Alex has answered this question before. He collects non working boards from internet like ebuy or uses the ones left by customers in non-fixable conditions buying them with his money. And some of them are donated boards.
$900 for that fob? Thieves! 3-M sells a flexible shield material with adhesive on one side that you can install on the inside of your fob tester to reduce RF noise getting inside. Part number CN-3190. Nice repair Alex. Thanks for sharing.
Wow, you really are good at this. I wish you were my neighbor and I could make you a ribeye steak and maybe you could help fix my car. In the flood zone now with rain on the way. Deen the luck
Hello, I'm from Brazil and I have a problem with my Seagate 2t external hard drive. It disconnected itself from my MacBook's USB port and since then the computer is no longer recognizing it. Additionally, the blue light no longer lights up when connected to the HD. I did a test and removed the part where the light is and connected it to another HD, and on this other HD the light blinks. When I enter the disk utility, the HD appears there with its 2t, but it does not appear in the folders on my computer. I have already used 3 different data recovery programs, however they freeze at a certain point without finding any files and it keeps saying that there are more than 100 hours left to complete the process. I'd like your opinion and, if you have Discord, we could set up a quick video call just so you can take a look and make an assessment. Thank you for your attention!
"F" Mercedes Dealerships. After paying over $80-$200k for a car. They want $700 for a new FOB and still have to wait 2 weeks. We know these are made for less than $5.
Alex, would you be able to assist with an old 1 button flip key ir Fob pcb. The ic 6s6 77672081 was partially detatched form the pads. No broken pads though. After resoldering (no shorted pins) the ir is permanently on. Key is EOL. 1996 e320 W210
I just wonder how would you know that there is a missing component if you didnt work with the same fob before ? If i understand correctly you dont have the schematics available and ive noticed that some boards you've worked on have empty component slots where maybe a different model has components there but some more basic model dont have them. Honestly i find it crazy that with so much push from the governments and corporation for "sustainability", "ecology" and "zero waste" and other buzzwords its still not mandatory to provide the repair shops with the schematics from manufacturer, also i love that there is the trend of moving some manufacturing back from China to US and EU because a lot of times you might need some component that would become overpriced if you needed to order just one from China and it would also take a long time. I would much rather pay a reasonably higher price for electronics if this was an option. If the corpos and governments are so serious about the environment i can see only positives, lower transportation cost and emmisions, more readily avaliable spare parts, honestly lets be clear a lot of the manufacturing is heavily automated anyway so the cost of work is not as big of an argument as it used to be in past when the production wasnt automated almost at all. Can someone try to explain whats the problem with making the schematics avaliable to at least repair shops if not general public ? Do they really think that will protect their IP ? I mean i dont thing a hobbyist wont be manufacturing their own computers from scratch given that they have the schematics and the competition will find a way anyway, what prevents a competition from buying the device as a customer and then reverse engineer the shit out of it.
So, HOW THE HELL would that component get out, under normal use? Unless the owner opened it up and try to DIY. Even if it fell from his hand, that's not even pressure to cause it to burst open.
These damn FOBs are more expensive than whole computers! It's a good damn scam! Someone needs to start a business creating these FOBS at a discount and drive these con artists out of business!
I'm so glad that your channel gets so much recognition that companies start asking you for advertisement.
Keep it up!
Nice job. Clever bussiness man widening the range of electronic repairs and services that people desperately need.
you even have a fob tester, wow
great repairs,always amazing to watch
You're very entertaining! I always love your troubleshooting process!
Just ordered my NF mini!!! Cant wait!! Great video like always!
So, do donor boards come from unable to repair items? Do you have a salvage supplier? Looks like you have a lot of donors.
what really maker a repairman is the tools quality and the stock of donors and utility trash he has...

@@Hawlkeye-e9pIt's ok if you're a member of the more money than brains club. Heck, make it $1500 or 2k.
There's when I'm glad to have my old and simple Renault Duster with the classic mechanical key :)

Agreed, replacement keys made at Walmart 😎
Awesome Job, Alex!! 👏👏👏
That was a great video Alex. Very interesting. I guess that's what the thieves do to clone the keyfobs & capture the digital signals
Better than factory!
I wonder if a strip of the wide self adhesive copper tape on the back of that fob tester would help with interference issues?
NF. Mini pen works awesome. Make sure you get one for your shop!
another fantastic example of his experience ....

Hi I do have same problem ,, can I mail my key and how much it cost please?
Where do you get the fob tester?
nice , verry good video
$900 for a key .. that a rip off. I have one question that is why using donor boards, aren't there parts available to be used as new?

A whole bag of Benz fobs lol. I would be curious to know if certain manufacturers fobs break more often than others
Roughly how much for a typical repair like this?
This is why I'd rather keep my old-ass key fob rather than trying to replace its shell with a fancy new-looking one. Something always goes wrong lol

is that fob contain with immobilizer chip?
I dont believe so, as it uses IR instead
I wonder how much does it cost a Rolls-Royce keyfob replacement or repair.... let me just laugh because you guys know what I'm talking about 🤣🤣🤣🤣

How can I send you my key
D105 reads "DIOS" what means "God" in spanish
Your badass!
Neither of my keys will work. Can you help me?
fix is a fix short video or not!

Do you have experience with Fob's from other brands?
I have Renault Fob that dos not work, I like to send it to you.
he fixes everything, send it
Came in for repair.
Left repaired.
nice one man. You have an eagle eyes BTW :)
Hi Alex
That's good to know in case I ever own a Benz. Yeah, right!
I don't want to damage my tweezers so I'll use a rock to open it. J/k 😅
what is the freq of the oscillator, ah 314.9 ? also where can I get a huge bag of donor fobs? Donors are like us, on our Drivers Licenses, what ?
Why would anyone only have one key fob ? That's pretty dumb.
Hi
Every MBZ includes two matching key fobs. Car owner must not be very bright.
900 dollars for a key... a simple circuit. that is crazy
Part of it is the fob price... probably inflated Benz price...but then it likely needs labour to program it to the car ECU
Was his original chip not still in the housing? Will he need to reprogram that key now?
❤
So you can’t start the car with the actually key itself??? What kind of design is that?
Many cars now don't have an actual ignition key...ie push button start
These damn FOBs are more expensive than whole computers! It's a good damn scam! Someone needs to start a business creating these FOBS at a discount and drive these con artists out of business!
Almost 1k for a new fob... Might as well get a hacker to steal your car and make you one :p
lol hacker will charge 5k, which cheap ass hackers are you dealing with

why'd you reupload?
I don't understand how people can be so clumsy with such expensive things.
Its not considered expensive till the price is seen, most people would not think a key is that expensive
