Ipoh white coffee very nice but condensed milk and evaporated milk rather unhealthy, I drink them occasionally. At home I drink instant coffee with milk and without sugar. You can try Hoong Tho Restaurant in Ipoh, their 豬網油春卷,桂花冬粉,乾煎生面 very nice, two of these three dishes you can’t get in canada.
@@mcmkh-n6we5m thanks for the suggestion RL. We're the same, we usually drink condensed milk on occasion and don't usually put sugar in our coffee... But we can't get enough of teh tariks and white coffee🤣
OMG! Such a unique traditional way of baking cookies. I always thought they were using ovens. No wonder it tastes delicious. No machine made cookies can beat this.
Just loved watching the video, guys!! Everything looked absolutely delicious. So interesting watching the preparation of the different foods, especially the Fragrance cakes and the salted chicken! So mouthwatering 😋! Very labour intensive and the people seem so hospitable. Love the way you include the history of the city and the architecture.
Thank you so much for your comment :) the preparation of the fragrant pastries was incredible to watch, so traditional! They really work hard to create amazing food, you definitely see a while other side to the cooking process, and the food in Ipoh is incredibly delicious🤤
Us too Keang, you always worry that this will happen with newer and quicker ways to do these things. We hope they continue to pass on to other generations to keep up the craft. It's important that these traditional ways are not forgotten
Such great coverage. You guys are so lucky again to taste some of the best food on earth... That 362 cookies making is traditional and chicken noodle look so yummy . Enjoy the Ipoh food adventure and hospitality :-)
Glad they've made it to Ipoh. The best food in this video is indeed the Baked Salted Chicken and their famous white coffee. I think Steph best food is probably the Heong Peng. I like those purple bowl, saucer, & chopstick of Hakka Shredded Chicken Noodles Soup, but that sky blue soup spoon I don't see it blend well with it. I'm looking forward for them to try out their Milo beverages and Cendol-Shaved Ice mixed with red or kidney beans, pandan noodles, plum sugar, & coconut milk.
back in the colonial years white coffee is made to cater the wealty British Tin Mine Bosses .. most brits back then were not a fan of strong bitter coffees (robusta). Ipoh Coffee is a blend of Robusta, Arabica & Liberica beans.. separately roasted and mixed before the grinding process.. The typical bitter flavour from robusta beans are manipulated with the process of butter & sugar coating in a hot wok after the roasting of robusta beans. With the combination of the three different types of beans, a new blend of coffee is created unique to it’s place of origin..
Hi Chris and Step ! You are making me drool right now watching all my favourite food . Next time , let’s go back to Malaysia together . We will go to the Durian farms 😁.
I had 2 yrs not at ipoh, miss ipoh "kopi ais",miss ipoh yellow noodle, hor fun and beans sprout, next summer will be back ipoh....new york city can't get tasty yellow noodle...
I'm from Penang but my favorite food is Ipoh Sa Hor Fun lol... Penang food is something you'd only want to eat once in a while because the flavors literally punch you in the face, whereas Ipoh food I can eat everyday.
Time 14:27 Ipoh White Coffee - Traditionally, Malaysian style 'black' coffee roast is produced by roasting the beans with sugar and margarine. 'White' coffee, on the other hand, is produced with only margarine and without any sugar, resulting in a less dark roasted coffee beans compared with those roasted with dark caramel burnt sugar. it was first introduced by this coffee shop in Ipoh. That is why is called Ipoh White Coffee. It has nothing to do with the condensed milk .
Oh no way! That's so awesome :) thanks for coming to check out our channel and watch our video, we really appreciate it! The noodles were so good 😋 hope you enjoyed your meal as well
Malaysia is such a great city you're right Spencer, the food and people are wonderful! We've been to Singapore though, you do have a lot of condos 😄 but tasty food as well!!
It was super cold beer poured into a frozen glass, after pouring it turns into almost a slush, it was so refreshing, and not flat at all we found! But that could also be because we drank it so fast😄
No, it's actually quite flaky and crumbly, fairly hard and crispy on the outside. But then sweet and savoury on the inside, nice and sticky. It's unlike anything we've had before, very different and super tasty though🤤
Ipoh must be easier to film with Cantonese being more pervasive? Ipoh does have some speakeasy bars. I accidentally discovered one award-winning bar called Atas a few months back. It is an easy town to go around; less dynamic than KL but sure is comforting.
Thanks for watching Vincent! Yes it was nice to be able to communicate using Cantonese while in Ipoh with the locals, makes for nice conversation for sure :) it's such a lovely town, and the perfect size you're right, to go around and explore, we loved it!!
Hi, since you are in Ipoh, is it too much to ask if you can go and try out the Nasi Ganja( so call Marijuana Rice, but is actually curry rice, due to many return customer &heard people feel like addict to such dish😄🤣)I don't know where, ask the local around. Just feel like to know about it. Thanks,🙏😁

Ipoh definitely has different vibes from other cities in Malaysia. Rustic and lovely.
We totally agree, it's such a lovely city, with beautiful architecture and amazing food and people. We've really enjoyed Ipoh☺️
