I've seen a lot of fights. But Rountree's last fight vs Anders was one of thee best fighting performances i have ever seen, ive seen great performances but the way Rountree did it was simply a thing of beauty
@D D true... but i mean people fought CM punk and they didn't have a performance like Rountree did. Im just saying Rountree made it look too easy that night
@D D I agree that it wasn't a the best fight. But it was a beautiful performance by a fighter who's improving quickly. A one sided ass beating for sure. Lol
He's definitely got my respect in regards to his toughness. But as Platoon* Sergeant used to say... "If you're going to be dumb you got to be tough" lol. Him walking out of there on those legs was a minor miracle
@D D Ya me neither man. Dude that's what I'm saying. Especially that weight class... He might as well been getting hit in the legs with a baseball bat smh. 😬
@D D man nobody's been able to compete with Jones. Lol. Johnnie Walker might have a chance if he keeps developing and stays healthy. I really like roundtree as a person though so if anyone takes him down I hope it's him.
Even in High school wrestling they would make us take a hydration test to make sure we weren't cutting weight. For one reason, because it is unhealthy. It wasn't healthy then, why would it be ok later in life.
Ik exactly what Khalis talking about. When I diet and fast. My brain feels it a lot being so low on food. Even when I’m hydrated but dehydrating makes it so much worse. U could get slept by a slap easy when ur head feels like that.
Joe! I just watched this mans performance at 236....OMG!!! I know I'm not the first to post this fact but I simply had to put my two cents in. The discipline and execution he exhibited in that match was astronomical!!! I also felt that fight against Johnny Walker was a bit odd. I look forward to watching this Warriors career as it progresses. Thanks Guys.
I used to be big on weight cutting, I was a skinny kid to begin with, went from 146 to 138 overnight, one of the worst experiences of my life and I definitely am not going to do it again
Running is the main reason Thais don't break their shins. I started training after I running cross country for only 2 years (which I was average at) and everyone asks me how I got my shins hard. 10 miles was a light day. Thais run on average 3-5 regularly. And it's hard to explain something that simple to them.
@@M3Lucky anything that put repeated loads on the bones. I only mentioned cross country for comment length. But I took strength and conditioning as a highschool elective for 2 years. Track and field( mostly sprinting). And when I wasn't doing those things I was playing basketball on an outdoor blacktop. If I had to make a list I'd put running, sprinting, and jumping on top of it for developing leg bone density which is what your going for as opposed to hardness which may only be surface deep. I'm not perfectly sure about non plyometric lifting even though I did that. Also I'm not sure if Thais lift very much either. I've done more things but I don't want this be a lecture.
Truth man I remember light sparring with a thai and he checked my low kick, jeez not even full power and it was like kicking granite😂 he just smiled and say "Run run eeeeveryday"
Yup running is a huge part of it.Many trainers will tell you "no run, no fight" especially if youre a sponsored fighter and may even be in your contract. People get stupid trying to hard their shins and find hacks like "roll a bottle down your shin" but the truth is the Thais rarely do that shit because they dont need that. Sam-A or Sagetdao (i forget which one) runs between 10-12 miles everyday. The Thais dont need shin hardening "hacks" because of 3 things: Constant running all their life, lots of skipping rope, and tens of thousands of reps hitting the heavy bag and thai pads. Those 3 things over time will harden your shins like you wouldnt believe.
Think about it, if I cut 20lbs and my opponent cuts 20lbs then neither of us have an advantage. We're literally just making a number on the scale. But if a bigger guy cuts 30lbs and I still only cut 20lbs... then maybe he's got a noticeable advantage but maybe he's overly depleted and it does more harm than good for him. I know some people dislike how boxing has so many different divisions but I think more divisions would be ideal for MMA! Plus it opens up more superfights and you could see triple champs across different divisions haha
Every so often a middling fighter shows improvement so vast it's shocking. Fighters often say "I'm a completely new fighter" and based on Roundtree's most recent outing such a claim would appear to be true.
Geoff Neal and Khali Rountree are the only fighters who have made me go " holy shit he's good". Can't remember the last time a relatively unknown fighter has shown so much improvement.

One of the first organs to suffer from dehydration is the brain. the less fluid in the brain the more likely it is to hit the interior of the skull causing trauma and resulting in a knockout. Dehydration for weight cuts in the fighting industry is a problem.

Fighters would still cut weight, even with more weight classes. It can give you a big advantage.
If they implement hydration tests and have weigh ins closer to the actual day of the fight, they can ensure fighters aren’t cutting as drastically
