I think an important scene is when Vito gets in a car accident and murders the guy asking for insurance. It shows that while it was evil for him to be murdered for being gay but Vito was not an innocent person he was a merciless killer too

This is one of my favourite arcs of the Sopranos, it's interesting how the mob have such strong opinions on homosexuality, yet the whole issue came to light because guys were collecting protection money from a gay bar. I think an important scene is when Vito gets in a car accident and murders the guy asking for insurance. It shows that while it was evil for him to be murdered for being gay but Vito was not an innocent person he was a merciless killer too

Good point. Vito managed to escape the mob and find a better life, honest job and a caring relationship with that fireman only to blow it all because he couldn't stomach a day working a REAL job. He went back to Tony willingly and it ended up killing him.

Vito’s mistake was not whacking the two goons who came to the bar. They made it clear they were going to be trouble. Vito’s a cold blooded killer. Just had to act in-character and make them disappear.
Yeah made guys or not. He would have been better off, then come up with a plausible story like they owed him money but wouldn't pay him and made allegations of him being gay. Phil would have been more forgiving.

This is one of my favourite arcs of the Sopranos, it's interesting how the mob have such strong opinions on homosexuality, yet the whole issue came to light because guys were collecting protection money from a gay bar. It's funny in that the mob have no issue doing business with gay people but god forbid one of their own swing that way. It's also tragic in that Vito could have lived out his life in New Hampshire but the seduction of the life was too much, he couldn't hack it just being a normal person and needed the mafia lifestyle and ended up dying for it.

Tony after forgiving Chris for that shitshow made Vito apologies but Chris never forgave him for the slight as seen by how happy he is to get chance to get back at him. Chris is homophobic buy he's a lot more passive about it throughout the rest of the show unlike carlo so it's safe to assume he's using this as a chance to get back at Vito.
