I love this garden tour and your passion for plants. I also have had Heuchera Lime Marmalade for about ten to fifteen years now and it has really grown big. I planted it right next to the darkest Heuchera Palace Purple just like you about fifteen years ago and the combo effect ist outstanding.

Thanks very much, The huecheras are great, I could not imagine not having the now as they keep the colour in the garden all year round.

Great to see an update mate. The garden looks super. I agree with you 100% about having evergreen colour and interest throughout the year. Pretty much the only plants I have as a mainstay which are deciduous are my 4 acers. I'll forgive them their loss of leaves with their beautiful colours. Otherwise it's palms and yuccas ++. Even the bananas are only leafless for a couple of months then they grow back strong. I know you're fairly coastal (like me) so in the past (if I remember rightly) the wind has put you off trying bananas. One species I'd think about growing would be the musa lasiocarpa. They're cheap as chips. I've had mine 2 years now and it's grown amazing. With its low height you get zero shreddage whereas the others get torn up. A little winter protection with some fleece and it comes back strong. Great tour, great info. Cheers👍

Thanks very much for watching again mate. You can't beat palms and yuccas. I have missed seeing them abroad this year in all their glory. I have failed with 2 acer’s. I think the wind got to them. That is interesting about the banana. It the shredding of the leaves that puts me off.

I very much enjoyed your tour and your comments. I agree with you about heucheras. They are lovely and come in such a range of colours but can look a bit scruffy in the winter. I just keep tidying mine up. I really like your salvias too. Mine have been lovely this year, particularly Amistad, Amante and Love and Wishes. I have put mine in the shed now for the winter to protect them from the frosts in my exposed garden here in West Yorkshire. I have just bought Salvia Nachtvlinder which is in bloom and is a glorious purple/maroon colour. Enjoy autumn in your garden. All the best.

Thanks very much for watching and your comments. It sounds like you have some great Salvias in your collection. I have thought about Love and wishes as it looks great but I wasn't sure how hardy it was. Maybe it will do well here as long as it is given protection. i have a few of the hardier Mexican varieties. It will be interesting to see how they cope with the winter if I leave them out. I would imagine that it’s slightly frostier in West Yorkshire than here nearer to the coast.

Love watching your garden tours, thanks so much for sharing. I’ve got a lime marmalade heuchera and completely agree with you- I look out my bedroom window and instantly see that pop of colour from it! I also have 2 different salvias (hot lips and a purple variety) but I love your blue coloured one, very pretty.

Hi thanks very much for your kind comments and for watching. I don’t know the variety the of Camellia. I brought it from My mother in laws house about 4 years ago as it was in a pot not doing well. It has thrived ever since.

How old is your skimmia? I've just bought a few from morrisons for a fiver each. Yours looks great!

Hi thanks very much for watching, I’m not sure how old the Skimmia is. It was here when I moved in 4 years ago. it was in a very sunny position and I actually moved it into the shade. it still flowers regardless. It is quite a compact plant and grows quite slowly. I try to keep the soil acidic as it likes that.
