I had shoulder pain for over a year, a result of working from my kitchen table during covid restrictions. I tried various shoulder exercises, none worked, eventually I booked a GP appointment. I came across you video before the appointment date and thought the GP may eventually refer me to have physio therapy anyway, so why not try the exercises on your video. After a few doing a few sessions I noticed that the pain had decreased. Now I am pain free. Thank you very much Will. I really appreciate your dedication to help others.
I tell everyone that you are my favorite physio on RUclips! Look how much your channel has grown! Almost at 1 million subscribers! Congratulations Will!
Fantastic, thank you! I have appalling foot pain, and I'm not even 60, so I'll be trying these, and hoping to see results. I really want to stay fit and active 👍
One thing that you should have mentioned is that, when buying shoes, always buy them at the end of the day when you are tired, preferably on the way home from work. Why? Because the feet do actually expand slightly during the day, and will be more uncomfortable at the end of the day than at the start. Experienced shoe salesmen know this, and are trained to tell their customers this! It makes them sound so much more knowledgeable, and it makes customers think they care...
When your videos first popped up in my feed, I thought "why am I getting this suggestion, I am a very youthful 55 year old!". But I love watching them, because so much of your content addresses my older clients' concerns, and by me sharing your knowledge via your channel, you are helping me help more people live stronger 💪🦵🦶 Thanks, Will 🙏🏻
I never get foot pain (other than stubbing my toe 😄) but I sort of already do these exercises fairly regularly. I use a step to to get my vitamins off the top shelf and my heels always stretch below my toes on the way down, I push my big toes back using the footboard on my bed most nights because that stretch relaxes my feet and I use my toes to pick things up off the floor all the time (long toes and a compressed disc in my lower back make this the easy way for me to pick up dropped pencils etc.) It's nice to know that these things are helping me and why. I have a peanut exercise tool that I sometimes use to massage the bottom of my feet but in future I will pay attention to keeping it just on the soft tissue . No point in making problems for myself eh? Once again thank for the informative episode.
I am 61 years old from India and watching your videos regularly! Your clipps are indeed very informative! Kindly suggest some good food to increase the muscle mass!
Thank you Will wow the big toe one works instantly. Also the shorter foot is great as I have hammer toes, so good to stretch them and get some more movement. Thank you again. The step one I would be worried about falling. Need to find a solid step!
You read my mind Will. I have all 4 of these issues. My foot pain is mostly at night with what i think is my tendons or ligaments that go to my toes. I wake up with one or two toes “locked” and bent upwards! Also my ankle often locks where it connects with top of the foot.
Will, your advice is excellent and this 68 year old has found it very helpful. Just a comment on the 'look' of you videos. Not sure I'm a fan of the new lighting for the closeup or the soft focus on the sides of the room. I find it distracting, actually. Keep it simple, like you did before, is my advice. And keep the advice coming! The format and length and structure of the videos is perfect. Thank you.
THNKS I'M UR SUBSCRIBER NOW..I'M 68YO BUT 27 YRS INSULIN DEPENDENT N MY DOCTOR ALWAYS CHECKS MY FEET...NOW I DO THIS EXERCISES DAILY...THNKS N GODBLESS...
Thank you so much for your generous gift, please do not feel obliged to give anything at all, your viewership and time to leave a comment is all the thanks I can ask! Have a great week :)
Standing at the foot of the stairs and lowering your heels is quick and easy to do, as for the toe scrunching, it is fun to grab the bathmat sitting on the edge of the bath. Whichever way, it is vital to do anything to avoid becoming vulnerable to those dreaded falls. shall fight that till I drop off my twig !!
I’ve been releasing the fascia between my toes using my fingers to press and wriggle in between each toe. It can feel very intense especially the little toe and the one beside it. But it feels so good afterwards and has helped my bunions , foot pain and balance . My feet feel really different when walking on a hard surface after doing this.
Thank you and thank you. You are good sent to us the older people. May god bless you. You are doing such a great service. I don’t miss your videos all the way from Sri Lanka 🙏🏾🌹 Shall get a copy of your book too 😊❤
I believe strong feet, strong body. I have transitioned to barefoot approach over a number of years. Solved a lot of foot and knee problems for me. I also follow The Foot Collective , who are bunch of physios that have good ideas. Thanks for sharing your video
Absolutely brilliant exercises thank you, I’ve very flat feet and my ankles roll inwards terribly and a very stiff big toes , so these are absolutely perfect for me to practice.
I'm really very happy to do these exercises and the exercises for strengthening the muscles around the knees. They are helping me. I have pain and discomfort in my knees. I feel better now. Thank you for the explanation you gave .
always great, so I study the Thomas Hanna style of movement and he is all about contraction first,we call it pandiculation works wonders to re teach the nervous system
I’ve noticed that my big toes seem to have reduced flexibility as I have aged. I will be trying all the foot exercises, especially the stiff big toes exercise. Thank you!
Love your vdos. I'm a gyno and I recommend them to all of my peri and post menopausal pts who suffer a lot of bone loss and muscle loss. Hip fractures and knee joint replacements getting very common. If you can just give some special tips for this group of women in all your vdos, it'll be great 👍
Thanks for your very watchable videos and the excellent advice and exercises. I find your foot and calf exercises especially useful for some issues I have due to my short achilles tendons and very high arches.
I am a 75 year old male and I enjoyed a 40 year career as a professional dancer. I was forced to retire after being diagnosed with severe neuropathy in both feet. It has now progressed up to below the knee in both legs. I was told there is nothing they, the Doctors) can do but give me medication for the pain. I don't believe that. Somewhere, there is something that can help increase the blood flow to the nerve endings at bottom of the feet. Lack of blood in lower limbs can be a natural progression in older adults. I appreciate and utilize many of your exercises and I would like to know if you have any exercises that might help me regain balance, stability, and control of my lower limbs. Thank you for your time and for all you are doing to help the 50+ community. Artie Stone
Great information! Thank you. Would you suggest these to minimize a Mortens Neuroma? I have had one on my right foot for about 10 years, and yes I’ve worn heeled dress shoes for most of my life.
Thank you so much for sharing your expertise, it's making a difference for us that's for sure. We live in northern Canada so access to physios is limited to injury only, not prevention of injury, so finding your site was a God-send. Subscribed 😊
Thank you Will. I have been feeling very frustrated as I am a keen walker but now have developed plantar fasciitis and ankle pain. I will give these exercises a go
Hi Nick. I follow your channel and bought your book. All great stuff (for any age, I would maintain). Could you do a video on neck-strengthening exercises.? I don't have a neck problem, but would like a stronger neck. Thanks
Thank you. The instructions were easy to follow. I recently developed flat foot (dropped arch) and metatarsalgia (pain in the ball of the foot) . Could you please advise the best exercise for this foot condition. Thank you.
