This has made me realise I've had absolutely no idea what David Dastmalchian's actual voice was like despite having seen in him like 6 or 7 different films.
LITERALLY BC HE BARELY SPEAKS
This man is such an amazing actor, I hope he gets more bigger roles.
Well , you got your wish now 😁
Polka Dot Man in the new Suicide Squad movie
@@sophiecooper1824 i know it!!!!!!
@@sophiecooper1824 yeah he deserves that and more✨
Bunch of big things coming out 2023 😎
weirdly charmed, no matter how short the part or how long it's been, never forgot his face. he's gorgeous. kinda looks like tim burton charcter.
Can you imagine him in a Tim Burton film? Because I did and I'm smiling like an idiot at the idea.
Narcissists are great at being “charming” and charismatic. He’s not all that. Hate to put my ex down but he held me down for YEARS.
@@S543-can't tell if you're joking or not.
even though he's been in a lot of high profile films, he's such an underrated actor.
He looks like a Bond villain but acts like your junior high art teacher who let you eat in class.
And I love him for it!
Oddly specific, but i have to agree
Terrifyingly accurate
Yes.
If you know this guy's life story... it's really inspiring to seem him now. A fine actor and an even more impressive person.
For some reason I really like this actor. He is amazing in everything he is in.
I'm so happy hollywood is finally giving him the attention he deserves
Strange to see him out of his odd characters, being that he's seems like such a nice dude. He usually plays dangerous weirdos hahaha.
I just noticed hes that russian guy from Antman and hes abra kadabra from the flash. Hes very good at acting
Or really smart genius cops that work forensics in 2049
Especially in Bird Box
Its ironic.
Ive know Dave over 20 years and hes a really nice guy. The parts he plays are so different from the real dude.
Great guy and actor!
I thought the same. I was expecting him to be really weird, based on his characters. He’s quite the opposite. Sign of a great actor!
Underrated actor. Salute to you David.
Ba ba yaga

@@Itsdanka gonna cry?
David Dastmalchian was scary in several powerful films, testament to his characterisation.
David at 7:26 : "This small chin"
Patrick at 11:14 : DASMALCHIAN!!!
Me: (instant facepalm)
You can see David's face of sadness because he realized nobody will say his last name correctly, even after explaining how to do it
Well, this is one character us Dune geeks won't have to worry about. He will nail it.
We can't let this him be an actor that fly's under the radar he's way too underrated imo.
This guy was fantastic in The Dark Knight. His scenes are some of the best in the entire movie.
I just watched him in Teacher and thought, 'What an actor. Who is this beautiful man?' He has such a unique look. I'm definitely gonna be watching whatever he's in!
So you're gonna watch the new suicide squad movie ?
Hehe yes
I know he was in the Dark Knight in a minor role and is set to play Polka-Dot Man in the next Suicide Squad. lol But I really think this guy can pull off an awesome, dark and funny version of The Riddler in a Batman movie. Him playing a mentat in the new Dune is a great choice as well. Especially if you compare it to the original character in David Lynch's Dune. Great actor, I'll keep following his work.
I like this guy a lot and I can see why he's gotten all the accolades and all the parts with all the best directors because he seems to be pretty humble and appreciative of where he's at and his roles and not cocky and negative and arrogant.
I look forward to seeing him and many more creative endeavors keep up the good work David
He's literally so beautiful it makes me want to cry
He is such an underrated actor
Hands down my favorite MacGyver guest star- I literally cheer for him to escape every time they chase him so he can do another episode. Can't count the number of times his acting choices have surprised me in the best way.
I started to see some of his work, I like it. I read a little about his past with drugs, I'm happy to get over it, I really see emotion in his interpretation and he has a beautiful voice
.
3:15 amazing the amount of effort the director and everyone puts into even casting such a small role in the movie
I feel like he always gets typecast as the villain though... I’d like to see other kinds of roles from him too. Love the suit :)
He blew me away with his performance in the Dark Knight on release. Ever since then I have been a HUGE fan of his.
How he gave us all a way to describe his surname just made him even MORE likeable :D
definitely an underrated actor
I really wish he made it big. He would be the american Mads Mikkelson
Everything he is in he is gold! Even with small roles and he's super humble!
Some actors dont want to get that big
Finally !!!! I'm not the only one who thinks he's like Mads Mikkelson..And of course, I want him to be the main character in a movie
He is underrated, he nailed the creepy henchman in batman
David is great! Hope to see more of him in general!
He is the one of Denis Villeneuve's persona. He must be loved by him.
Seems like a really great guy and his acting is super solid! A joy to watch. I am envious of his career.
I love him....
