All I can grow is snow 😂 You guys warm my heart with your humour. Kate is great with the one liners. I am growing some plants inside just to keep active gardening and I look forward to your videos.
So jealous that you can have color all winter. I'm covered in white stuff most of the winter. I'm totally into instant gratification. However there's something special about watching the magic that happens from seed.
A bit of both is a good mix I think We rarely get any of the white stuff, we just get rain…. Not often the absolute deluge and floods were getting just now but frequent so over winter the ground just doesn’t ever dry out
After harvesting a huge lot of self sown potatoes I'm seeing a lot of my flowers getting close to blooming (LA Lilium hybrid, Gladioli, possibly aquilegia and lupin). I love the instant colour but I also love the sense of achievement watching the flowers/plants grow from seed to full flowering/fruiting plant.
@@eliandkate I should probably state that in each comment. The saved corn kernel experiment is doing well. I've transplanted some some to my veggie patch and I have some sprouting now in my raised bed in the green house (there's a good chance if they grow they will "crash" into the roof... but it should be an interesting experiment :D )
Great video ...as much as it gives me pure joy at being able to grow my own flowers .... I do love 'instant' gardening too .... your planters looked fabulous ❤❤❤❤
Fab vid. I totally get the instant gratification thing. Spent all last weekend planting bulbs in my grass. 500 bulbs and 2 bulb planters later, sore arms and hands, muddy looking grass and nowt to see till spring.... keep telling myself it will be worth it lol. Helebores are also one of my faves.
@@eliandkate Oh I hope so, its been so wet though up here hoping they don't rot. Great to see you both back in the garden. Missed my Sunday evening episodes of Eli and Kate with my wee dram. Though no wonder you've no been out with the wet windy weather we've had recently. Glad you're both keeping well. ;) x
The start of the vlog made me laugh, you are just so funny. It's the big winter approaching clear up, did much the same myself at the weekend. It's suddenly turned a lot colder. Loved the instant colour in the garden, it looks lovely and such a cheer up on a grey wintery day. Happy gardening and glad to see you back!
Hello Eli, nice to see your back and I hoped you enjoyed your photography while taking a break. It's a pity that you do not live closer because both Hellebore's and cyclamen have become like a weed in my garden and the foxgloves are definitely a weed. ( i have two raised beds full of foxgloves seedlings where they have self seed.) You could have had your pick. Yeah cut off all the leaves at first sign of buds for Hellebore's. (not the two plants you have just bought because they have been artificially brought on)
Awww thanks Unfortunately it’s a long term thing so I’m just going to have to take each week as it comes But it was nice to get out and garden again 😍😍😍
Lovely to see you both back I think we have all missed you, your sense of humour especially, my gosh you make such good content, great video loved it 😊 👏
Great to see you both back in the garden, you were missed 🥰 The cyclamen look beautiful & will provide some little jewels of colour in these dreary days. Take care x
So excited to see you - Happy autumn! I put out bird feeders today so the wild birds start visiting near my kitchen garden to help keep pests away from spinach, peas and greens growing.
I've just moved to the Pacific Northwest. Wondered why there was cyclamens, and the other flowers you mentioned, on a stand for sale outside the grocery. Maybe I can put some color out in the garden here. 8b zone marine climate.
I bought hellebores at Pentland last sunday 😂 what a coincidence 😂 looking lovely at my part shade front door, hope they survive 🤞it was very gratifying 🤗🌸
I to hate the greenhouse looking untidy, at the moment I've lots of brassicas growing on plus winter salads. Flower wise I've got 4 different colours of lupins, apricot digitalis and pots of poached egg plants. Also just in the process of re neting a 10x12 fruit cage which is going to have raised veg beds in.
@@eliandkate I'm addicted to watching the growth from just one seed, I love to have things growing. I've 4 mango trees growing in the conservatory . Onions will be sown boxing day. I think I might be a seedaholic.
I've got a big empty space in my garden in autumn winter and thought cyclamen looked great do they grow well in the shade? That part of the garden gets very little sun
No comment on the ranunculus name…. Sooo hey, my hellebores need to be divided as well. The research is on my “arm chair gardening to do” list. I could use a tutorial from people I trust.
@@JanRonandArthur if ours need divided I’ll shout but in the meantime time, it’s the very same procedure as this Maximise your herb growing with division ruclips.net/video/iE4l6-PE3kk/видео.html
Couldn't you plant the dahlia's into a container, then keep it in the green house until spring? She looks so healthy, killing it, awh, glad you didn't film it!, such a shame.
Ha ha ha Don’t worry I didn’t kill it They don’t continue growing here once we have a frost, greenhouse or not, it’s just too cold I could move the containers into the greenhouse or if I had another space but that’s the main issue for me… space. My greenhouse is just as productive through winter so I don’t have space in there to just store things

I love it! 😄 Joy in the garden cannot be understated and the two of you are a delight.
Awww thank you Scott.
And even better, we got our first hard frost and they are all still going strong. Hurrah!
Loved this video ❤️🌷
Thank you!! Glad you enjoyed it :D
Cyclamen are so pretty!
I love them

I saw some of the reports of the snow storms in the New York area so dread so think how much you guys have 😖
You guys are pure joy. 🤣What a gift that you share snippets of your garden and good humour with us. Thank you.
Awww thank you Lyndsey
Glad you are enjoying our wee snippets of the garden and spending time with us 😍
Your garden always looks lovely, neat and well organised, I love cyclamen also, beautiful vivid colours
The neat is all down to Kate. That’s her thing, neat and weed free 😂

I’ve already had a hard frost that would kill the cyclamen. You must be more protected.
Really?
The cyclamen are hardy here… they’ve survived in my garden at minus 7 no problems
