Gorgeous garden ! I like your dainty geraniums they are pretty I think I have to try those and the campanulas, this new to me garden has some geraniums that are huge and thuggish I need to dig those up and start again with something more well behaved! When you move it's a constant surprise as to what's coming up and perennials just appear from nowhere apparently :) Your garden is so lovely, always enjoy your updates it's looking very smart and the new patio will be a nice spot to sit and relax in.
Thanks very much for your comment and for watching. The ground cover Sanguineum geraniums behave themselves and stay compact. I have Roxanne in a pot. That can go nuts in a border so I am going to see how does where it can not spread. The campanulas like to spread but are easily controlled.
The orange and yellow poppies are called the welsh poppy (Papaver cambricum). They're a perennial species, which unlike most poppies can grow in shade.
Thanks very much for that info. They are very useful if they flower in shade in fact I have seen one pop up and flower in a really dark part of the border.
Beautiful garden, love the neatness it's lovely and tidy. Great ideas, my borders end up too bushy if you know what I mean. I'm afraid to keep things in check but starting to experiment with pruning more.
Thanks very much for your comment. I do tend to do a lot of pruning in the spring probably because I have planted too much. However the shrubs always look better weeks later and will not get leggy and fight with each other for space.
Thank you for the May tour which I really enjoyed. Your garden is an absolute delight - a real credit to you. Your lawn looks terrific too. You are so fortunate to have those brick walls around most of your garden to help create your own micro climate. On your new patio, especially in the summer, you could grow some exotic plants, like ensete, musa, hedychium etc and then protect them somewhere during the winter. A big pot of salvia Amistad would also look terrific there. You have done very well with your agastache - hats off to you! I too have lots of welsh poppies and like you, I let them do their thing. They provide a good splash of colour before the main summer flowering takes over. Happy gardening.
Thanks very much for your comment and for watching the video. I am glad you enjoyed it. Amistad is on my list, I love Salvias. I had heard it can get rather large so I am also looking at something that looks like it but smaller. I have also thought about Hedychium’s however I am put off by the short flowering period.
@@mywalledgarden yes, salvia Amistad can get big. Salvia Amante is a sister plant, shocking pink in colour, but does not get as big. Or if you do like the purple, and want something smaller, consider salvia Amethyst Lips. They should all be available from a good garden centre.
Thanks very much for the advice, I have only just seen your reply, I have Amethyst lips, it should be full flower soon, I also have hot lips which coming into full flower, They are great plants.
I've just been re-watching all your videos as it's that time of year again to start up my interest after a long winter. I really love your garden and I want to get more evergreens like you have as my garden is sadly lacking in the winter. I've been taking lots of notes, but could you tell me what the tall lollipop tree is you have please, as I also want to add more height with out the bulk lower down. It appears near the end of this video. Thank you so much for your excellent and informative videos.
The 2 tallest plants are the green Cordyline and an old pyracantha that has probably been there for decades long before I moved in about 6 years ago. I noticed it had a central trunk so I cut the lower branches off to make it look more like a tree. Sometimes you can grow certain shrubs as standards leaving space below. It just takes a bit of time and work. You can try and buy a dwarf narrow upright growing tree. Thank you you very much for watching.
Hi, new to your channel, and new to gardening. Ha ha! What are the beautiful blue flowers called please that you showed just after your little patio? I didn’t quite catch the name.
PS- I’ve been able to identify lime marmalade online from the TINIEST little photo tonight purely from watching your videos. So kudos. You’re helping this novice out a lot!

Hi, I would say it is zone 9. The problem is that although it does not get too cold here we get a lot of wet weather and that is the killer of the more tender plants.
Wow everything is looking great and your shrubs have grown a lot! Wonderful thanks for sharing
Thanks very much, The garden is getting there, The shrubs are starting to get a lot bigger.

What growing zone do you live in?
