For anyone confused this is called a block schedule which is where you only have about four classes a day but their different every other day and they last two hours rather than in most elementary-middle schools where its the same classes every day and their an hour each, this is a very common system that American high schools use.
Hi. I am Polish and soon I will attend an American high school. I've never been to America and I have a long way to go. Could you tell me what it's like there?
In Germany one class is 45 minutes long. In Highschool however you would always have block sessions, which makes 90 minutes per class. On a regular school day I had 4 classes, starting at 7:35am and finishing at 2:45pm on rare occasions I had 3 classes and on others I had 5, finishing at 4:30pm
I graduated in 2019. Started school at 8:15 am end at 4:30 pm. It was actually ok, my only complaint really is the food. You got a little better after Michelle Obama stopped messing with it.
My Fridays are like this this except slightly longer classes and an earlier time to get out 8:30 - 10 AP environmental Science 10:07 - 11:37 US History 11:37 - 11:52 Brunch 11:59 - 1:29 Intg Math 3
My highschool 8:15 Am: 1st period 8:55 Am: 2nd period 9:40 Am: 3rd period 10:25 Am: 4th period 11:10 Am: 5th period 11:40 Am: break for 20 mins 12:00 Pm: 6th period 12:45 Pm: 7th period 1:30 Pm: 8th period 2:10 Pm: school ends No extracurricular activities, no free periods, no phones, hard academics, no trips, no library to access, loads of homework. So yes that's my school.
it's not really all that, teachers have bad teaching methods, most teachers honestly don't care if you fail or not, school education is horrible not as advanced or challenging, school shootings/threats happen way too often, school fights constantly as well (coming from a student who's studied both in korea and america)
@@NeemaNamitu-jh3jl american studies are the best...? that's simply not true. even statistically. i'm a foreigner that went to an american high school and i can guarantee that...depending on the state and region...american high schools suck. especially when it come to ACTUALLY learning...there's a reason americans are stereotyped as ignorant and dumb by other countries. we don't actually LEARN ANYTHING!! It’s block scheduling, so they have certain classes every other day. For my school. It’s four classes one day, then three classes and a homework block on the other day.

Honestly dude it depends, when I was in Middle School I had a really close group of friends but when we change to high school we got separated to different high schools one of them ended at 4:15 and they had detention as well we didn't do that in my school
So I’m in Australia yeah? And the high here is from grade 7 (we call it year 7) till grade 12 (we call it year 12). And we usually have 4 periods a day with 2 breaks. You’re allowed to do whatever you want in the breaks. And 1 period is for like 1h 30m usually. Other than the occasional “vaping” here (it has started to decrease), Australian high school is quite fun.
I wish I went to an American school cuz I live in Australia and we have uniforms and we’re not allowed to have phones and we have an open school so all the classrooms are separate and when it’s winter every class we have to stand and wait in shorts and a top at the door for our teachers to let us in .
everyone acts as if school in america is so easy when it’s not. we have ap ib classes and we have to do so many extracurriculars on top of those too. i have 7 classes a day, and 5 r ap, plus extracurriculars. my friend had 7 ap classes last year and also was president of multiple clubs and did dance and stuff. last year, with only 2 ap classes, i spent about 3-7 hours per night doing hw and studying. we also can’t have phones in class, our teachers collect them at the beginning of class.
My story: so I have a rare medical condition which I get sick very easily and really bad migraines and sometimes seizures and fainting. But anyways I went to public school my whole life and I had an amazing nurse and since I. Need a lot of attention when it comes to helping me when I don’t feel well at school, my nurse is great at that. She knew what to do (since I was there almost everyday for 1-2 hours). However, a year ago my nurse left and then there was a new nurse and me and my parents had a chat with her and what she should do when I come to the nurses office everyday, and it seemed fine until one day I had really bad migraines and I came in to take some medication and lay down but then she didn’t let me lay down and told me I was overrreacting (I have a medical condition so I am not overreacting). Anyways, this happened more and more often so we decided to go to a private school. We found this school that was a couple of blocks away from our house and it is for special needs/people with medical conditions. We decided to apply to it and we got a response that I was eligible for the school! This school has many nurses and staff that will recognize you and they will give you everything you need. So we went to the nurse night where I met my nurse and she was awesome and so nice. The best thing is that if I have to skip a lot of school which I do, I can follow along with a homeschool program that is part of the school and I can go on zoom calls with my teachers if I feel up for it. I have been going to this new school for a while and I love it so much everyone is so nice and I also get to brag to my siblings because I get to sleep in because my school starts later and ends earlier😂.
thanks! the movies and this video r very romanticized tho so keep that in mind haha. i wish school was actually like the movies/this video. everyone acts as if school in america is so easy when it’s not. we have ap ib classes and we have to do so many extracurriculars on top of those too. i have 7 classes a day, and 5 r ap, plus extracurriculars. my friend had 7 ap classes last year and also was president of multiple clubs and did dance and stuff. last year, with only 2 ap classes, i spent about 3-7 hours per night doing hw and studying. we also can’t have phones in class, our teachers collect them at the beginning of class.