This a great interview : great questions, leave all the place to the actor, dont interrupt...people should take notes!
i love his voice
Matt Reeves should cast him as Jervis Tetch/Mad Hatter in the Batman sequel.
his performances in the dark knight and prisoners are incredible I am sure he is great in all his films but I had never the chance to see them all
He was so amazing on the Dark Knight - never seen anybody show emotions of both fear and excitement simultaneously when he was playing the role of a schizophrenic
How this guy has not been cast as the joker is unbelievable because he would knock out the park
He is going to be awesome as Piter DeVries.
He’s gotten to act along side Jake G, Heath, and Ryan Gosling. I’m so jelly
I am so weirdly attracted to him.
Same
I could easily recognised him every movie he is in no matter how smaller the part is, weirdly rememberable face. On the side note. Are you from Punjab ? Lol, never imagined I would see a Punjabi's comment on such underrated actor's interview.
He's hot, enough said.
Not at all weird! He's a very handsome man
underrated actor
Excellent actor who in whatever roles small or big shines.
He’s such a perfect pick to play Piter
my heart aches for this dune movie. if its bad im never going to theaters again
101wormwood Denis Villeneuve directing. I think its in safe hands.
He has the same intensity as Brad Dourif in his best days. Such a great actor, hope he won't get cast as a typo anymore in future.
LEGENDARY!!!
im here after he Voiced Calendar Man in The Batman Long Halloween Part 1!
Polka dot man need a series
I swear he's just typecasted as the creepy dude who's in the movie for less than 5 minutes.
Apart from Ant-Man
@caveman Versace I didn't say it was a bad thing, it's just a noticable thing that's all.
caveman Versace "So?"
I mean, he fucking nails those roles. Have you seen Prisoners?
Especially in Bird Box
he is in the big short, a comedy
He would make a great Joker.
After seeing him in the ant man movies I actually expected him to have a Russian accent and real life and when I saw this I was shocked
In literally any other situation Polka Dot Man fundamentally wouldn’t work .... unless he’s played by David and written/directed by James Gunn, it’s one of the reasons I love The Suicide Squad before I’ve even seen it because as a fan of both Marvel and DC it’s basically Guardians of the Galaxy all over again in terms of mainstream expectations, yeah they are beloved and known worldwide NOW but not 7 years ago, in the years and months leading up to its release many doubted it would be successful .... it ended up being a critical darling and earned 700 million bucks, if Gunn can make a talking tree and a talking racoon become household names and even have people cosplay as them then I think he can easily do the same for Polka Dot Man and Ratcatcher 2
Firtt time seeing him , other then in Ant Man, when he was cast for Piter Devries , I thought he really was Eastern European and would fall right in , but I know he can pull it off hearing his resume!
Honestly Best penguin choice
polka dot man is awesome.
Great actor and guy too. Can't wait to see him in The Suicide Squad 2 movie.
After Prisoners, Please david..Be The Joker in Suicide Squad 2
I remember watching him in the Wendy's commercial very memorial face.
I remember those lol
Surely this guy has to be a future Joker right?
He kinda sounds like Ryan renolds a little
you have to see all creatures here below .you can see how deep this guy is a great actor he is gunna be big......
He played as Chalendarman and Penguin in DC animated i hope if ever chalendar man will show up in liveaction it will be him
Best villain
Polka dot man stole the show. Along with king shark... but he was so fantastic in the film.
I liked him in ant man and suicide squad
Guy can be another joker imo
We are Jerome
1:37 The Dark Knight
He should play Elvis
He scared me so much in the dark Knight. His girl is so hot
Hey it's polka dot man
The new version of Dune reduces his character to an extra...
Im so used to him having a Ukrainian accent that his real voice threw me off.
harry dean stanton of this generation
he is this generation's Stanley Kubrick.
No.
No.
But he is a brilliant director.
I would say PTA is but he needs to do a sci fi first. But yes Denis would be my go to comparison for Stanley after PTA.
@@francodeassis4320 Hey, i actually agree. PTA's the Master might be one of the best films i've ever seen.
@@Ofinfinitejest Yea, idk what i was thinking when I posted this. If anything PTA is that guy.
Naaaaaaahhhh ... Still a great director tho
I struggled to work out who this guy even was In the dark knight.
Clearly Made an impact,..........
I'AM SUPERHERO
POLKA DOT MAN!!
He can play Marshall in a biopic if Shady refuses to play himself.
I thought he was a real Russian (from Ant Man)
He's often cast as weirdos who get hurt pretty badly.
BABA YAGA
He is the best guy to play psycho role or a pathaphile
yay I get to work with a kiddy fiddler 😒
Damn, I thought he was going to be really Russian.
kool aid
david is so annoying when he's an antagonist, great actor
going bald for a role .. that's a big "step up" in the movie indusrty ..
He seems to think he is IN Dune?
