    I am absolutely loving your yoga. Your gentle approach is helping me release alot of the low back tension and "funny" stuff in my pelvis and hips. I'd love a 60 minute yin/restorative practice for low back/sacrum/hips...thanks for bringing your kind guidance to such healing practice!

      Thank you so much Lynn! I'm so happy to hear this is helping, and great to know you'd like more longer practices 🌞

      You can try holding the poses for a longer time. That with breath work will bring you to a deeper level.

    Most are poses I do all the time, but holding them that long is something else. Particularly low lunge, was starting to become uncomfortable. I will come back to this one I think.

    • @YogawithJoelle
      @YogawithJoelle  2 года назад +1

      It can definitely be uncomfortable, and that's a fine line to be able to sit with that discomfort for sure. Well done Katrina!

    Loved this and I will definitely do it more often since I realized I don’t do long holds often enough and they really help with releasing everything.Thank you!

      Long holds are so wonderful for releasing tension, I totally agree :)

    Thank you! Had a tired low back from weightlifting and this provides a lot of relief! And the seal poses made me realize how tight I am in that plane! Love all your content.

    That Baby Dragon pose was a killer today! I can do a low lunge in flow, but I had to come out of it several times today. I guess that means I need to keep working at it until I can ease my mind & body into it. Thank you for another great practice

    • @YogawithJoelle
      @YogawithJoelle  2 года назад +1

      That one is a real challenge for me too! And yes, it's usually the mind that can be the sticking point. See if each time you can hold it just one breath longer than your brain is telling you it can, and over time you'll build up to longer holds. Great job!! :)

    Hi Joelle, and thank you so very much for all of the things that you give to us here!
    In the next day or two, I'm going to try your "Yin Yoga for Lower Back Pain; 30 min yoga sequence." I have chondromalacia in my knees. Do you have any suggestions for how to adjust for knee impact? Thank you again.

    • @YogawithJoelle
      @YogawithJoelle  Год назад

      Good question! If your knees are sensitive, I'd recommend placing a blanket over your mat to soften any pressure they may be feeling. If you don't feel like that's enough, many postures can also be modified to do them on our back, so let me know in case there are any in particular that you're struggling with

    Your yin yoga routines have helped me so much with hip bursitis so thought I'd try this routine for back pain after my accupuncturist told me I have a tight lower back. She said that can contribute to hip pain. It was a challenge but I will keep working on it. Thank you for your clear instructions. I really like your channel Joelle.

    Joelle You have helped me very much with chronic pain!! Can you make a toning yin yoga as I use your lazy glutes already and it’s great!!
    Love you❤

    • @YogawithJoelle
      @YogawithJoelle  Год назад

      So glad you have found my classes helpful! Yin yoga unfortunately can't really be used for toning as it's a passive practice that involves as little muscular engagement as possible. The lazy glutes one is definitely a great practice to come back to, or I've got a quickie 5-minute glutes practice here too if you'd like: ruclips.net/video/OrI-hkpztjM/видео.html If you're looking to stretch out the hip and glute area, I'd suggest this yin yoga class: ruclips.net/video/Y6K9RCgB6bk/видео.html

    In the thread the needle pose, how far should the shoulders be twisting across the midline of the body? I had a hard time finding a position that didn’t put a lot of pressure on my neck.

    • @YogawithJoelle
      @YogawithJoelle  3 года назад +1

      Good question Jeanne! In a perfect world, the shoulders should be more or less stacked. That said, we're all built differently, so if something isn't feeling right, I'd suggest experimenting with a yoga block or pillow either under the bottom shoulder or under the head to see if that can give the neck a bit more space and comfort. I hope that helps - and well done to you! 🌟
