UluvDuddes well, tbh your right, is it worth the extra money, for not a whole load more power? Suppose it depends on your budget and what you personally want.
This is RUclips where budget build means RUclipsrs with stable financial lives spending 5 - 15k on their builds. Where I'm from budget build means $1000 on the car $1000 on the engine $1000 on mods
As a K series owner myself (06 rsx type s) you CANNOT run your upper radiator hose like that at 2:35. Looping it under your intake that way is keeping the air trapped in your motor. Other than that, great job on the swap.
Its a no brainer coming from an ls integra, no vtec, long gears, now if you are coming from a gsr or itr then it surely is a bigger dilema to swap when you have all the b series goodies, only thing missing is displacement and it is way cheaper to equal the k series displacement (2.0) than to swap everything
Lol itsjusta6 is kinda lame not gonna lie he’s more into RUclips for the money than the cars he still likes cars but he’s concerned about revenue first
I support you all the way bro and I'm so jealous at the same time. I got a 'new' GS-R the same time you got your integra and sold my bricked B20 GS-R. I find it interesting that you didn’t have any issues using hybrid racing parts (albeit you did have someone from the company who would ensure the parts are good). But anyways one of my instructors at my college is a badass honda builder who has lots of experience with k swaps, he actually bought the swap harness and ac lines for his integra from hybrid racing, spent over a grand and ended up having to modify the harness because it used the o2 sensor power for something else I don’t quite remember but it was stupid because the car wasnt able to get tuned, and the ac lines needed further modifications to fit AND had a hole in it... personally I wouldn’t buy anything from hybrid racing because I feel like their quality control is down the toilet but I definitely thought it was interesting that someone i know had a bad experience with them on 2 of their products and here you are building your car with someone from the company
I did mine into an ep3 k20a3 to k20a3, I did all the work except charging the AC. Motor/trans/ECU was $4500, and with exhaust and all the other odds and ends it cost me about$8-9k and about 100 man hours. If I did it again, I could cut that time down a lot. Here, going from a b-series to a k, you're looking at a lot higher degree of difficulty and expense. I would guess someone with no prior experience doing the swap 2-300 man hours and $10-12k
@@jowen034 thats crazy i have so much respect of the work you put in. I didnt want to mess anything up so i took it to a shop currently awaiting on the engine and trans due to corona. I always thought it was super pricy but i could see i paid for a reasonable amount. For me it was 10.2k with the k20a. Stuff not included are clutch (starting at 120 if wanted), anything that is preventive maintenace, and ac conversion (120 with the old conpressor from the car), take it to an alignment ($70), and im guessing a tune since i want to e85 (500-700 im guessing to another tuner). (Engine and trans is inspected by the shop who have their own importer they prefer that have them at low miles) Everything else is a complete swap axles rated at 500hp, power steering, shifter cables, hondata, headers, upgraded fuel rail, braided fuel lines, includes the labor.
Quick question, I thought that it was the EP3 Civic Type R that had the K20A engine, and that the DC5 Integra engine had the K20Z engine, am I correct, or did the DC5 also have the K20A engine instead?
I've been watching this entire swap series and for the life of me I couldn't think of why David (Hybrid Racing owner) looked so familiar. I've seen that (JDM) Type-R before. Sweet car.
You need an ITR cluster so you can actually see the rev limit lol. Sick build! Also I'd probably do a K24 bottom end with the K20A head and trans.

Rb26 revs till 8500rpm. But it gets so fast there that you'll think it's lower rpm. You'll have to shift very soon very often. With lower hp you rev longer of course and it feels very high rpm.
Assuming you want a turbo car. Just build your d16y7 with y8 intake swap and boost it. Way cheaper to go fast. Or B series bc very capable of big power and cheaper swap. Yeah they all have Timing belts but how often do those break?
Something being worth it, or worthwhile is all subjective to the user. That being said....now that I'm older (32+) and somewhat wiser...make more money to invest into your build. Regardless of the make/model. That's just my $0.2 But for this build I guess it's worth it. It pleases the fan boys that's for sure. It is one of the more interesting builds Dave has posted about in recent memory.
I have a 2003 acura rsx auto with 75,000 miles. My options right now are the sparco r100's, nrg type r reps, or the nrg prisma buckets (replacing due to ripped up leathers.) Which should I go with?
Instead of a truck and trailer, you should just get a flatbed. Much easier to load/unload. Also, get some tint, dude. It's a must if you're livin in the south.
