@6:08... Is your taxi ride in Singapore from the airport to the hotel? I've been to many Southeast Asian countries and taxi fares from international airports are all expensive.
Starting meter fare is between S$3.90 to S$4.30, depending on the type of taxi hailed. From the airport, there is an additional surcharge of S$8 from 5.00pm-11.59pm. All other hours are S$6.
I agree, from the airport to the city centre it will cost 500 baht in Bangkok, 100-150k in Jakarta and Bali, 70-100 Ringgit in Malaysia which all range around 6/7-15 pounds. defo not the 1/2 pound he was describing.... south east Asia to him must mean 3rd world with 3rd world prices. what a dumb assumption
supermarkets are usually located at the basement of the malls. And u could actually enter the fountain at specific time. People used to walk around it 3 times for good luck. The entrance is.......near the supermarket at basement. haha
There is a huge supermarket at the bottom-most level of Suntec City Mall or you could also pick up water/drinks from the convenient stores near the MRT stations. I suppose you took the train from Esplanade station using the exit near the Duck Tours, there's a number of stores in the underground linkway that links to South Beach. The heat is what makes people use the underground air-conditioned linkways, linking malls to the other malls or to mrt stations..
What do you mean not affordable?! There are MANY free things to enjoy. When an American acquaintance came over I helped drew up an itenary of totally free stuffs - Gardens by the Bay, Sungei Buloh, Macritchie Reservoir, .Marina Bay sights, East Coast park, Little India, Kampomg Glam, the list go on. There are many cheap accommodations and food options. Public transportation is cheap. We get loads of backpackers travelling on a shoestring.
@@sariel8406 Thank you Sariel for your kind awareness! Actually I meant that it is not as cheap as other places in South East Asia like Malaysia, Laos or Thailand. However, if I can skip some activities like Singapore Zoo and Night Safari etc, it will be more affordable than I expected.
Some locals says that SG is not even a place to work bcuz of very toxic work culture. I may agree that SG is a place where food is very good bcuz of multi culture cuisine. Local claims they also have best schools in the world which I disagree bcuz of streaming or filtering system without regard to the student passion or love of the subject or sports instead the system only recognize what is good for performance & image competition in the name of the school or nation. The students does not have voice not to mention time of their own choosing.
t's because there are a lot of Chinese in Singapore compared to the rest of Southeast Asia. Chinese are smart and know how to do business. Singapore is one of the richest countries on earth by GDP per capita, richer than all European countries except Luxembourg. Also, most of East Asia is very expensive - Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Beijing, Seoul, Busan, Taipei, Tokyo, Osaka etc. Much more expensive than Europe or America. That's where all of the money in the world is. Southeast Asia is still developing in areas but already it is getting richer and richer every year too. There are more skyscrapers going up in Bangkok, KL, Saigon and Manila than anywhere else in the world. in 20 years those affordable Southeast Asian cities will more expensive than most of Europe as their economies are growing so fast.
Yep I agree Singapore is one of the best cities in the world I recon. The level of standards there are just insane and well worth the money. You can see in the last 10 years how far SEA has developed and will continue to do so these things just take time🙌

It was from the airport to the hotel yes. That’s true , they are all more expensive, but Singapore was the most expensive :)
