean for about 2 yrs. They played some of their best live shows at that time. '00 to '01. Here, he was "speedball"ing, to be exact. That's why his mouth is moving that way in the hot tub. And yeah, he was on Depakote & Lithium for awhile... He was bi-polar, and tried a number of different drug cocktails (legal & not so legal) to help control his symptoms. 😥 In a 2004 interview, Scott said: "I used to self-sabotage myself right before we used to make records. Every STP record after the first one - Purple, Tiny Music, No. 4, and Shangri-La Dee Da. I self-sabotaged myself either during the middle of pre-production, or the end of pre-production, or during the very beginning of recording. I didn’t realize that it was for the purpose of creating the environment by which to bring myself to that - stimulate myself to that point where I could become so depressed in a narcotic-based depression, so that I would end up having something to write about from that perspective. And it happened every time. Things would be all right, and I would feel sort of a little uninspired, or I would be writing certain songs from a certain perspective, and then I’d feel the need to dig deeper, and I’d end up falling off the wagon. I didn’t realize it was a subconscious decision, but it happened every time."

Can’t believe how big of a STP fan I am and I never ever came across this special?! This is just plain awesome!
This would've made an awesome reality show. RIP SW
I wish I could have been a roadie for that album sessions. My favorite stp record.
Food must’ve been good, never seen Scott look so robust and well fed since their debut album.
These are the memories you remember of Scott and everyone else.

Yet another example of them distancing themselves completely from the Core-era Jock Rock label.
