The sad part about Generation 5 was how it was controversial upon release but looking back it was the grand finalie of classic Pokemon. It was controversial upon release because of only using new pokemon, but I think that's the romantic part of it being the end of the classical era. Gamefreak pulled out every stop for this generation almost as if they knew it was no longer possible to be a 2d-franchise after this. They gave us one last generation as a love letter to what they created and gave everyone a chance to relive Generation 1 in the process.
I enjoyed the mix of 2D and 3D of that game. Pretty neat. Speaking of this game i remember a playthrough of it by superskarmory back in the days, wonder what happened to that dude.

@Lzxlzxa unfortunately though we are getting a new Pokémon legends game in 2025 instead of a black and white remake that people actually wanted. Pokémon legends Z-A was confirmed on Pokémon day 2024.
Like with Diamond, Pearl or Platinum, Heartgold/Soulsilver these Black and White games are another great addition to the Pokémon JRPG series on the DS.
I just picked up.right now the 208 in 1 and it has black 1+2 white 1+2 platinum, gold heart, diamond. Pearl and lots of others can't wait to get home and play

I just started playing this on Nintendo ds roms on my iPhone, I never got to play these as a kid, It’s so fun! but I can’t get past the elite four, I got crushed on the first one! I don’t know what to do!
Going against the grain a little, I honestly have next to no nostalgia for this game... I guess I was at that point in my life where I was either growing tired of Pokemon games or just moving on from playing the DS in general. Now, the nostalgia really kicks in for the good ol' pkmn games. I remember being so incredibly jealous of my best mate having crystal on the GBA when I'm pretty sure I was stuck with gen 1 😂 Later on, I remember spending countless hours playing through gens 3 and 4, discovering all the hidden regi puzzles, searching for days for a feebas in emerald and finding a shiny magikarp in the process, falling for the deoxys rocket launch rumours, catching missing no in blue, oh and losing my save file when my possibly not so legit copy of ruby went through airport security... Really wish i hadnt trashed my copy of emerald when the battery dies years ago, but planning on replaying platinum and ss when i get the chance 😊
