Yep, dials is one reason on the heater why I bought one. Couldn't believe when I shopped around mine was 4k cheaper than an Isuzu MUX and drove way better
With regards to the Prado being too soft and leaning I do agree with you. I took a VX Prado and a Kakadu for a test drive back to back to see how much difference the KDSS and adjustable damping make. The very first traffic circle I went around in the Kakadu I was was sold on paying the extra $10k for it.
Oh really? That makes sense. I hear good things about the KDSS. A bit ridiculous you have to buy the highest spec vehicle to remove the roll but at least the option is there
Really agree about buttons and dials as against all the touchscreen nonsense that manufacturers are now going for. In South Africa it is illegal to hold and talk on a cellphone but have to question what is more dangerous. That or trying to change an aircon setting on a screen where you might have to go thru menus to get to. Moreover there are glitches and reliability issues in a lot of the stuff - VW a case in point. Legislation must be introduced compelling certain functions to be switch / dial based.
I’d be keen to understand the size of the rear luggage area compared to the Prado, especially for a drawer or fridge etc. “Terrific job” with the vids.
Hi enjoy your videos, ordered a Crusade three months ago, l have had an 88 4Runner then a 99 Prado now waiting for the Fortuner. Plan on some camping trips and to tow my vintage car. Not many on the “inter web”like the belt line styling but I like retro reminders me of my first car 75 Cortina, and early 70s Falcon or even a C3 Corvette wagon😂. Only owned Toyota since 1985 so reliable, but this will be my first Diesel, hope I can remember which nozzle to pickup😅
That’s awesome! Send through some pics of your cars to my Instagram @northozphotography if you have Insta. Great taste in vehicles! I’m sure the fortuner will serve you well for many years 👍
Greetings from Canada 🇨🇦 and great show ! I own a 2023 Toyota 4RUNNER here in Canada and is the Toyota Fortuner similar to the North American 4RUNNER ?
Hi mate! Always great to meet people from all over the world. Yes, it’s very close to the 4runner. I believe the 4Runner is slightly larger though. Just like the Tacoma is slightly larger than our hilux I believe 👍
I’m dithering between this and a Prado. The Prado I feel is too cumbersome around town and parking in some car parks, especially some underground ones we have here in Brisbane. What’s your opinion?
Thanks for the comment. If you aren’t sure, I would go for the fortuner. It’s better around town. More stable around corners and easier to park. The rear door in town is way better on the fortuner. You could still fit in a 1.9m height clearance car park easily with a roof rack and a lift on the fortuner. But not on the Prado. If you want size and comfort on long off-road tracks, go with the Prado. If you spend most of your time on the road and around town, get the fortuner. The fortuner is still very capable off-road. I hope this helps. Consider subscribing and tell your mates 👍
How long were you waiting for delivery? Just put an order in about 3-4 weeks ago and told November, whether that's the dealer being conservative as I've read that the Fortuner has the lowest wait of about 137 days in the Toyota lineup.
Hi mate. Thanks for the comment and subscribing. I got mine in 6 weeks. I always purchase dealer pre-allocated vehicles so I never have to wait longer than a month or 2. I got my Prado in 3 weeks too. It might be worth ringing around to dealers to see if they have one in stock or if they have one allocated to the dealer. Id say dealers are allocated a couple of every new vehicles depending on location etc.
@@NorthOz thanks mate, I test drove a Crusade yesterday. It looked like I’d need to unbolt/remove row two as well, to give a flatter space. Or build a platform to slide over the entire back section (including row two when folded). Look forward to hearing your thoughts
Enviable color I must admit. My rear disc brakes do squeak when cold and I prefer the handbrake from previous gen Fortuner. Headlights output can be better.
Interesting. I haven’t found that in this one. No squeaking yet and I’m up to nearly 4000 kms. Thank you for your input. It’s good to know and to keep an eye out for
@@John-tk6wd hi mate. It’s a deeply subjective question. I have never owned a fire but based on my conversations and interactions with previous owners, I wouldn’t get one. I also wasn’t impressed with Isuzu’s build quality. Toyota has great resale and my brother’s fortuner has worked flawlessly for a long time and it’s still comfortable to drive. I would buy one if I needed a wagon at that price range. The only other competitor would be a prado but they can be a bit more expensive in certain trims
@@NorthOz you mean ford right bro? not isuzu hehe, the everest is ford bro hehe. So you think I made the right choice man? Im happy with it hehe. Also with the one I bought its a little softer than the average fortuner, has jbl sound system and auto lift gate so thanks man. I appreciate your feedback and I love the channel. Glad you like the fortuner, I will just embrace my fortuner, I think the everest will have massive problems I know someone who had problems at 30,000 with the tranny and aircon. So basically besides the fortuner the only competitor is prado so they are both in a league of their own thanks man! appreciate your expertise man!
@@NorthOz I love ur review on the Fortuner and how a true prado owner compares it more to a prado than a hilux, I think a lot of reviewers and car channels bash the Fortuner because they never really owned neither prado or Fortuner so they usually judge off of paper, but to be honest my gut told me to go Fortuner over ford Everest and I’m overall glad I did because ford really isn’t reliable. You won’t feel the regret until you encounter those issues. So I should stop having second thoughts because I did get something very reliable. Thanks again man love the channel btw makes me proud to have a Toyota.

Absolutely Richard. Love the dials and represents good value on the market at the moment. It will hold value better than anything else too 👍
Can you say what it cost including on road costs.
Great drive train, all the power you ever need
I don’t understand the argument of it being down on power. It has huge amounts of power. Plenty for towing and probably too much when not towing haha

20 inch rims on the GR sport Fortuner bet you can't wait to test drive
For sure 👍
Drive away price for a non white GX in NSW is $57,361.00! Red or Blue is not on Toyota web site as a selection!
Interesting. It might be special order through a dealership perhaps? Let me know if you find out 👍

What’s the load length with rows 2 and three folded ? Is it long enough for a 6 footer to lie down and sleep?
I will let you know shortly. I will jump in the back this weekend 👍

It’s not as smooth as a v6 but when travelling at road speeds you won’t notice it at all