Dang, 1M subz now, congrats on that big milestone man :-) and yes doing a kswap into an Integra is worth it. I would do a 06-08 k24a2 swap tho, if your not planning to build a motor. It would be cheaper than a k20a, but with more tq.
I dont know if you've done anything with it by now, but a USDM type R cluster would be perfect for it. The b18c5 and k20a still have about the same redline and the LED red would look much cooler 😎

@@Civicky are you having issues with it at stock? or modified
Glad to see an reg done right. My first car, brings back a lot of memories and dreams. Keep her safe!
Thought this was supposed to be a budget build?
Spent 5 bands on swap alone 🤣
That's what we always when we start.
Phillmk7 973 yeah if you don't end up spending 20k on your budget build something's wrong 😂
@@metalfruttolo9855 agree lol cuz something going to go wrong somewhere an it's going to cost u. Just to get back on track
This is RUclips where budget build means RUclipsrs with stable financial lives spending 5 - 15k on their builds.
Where I'm from budget build means $1000 on the car
$1000 on the engine
$1000 on mods
As a K series owner myself (06 rsx type s) you CANNOT run your upper radiator hose like that at 2:35. Looping it under your intake that way is keeping the air trapped in your motor. Other than that, great job on the swap.
You NEED the USDM ITR cluster. Done and Done
Those brown belts are driving me nuts!
Please change those things.
So awesome to watch this project from where it started and I can’t wait to see you throw down at some autox and track events! Love the content David!
You took trip to Louisiana and didn't collab with Itsjusta6 :(
@Noise Control 550k subs is pretty damn far from irrelevant
ahhh that dudes a whiny bitch
Lol itsjusta6 is kinda lame not gonna lie he’s more into RUclips for the money than the cars he still likes cars but he’s concerned about revenue first
I support you all the way bro and I'm so jealous at the same time. I got a 'new' GS-R the same time you got your integra and sold my bricked B20 GS-R. The most progress I've made is swapping the AP1 s2k cluster and now an AP2 cluster in the same amount of time you've done all of this to yours. Mad love, still the same keep the content coming so I can love/hate from the shadows. 😁
Ughhh I miss my 97 Integra Type R I had in Okinawa 😢😢
5:09 oh, that is right. Having a hi rev swap that makes your tac rocket through the red is awesome!
Had hondas my whole life. Never blown a motor.
Your not doing something right
Not slapping the limiter enough
Had hondas for 25years..i stopped blowing engines when i learned how to tune them...been hitting 9200 rpm on a stock k20z3 since 10years
Not taking a single drop of oil
400k miles still going lol
I had a 1995 integra gsr I blew a hole threw the block spun a rod bearing an tried to drive it to my buddies shop the next day lol. Swapped a b20 and out the gsr head on it and sold it few months later but I’ll say the b20 vtec was pretty impressive just ran a type r base map .
my dream car... the only thing i would do is a mugen body kit and paint it white withe the mugen stripe..... love this car :)
Repaint it white and do an oem Type R Integra body kit.
I was driving a stock f22a4 accord coupe and now I have an 8th gen si with the k20z3. Honestly k series will rip. Even stock if you're used to slower Honda's D or B series it will surprise you and has so much potential
its worth it if u have a garage. if not. it can easily be stolen like the rest of them honda we all used to own. 🤷♂️🤷♀️
Chloe Vang facts. Ek Eg Dc2 they all get stolen in minutes
@@xThundersZ not anymore
Yep yep
@@besttex4735 you would think so but the people who are big into Hondas from back in the day are still out here stealing them. You just dont here about it since there are so few nice cars left.
@@besttex4735 you can never be tired and past an easy come as stealing a honda with 5k engine swap..
How much did this whole engine swap cost?
Quick question, I thought that it was the EP3 Civic Type R that had the K20A engine, and that the DC5 Integra engine had the K20Z engine, am I correct, or did the DC5 also have the K20A engine instead?
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_K_engine
When you’re a Honda fan boy and wish you can do this exact swap .. but too broke to do so... sad boi times 😪
I agree bro smh lol
That's one of the reasons most honda guy's, build up their B, D, or H series engines, because most k swaps, if done properly cost alot of cash🤔😫🤬
I've been watching this entire swap series and for the life of me I couldn't think of why David (Hybrid Racing owner) looked so familiar. I've seen that (JDM) Type-R before. Sweet car.
Does the K's VTEC cover still fit? I personally like the look of the red valve cover and the silver engine cover
The Integra looks awesome man. That interior looks so good. And the K swap sounds great. Happy for you man.
