This was a great video. It's evident that this is a thoughtful and well planned layout. That small 6-in piece of track is all the difference for me. 🙂 Congratulations on another well developed video. I'm looking forward to your next installment.
Thanks! The proof is in the pudding. It all looks good on paper but thats not what we are here for. For my next installment ill try a more vlog style video. With hopefully the same quality but a nit more casual so i can give more frequent updates.
After several years of planning I would like to think it's well thought out 😅. It is an enjoyable journey to figure out what you think you want, and eventually ending at what you want for now. I have several videos covering the back story of this layout, inspiration, what I don't want and more if your interested.
This looks amazing and I am excited to follow progress! I also appreciate how you go into detail with operations, even at the planning stage, and what every piece of track does.
I am watching this again. Are you using anyrail? Are you just inserting "Add Surface" for all the ground cover and building shapes, etc... Do you design any layouts with grades? I am trying to figure out how to add the "story" to the layout through groundcover, scenery, buildings, etc... but I am not sure the best way to integrate everything, especially with all the grades I have currently.
Hi HCJ, my designs are all made with Anyrail. I can assist you if you like. Telling a story on the layout is not easy, yet an important aspect for a lot of modelers. Check out my website at modelrailroaddesigns.com
Hi Zozo, thats correct. Its designed to be packed as it is downtown chicago. You can see how the layout operates and follow its progression on the channel.
Interesting layout. Only question - how are you go to get into center of the room youself, just crawl under the layout, or some more sophisticated solution?
That's an interesting track plan. I really love it! What scale are you modeling in? Have you considered working the brewery job by heading out of the yard counter-clockwise? This way the brewery job doesn't get in the way of the NN and float jobs.
@@DubaiTrains I model in multiple scales. I've lived in an apartment most of my life, so modeling was easier than layout building. After nearly 40 years in the hobby, I'm finally in possession of a basement with a roof... erm... house over it, so I am now in the very early stages of taking stock on what I have and what I want to do with it layout-wise. Probably in HO scale, but I have sufficient equipment to consider N or 2-rail O scales as well. Decisions, decisions! LOL!
Your "BREW" job seems unrealistic to have your train go from the Yard to the Brewery with a caboose on the rear end then have a shove move back to the Yard ESPECIALLY when you have a runaround track at the Brewery
Hi David, thanks for the feedback. I am aware of the situation. That run around in particular is short. There are other sections to do a run a round on of they are clear from off-spot cars.
Looks like a really fun layout. Looking forward to the next episode. Thanks for sharing. Dave

This is an extremely well thought out design for an around the walls layout. I look forward to the updates.

Awesome Layout. 👍👍
Danke! Construction will start in a week or so. Keep watching to see to see it all come together.

Thank you for the kind words TT. I'm working on a quick update video once the new room is finally finished. Ill keep my followers posted!

This looks like a LOT in a small-ish space, what scale is this going to be for?

Hi Pavel, the left top corner will be a swing-up gate. I had a duck under once before and never again!

Hi AJ, I'm modeling in H0 Scale. In what scale are you modeling?

2 rail O scale would be by preference !
Great Work! How wide is the layout and more importantly what are the curve radius ?
The benchwork is 60cm all around and 70 deep at the brewery.
The continuous running section is 22" radius. Most is >22" with a few exceptions to 20".
Great video, just wondering what is the size of your room?
Thanks Corey. The room is 5.45m x 2 35m
Could you tell me what layout software you are using? Thanks

I have a couple of quick questions, looking for a design. What is the best why to contact you?
Hi Vegas,
My email is in the channel ' about' section. You can also get the design and anyrail file on my patreon page.