Guys she has block schedule which means she has 3 classes a day but they are longer each day is a different 3 classes so each class gets the same amount of time.
I guess it’s just different in Canada, but at my schools we have classes every other day, but they’re still on 70 minutes long, not 110. We have five classes a day so you can take ten a year. How is it possible to stay focused on one subject for that long? My classes are 70 minutes and I always feel like the last 20 minutes of class are pointless bc everyone is done everything and it always ends up just being people sitting and talking or sneaking their phones for the last bit of class and waiting for it to end.
I go to a middle and high school and middle school classes are 50 minutes cause they have 7 classes and in high school every class is an hour and 30 minutes and they have 8 classes but the classes alternate for high school. Here is my schedule but we only have 4 classes and the schedule changes every other day but the start time for class is the same expect on Wednesdays where the classes might be longer but the classes i take are different each day:
1. Science-(7:25-9:05am)
2. English Language Arts-(9:05-10:35am)
3. Agriscience-(10:35-11:20am)
4. Lunch-(11:20-11:50am)
5. 2nd half of Agriscience(11:50-12:35pm)
6. Last class of the day! Math-(12:35-2:10pm)
My highschool classes lasted 40 minutes and we had 8 classes a day
Bro you get out of school so early my school starts at 7:45 and ends at 3
I’m assuming they had a spare period at the end of the day. Most schools with this type of scheduling there would be four blocks per day.
my high school also has a block schedule! expect we have 4 classes a day so school doesnt end until 3:30 😵💫
We got no phone in school we dont use tv to learn, we wake up at 5:00 bus come at 5:30am we learn 12subjects a day
dude by that time my school teaches us 9 classes with a 20 min break even tho each class is 40 mins long but STILL?!?!?!
Ur high school ENDS AT 2PM!!!
MINE ENDS AT 6PM with A TOTAL BREAK TIME OF 45MINUTES!!!!! and starts at the same time as yours
I have 4, 82 minute classes and 1, 40 minute class everyday with only a 25 minute lunch
This is really cool to see, I go to school in the downtown area of Nashville Tennessee (Music City USA) and never think about how people look at my school. To me those are regular classrooms and a standard school environment that you could find in any city. It’s cool to see thing through ur lense!
In my school we also have block schedule, A day and B day. (Tho the academics ex:English, math, history etc) are very day. We alternate for P.E Tech and Music, every other day. Schools starts: 7:45-2:30, I wake up at 6:00 because my bus comes at..
6:45 💀
The realest part is the ICE
For anyone confused this is called a block schedule which is where you only have about four classes a day but their different every other day and they last two hours rather than in most elementary-middle schools where its the same classes every day and their an hour each, this is a very common system that American high schools use.
Hi. I am Polish and soon I will attend an American high school. I've never been to America and I have a long way to go. Could you tell me what it's like there?
That’s so cool I was a exchange student for 2months in Spain as a 10yearold
woah my school goes til 3:27 and a 30 minute lunch😭
Bro I love sparkling ice water!!!
Pov: the particular schools at brazil
In Germany one class is 45 minutes long. In Highschool however you would always have block sessions, which makes 90 minutes per class. On a regular school day I had 4 classes, starting at 7:35am and finishing at 2:45pm on rare occasions I had 3 classes and on others I had 5, finishing at 4:30pm
50 minutes earlier in US than Australia. We start 8:50am, finish at 3pm.
It can be very different times for different schools
Oooo interesting! I have a couple Australian friends, I should ask them about this
I graduated in 2019. Started school at 8:15 am end at 4:30 pm. It was actually ok, my only complaint really is the food. You got a little better after Michelle Obama stopped messing with it.
My Fridays are like this this except slightly longer classes and an earlier time to get out
8:30 - 10 AP environmental Science
10:07 - 11:37 US History
11:37 - 11:52 Brunch
11:59 - 1:29 Intg Math 3
I truly am blessed to be born American.
i have 4 1;25 min classes, a 15 min break, 30 min lunch and 3 5 min passing, yall will survive
I get to school at 8 and they keep me hostage until 3:15
Is your pfp from a d4vd song? I love himmm

No extracurricular activities, no free periods, no phones, hard academics, no trips, no library to access, loads of homework. So yes that's my school.
I might not be an American but I love Thier school life
it's not really all that, teachers have bad teaching methods, most teachers honestly don't care if you fail or not, school education is horrible not as advanced or challenging, school shootings/threats happen way too often, school fights constantly as well (coming from a student who's studied both in korea and america)
@@frankoceanlover6969 I still think America studies are the best . Tell me more about the school .
