'What you can see here is the result of a mistake I've made in the garden' 😂. That is pretty much accurate for every area of my garden.
I bought a Cordyline Red Star for £3, it's moved position 4 times and is now in a pot looking sorry for itself.
    Great garden by the way!

Hahaha These days I have tried to not give into the temptation to constantly move everything around as you end up putting plants back where you had them in the first place with half the roots left. This video could have been 2 hours long. Thanks very much for watching.

i like gardening but for some reason when explained to me in a Scottish accent; I enjoy a lot more.

Haha it’s actually liverpool accent. It’s funny that a few people abroad have assumed I’m Scottish.

Great video mate. I had a peach tree I kept in a pot and it also had persistent leaf curl. I got so fed up with it I eventually dumped it.
I've made so many mistakes these last few years trying to get that exotic look. We live and learn👍

Hi mate, thanks again for watching, I prefer the tropical stuff and have killed a few things like a canary Island date palm and yuccas. Certain plants are really proving tough as nails like the waggles, Take them away and the garden looks no near as good.

@@mywalledgarden I also lost £90 worth of yucca rigida. My most expensive mistake🤣

That’s another plant that would be amazing to have but wants it too dry than we can provide. I don’t think they would like winter rain we get on this coast.

Thanks for a great video. Question: What is the purple bedding plant growing below your peach tree?

What a great video, I've moved a red star and it's sulking just as you say, I have sat it out of the way by my water butt at the back of the greenhouse but it may not recover like you said:( I have put off getting a loropetalum for some years because I was worried about winter and how it might fair. I love the look of them especially with acers and some of the US vids I've seen of them as a standard look amazing I am really tempted now I have a greenhouse at the new place where I could harbour it away I might try one, love the garden and the mulch idea I have to do that but before that I have to grout the paving as weeds pop up every week in all the cracks it's a constant pain literally hahah my back ! dont think its ever been done at this new place.

Thanks very much for your comment. The Loropetalum is only hardy to about -5c but if you put it in the greenhouse you will be able to remove it from the issues that will kill it such as the frost and cold winds. The ability of weeds to grow in literally no soil at all in the patio is amazing. I have tried to a few Red star’s now and only 1 has thrived and it is a sheltered position.

Should never cut the fronds of a cabbage tree they are there to protect the trunk.

I have 4 cordalines, over 25 years old, around 17 foot if I guess correctly, I always let the leaves fall off naturally rather than pull or cut them, 2 have dropped them, 2 have dead leaves remaining.
