3:43 - incredibly subtle acting. He's laughing on the inside but has to appear offended, concerned on the outside
You're right great subtle acting, but I 🤔 the facial expressions come from him trying to deceive Johnny into believing it was his first time hearing it as well as being offended, plus simultaneous trying to figure out who told Johnny, because as soon as Johnny said it, he knew exactly what Johnny was talking about...
hence the line about him telling Johnny that Ralph knew better than to say that remark in front of him, when in fact Ralph did...
Reason I'm saying this, is because in the scene where Ralph tells the joke, Tony laughs, but also lightly chatises Ralph in front of everyone that it was wrong to crack on a man's wife...so I doubt if he was laughing inside, more like trying his best to make sure Johnny was buying his act
I like how asks “both of them?” after Adrianna tells him that her uterus was pierced in a medical procedure, it’s right up there with Tony saying “penisary contact with her valvo” when discussing Ralph’s bedroom activities with Dr. Melfi.

The Priest's expression is like that because the speaker mentioned John Gotti, and he knows multiple women in the room are married into, or otherwise connected to organised crime. The guest speaker is saying gangsters like Gotti, and the mafia in general, lead to negative stereotypes about Italian Americans that hold them back in society; and so the mob wives end up confronting him about it.

Artie paying homage to deniro in Scorsese's taxi driver talking in the mirror was hilarious and nothing short of.brilliant considering how he ACTUALLY acted towards the guy who ripped him off when he finally "confronted" him. 😅😂. Ralphie was smart in not lending artie money to cover the expense.

He said studying heroin addicts he noted a type of jaw movement, like a fidget, and working with that the word just came out that way.
To get all hyper analytical, you could also say it's a Freudian admission, he mistakenly says he did, but tacks on a "dent" to change the truth he told to a lie. I'd like to think that M.Imperioli or the writer/director had all that in mind when conceiving the scene, but he said they did-dent.
Its extremely well done, his study of opiod addiction.. pulls off looking high almost perfect all purpose not just the one dimensional high either he was able to pull off the various degrees of being fucked up. He was a good spiker, was believable and not overly over the top, good snort with that huge vacuum (lol), decent at being strung out, very good at the reactions playing the hiding game to your closest family (the scenes with him and Tony noticing the signs of him being high all those times) he was spot on at that between his respect ladder he was really on point from really being on the up with tony but everyone else was an asshole and blow up at them if they hinted at him being an addict, the classic intervention episode what is now a pretty common scene, at the time wasn't as common in the portrayal of honesty in a real life intervention. Anything before that episode in regards to interventions on tv especially but probably even most movie scenes(not all movie scenes I'm sure there are several more than just the ones I can think of that show a close to true portrayal of a drug intervention in real life but they are not as mainstream as after the show and alot that did would be very watered down versions of a drug intervention a very vanilla, plain, not too dangerous, safe scenes that wasn't as true to the common reaction in real life to an intervention because in all honesty that topic of drug overdose in the days of modern tv. After the sanitation of the kind of the network programming from the start of the first tv broadcast until the mid to late 70s when networks were getting real content instead of just sanitized sitcoms not much time was to pass until the Just Say No initiative/campaign during the Regan administration and at the height of cable tv companies ready to expand to compete to sell premium cable tv networks to you the average consumer cable television is expanding and we want to be able to expand that service to the entire country, no make that the continent, no make that the entire world. And then in that period during the Reagan's Just SAY NO campaign that was what was all over the tv and Hollywood was obviously in on the campaign as well so really at this time the real golden age of cable tv, we had majority of that sent to influence the youth as the campaign was designed for but instead of the realness that came later in that intervention episode in and around that time in history things slowly started to spill out with overwhelming numbers of overdose deaths that only went higher as through time we would all find out together that were starting what would be known as the "opioid crisis"/"opioidepidemic" and tv and film from there on tried as they could to show some more realistic content and shedding light on the issue and giving people what they really needed long before and that was a cold hard punch of reality directly to the face. Holy legitimate book I just wrote for anyone who sees it to say nope and move on... lol I dont expect much else it's probably more of a kind of therapy for myself saying this out there... it's hard to pull off subtlety playing an on again off again user.... happy for Mike Imperioli for winning himself an Emmy for playing Christopher Moltisanti, he deserved it one of the characters you hate but love but then love to hate and then end up having a heart for him after he was such a dickhead for so long lol ahhhhhh this show does this to me and then I go rewatch the damn seasons lol I probly have 4 or 5 times at least, once within the damn covid bullshit during the lockdown. Such an amazing show

Tony fudged up when he killed Ralph. Think about it. Look how much money he got from Ralph at the races, I know he was mad about the horse dying , but he coulda paid Ralph back like how he got Bobby B , when he made him do that hit .. Instead Tony coulda just taxed him at every chance he could. Nobody else earned quite like Ralphie did & he worked for Tony.. So why would you kill the guy who makes you the most money? If I got that pissed at ralph I would just burry him in vigs.