Notification squad!!! Yes swapping to a k20 or k24 is always worth it you can make the most power for cheap on a k series
You need an ITR cluster so you can actually see the rev limit lol. Sick build! My dream Integra right here (except I'd probably do red Recaros like in the Type R instead of the mismatched stitching colors on the Sparco seats with the ITR back seats. Also I'd probably do a K24 bottom end with the K20A head and trans.
Can't wait to get a proper review from that girl purple.
Man I’m not even a tuner fan but your integra makes me want one just as a simple daily and do small mods to it
This made me regret selling my 99 honda prelude. It wasn't the fastest, but it was the most beautiful car I've ever owned.
Preludes are incredible
As someone who has owned 3 integras they are real dope to drive I wish I had k swapped mine but it is what it is my b series engines pulled and still owned a lot of foos on the street 🤟 I just got a 2019 Honda Civic Si and it’s a beast when I’m cruising on the st
S2000 gauge swap in the future??? Maybe
Legend Young tryna turn him into rhdkev I see
But the s2k revs to 9k if anything it should be a type r gauge
newb question, but what do you mean when you say there was air in the engine after the swap?
J0sh92 air in the cooling system. It’ll overheat if you don’t bleed it out properly.
So what was the final price on the swap?
I'm gonna guess around $13,000... total
Tanabe sounds on VTEC like nothing else! Great choice! I have it on my 4th gen Prelude.
Give us some more raw footage of the integra, Just go drive it and record the reactions !!
If you’ve never heard a k series scream it’s definitely a bucket list thing
The title of this video is click bait.
Rb26 revs till 8500rpm. But it gets so fast there that you'll think it's lower rpm. You'll have to shift very soon very often. With lower hp you rev longer of course and it feels very high rpm.
God damnit I could've met you if I knew you were in baton rouge
Same
Assuming you want a turbo car. Just build your d16y7 with y8 intake swap and boost it. Way cheaper to go fast. Or B series bc very capable of big power and cheaper swap. Yeah they all have Timing belts but how often do those break?
Haha classy dinner at taco bell i just woke up this funny af
Chorrrrrrro waiting to happen
Love that the video is a "worth the money" video and there's not a single mention of money/cost to do the project.
Probably $10k if it was a normal person
Should of gotten a Subaru, it would of matched your vape,...real Honda guys do ALL their work,....
Cool story bro.
How is driving around with a suede steering wheel? Does it turn bad without gloves?
You get a blown motor you get a blown motor lol please update us on smurf booty lift lol
Something being worth it, or worthwhile is all subjective to the user. That being said....now that I'm older (32+) and somewhat wiser...make more money to invest into your build. Regardless of the make/model. That's just my $0.2
But for this build I guess it's worth it. It pleases the fan boys that's for sure. It is one of the more interesting builds Dave has posted about in recent memory.
your dc2 integra is not a type r. it's an LS. it'll never be an ITR. don't ever call it a type r. it has a sunroof. lol
Haven't even watched the full video but i'd say yes, it is definitely worth every penny.
Is that a JDM AE92?
@@oldsklteg Yup, powered with a 16v smallport 4AGE. Fun little thing, tho I sold it a few months ago. Messing around with an EG hatch as of now.
@@darrentantono6020 sounds like a fun setup. I grew up driving a 5a-fhe powered AE92 with a 4spd gearbox. Damn car was almost invincible.
It’s a must anywhere
That’s what I want for a daily , clean integra with a kswap nice and reliable with ac and heat for a quick little fuel efficient commuter .
Dang, 1M subz now, congrats on that big milestone man :-) and yes doing a kswap into an Integra is worth it. I would do a 06-08 k24a2 swap tho, if your not planning to build a motor. It would be cheaper than a k20a, but with more tq.
I also got a tanabe cat back on my DC5. Cant go go wrong with it, sounds nice and mellow
I dont know if you've done anything with it by now, but a USDM type R cluster would be perfect for it. The b18c5 and k20a still have about the same redline and the LED red would look much cooler 😎
I wish I knew people like David to do something like this
Do you have a full part and budget list?
Are you having trouble shifting the Integra? I always see every pull, you dont move to the next gear smoothly...
Why not K24/K20? Just rebuilt the K20Z1 head in my RSX. The biggest weak spot is the head and valves
Dude we need the road camera view....also, carry powder in your car so can throw dust at people when you pass them.
You did not answer the question you posed in the title of your video. Is it worth it?
What was the total cost?
i need a response asap im looking for the oem air fuel ratio sensor for the k20a where can i find it