@@NeemaNamitu-jh3jl
american studies are the best...? that's simply not true. even statistically. i'm a foreigner that went to an american high school and i can guarantee that...depending on the state and region...american high schools suck. especially when it come to ACTUALLY learning...there's a reason americans are stereotyped as ignorant and dumb by other countries. we don't actually LEARN ANYTHING!! Teachers here are paid so poorly that they don't care about their job OR the students.
As a American, you do not want our lockdown drills.
@@idk-te2yv OK, but How much does an American schoolchild know about world geography?
Having classes be 2 hours long each is crazy. You could could have so many more classes and learn a lot more if you only do them for about an hour or 45 min
It’s block scheduling, so they have certain classes every other day. For my school. It’s four classes one day, then three classes and a homework block on the other day.
they prob have a block schedule. 4 classes one day, 4 diff ones the next say
Thank you for showing i live in the Maldives but becuse of the education or the bullying My mom is gonna sendiri me to America soon❤

Yeah don’t listen to him. America is not all that great, especially the public schools. There is so much racism, bullying and sexism that is completely normalized and the education system sucks so bad for most schools. Not to mention the extremely high amounts of shooting threats that a lot of schools get

no hate but as a middle schooler in France i would love school to finish that early in most french schools we start at 7am-8am and finish at 6pm-7pm for me, sometimes i have like 15min to eat and then i have class right after, or sometimes i don't even got time to eat (i litterally just go to my next class)😭😭
has always been my dream
Here in the Philippines in one day we have 8 subjects and each subjects are only 45 minutes😭
ten times of 40 minute classes, 5 min breaks for me. 👍
my school has four classes everyday and ur schedule switches every other day and we start at 7:20 and end at 2:35
bro our school teach us 7-8 subjects with 5-10 minute breaks(Azerbaijan)
What school is it? And where?
As an American this does not apply to me, school ends until 4:15😢
oh my gosh i cant imagine😓
@@anezkaexchangestudent3:30 for us but the difference is our classes are much shorter and we get more free time
Honestly dude it depends, when I was in Middle School I had a really close group of friends but when we change to high school we got separated to different high schools one of them ended at 4:15 and they had detention as well we didn't do that in my school
I used to get out at like 4:00 now they changed it to 4:30 😭
@@iateglueandilikeditsame it wasn't nice lol I have graduated high now.
I wish my school started at 8
Girl, I study 8 hours a day in middle school 😢😢😢😢
So I’m in Australia yeah?
And the high here is from grade 7 (we call it year 7) till grade 12 (we call it year 12). And we usually have 4 periods a day with 2 breaks. You’re allowed to do whatever you want in the breaks. And 1 period is for like 1h 30m usually.
Other than the occasional “vaping” here (it has started to decrease), Australian high school is quite fun.
i aint reading all tat
I have 5 90 minute classes every day
School starts at 8:10 ends at 3:10 so yes school is that long
I wish I went to an American school cuz I live in Australia and we have uniforms and we’re not allowed to have phones and we have an open school so all the classrooms are separate and when it’s winter every class we have to stand and wait in shorts and a top at the door for our teachers to let us in .
everyone acts as if school in america is so easy when it’s not. we have ap ib classes and we have to do so many extracurriculars on top of those too. i have 7 classes a day, and 5 r ap, plus extracurriculars. my friend had 7 ap classes last year and also was president of multiple clubs and did dance and stuff. last year, with only 2 ap classes, i spent about 3-7 hours per night doing hw and studying. we also can’t have phones in class, our teachers collect them at the beginning of class.
The class times were hurting me bro, we have five periods that last an hour each in Australia, not TWO HOURS 😭
American culture is very unique but interesting and fun at the same time!
thanks! the movies and this video r very romanticized tho so keep that in mind haha. i wish school was actually like the movies/this video. everyone acts as if school in america is so easy when it’s not. we have ap ib classes and we have to do so many extracurriculars on top of those too. i have 7 classes a day, and 5 r ap, plus extracurriculars. my friend had 7 ap classes last year and also was president of multiple clubs and did dance and stuff. last year, with only 2 ap classes, i spent about 3-7 hours per night doing hw and studying. we also can’t have phones in class, our teachers collect them at the beginning of class.
Guys she has block schedule which means she has 3 classes a day but they are longer each day is a different 3 classes so each class gets the same amount of time.
For me school starts at 7:40
I guess it’s just different in Canada, but at my schools we have classes every other day, but they’re still on 70 minutes long, not 110.
Jesus Christ, those are long ass classes.
I go to a middle and high school and middle school classes are 50 minutes cause they have 7 classes and in high school every class is an hour and 30 minutes and they have 8 classes but the classes alternate for high school. For example let’s say your schedule is this one day Math, ELA , sicence, art the next day it would History, Theatre, P.E, ceramics
