    Mind-bogglingly inefficient presentation. What’s your reward for suffering through the disorganized, repetitive, poorly-stated blurb? You get an unsupported subjective statement on which rod he likes best, no rhythm or reason.

    Lincoln has been on top for a very long time. I've been running into quality control issues with it the last year or so. Like metal showing through the side of the rod through the flux. Arc shoots out the side of the rod. So I started looking into other brands. Reason I'm watching this. Hobart seems to make a better running rod now and so does Washington Alloy. I'm talking about 6010 on pipe here. I'm still weighing in on making the jump away from Lincoln. But check out other options. Keep in mind that open root is a different ball game than fill/cap passes and if your metal is clean or not. Different rods for different purposes. Thanks for vids Man!!!

    The Blue Demon's that I bought a few years ago did indeed have a blue flux. It is substantially thicker than other 6010s, which contributes to the added difficulty in running it on machines that don't have enough arc voltage. I measured them with a caliper, did the calculations, and they have +70% more flux than a Lincoln 5P+! Best ones I've ran are the Lincoln 5P+, 6P+, and Hobart 6010s. Böhler Fox 6010s come in a close 2nd. "Ebay" 6010s like Hyweld also run pretty easy, but I suspect they are more like 6011s than true 6010s.

    we recently had a real problem running 6010 rod on a Everlast 315, after about 1.5 to 2 seconds, it would snuff out, then relight....it had a special setting for 6010 also, inverters and 6010 sometimes have a lot of issues.....we were using 5P+ Lincoln.....something to be aware of, inverters and 6010? Why can't they be friends.....

    • @zod-engineering-welding
      @zod-engineering-welding 2 года назад

      That's only a problem on cheap, low quality inverters as you have now seen. Step up to a real professional level welder and you won't have these issues.

    Cool vid 😊👍 I’ve never welded with 6010 but I am definitely hoping to get some very soon. I recently purchased a Miller Thunderbolt XL ( used of course lol ) and it came with 3 different sizes of 6011, 1/8, 3/32, and 1/16. Btw, I’m also a “ Jersey boy, “ southern Jersey “ trying to get into my own welding / Fabrication business, but it’s not too good this end of the state 😩, Anyway I really dig your channel and videos and wish you all the best in your endeavors 👍👍

    I use 75 amps on my 120 volt titanium multi process and my 6010 Lincoln welding rod keeps stick but when I use Vulcan welding rods such as 7018 it strikes clean and welds very very good and I was wondering can I actually use my tig mode with stick welding because the tig mode goes up to like 130 amps while the stick mode makes me have a max 75 amp and I feel 75 amps isn't enough for 6010 6013 7018 runs good but I feel it could run a little more smooth at at least 85 to 100 amps
