Totally did it the opposite way. I think my problem is I was trying to test it before changing the brakes and the pad sensor was interrupting it from recalibrating the parking brake
The reverse procedure wouldn't work on my 2018. No all you have to do is just replace it but some of them if you have like the rotary knob are all built into that same housing if you can just order the switch by itself and replace it you're good you don't have to program that
A lot of times whenever you do the brakes and you don't put it in park brake maintenance mode you have screwed up the calipers and the majority of the time they end up having to be replaced and recalibrated

When I came out today to turn on the truck, the emergency brake light was on, and when I turned the key in the ignition, the truck would not move forward. How do I get the emergency brake off, to drive my truck? Please text me back ASAP? Thank you
You either have to push down on the pedal really hard and let it come back up or there is a plastic lever underneath the dash on the driver side that you pull and it releases the parking brake If you have an electronic parking brake here is a video showing how to apply and release it ruclips.net/video/CNW1XKxRVRI/видео.html
Will this process help me in a EPB malfunction situation? My battery almost died, and now vehicle is is that mode and rear brakes are locked. Can’t move vehicle.
Turn the key on, push the accelerator pedal down, push in the switch while pushing in the switch turn the key off and then back on and continue to hold the switch for about another 5 Seconds and the dash should start flashing part break maintenance mode Turn the key off and go back and do your brake job You're finished go back up do the same step as above except you put the switch in the other position and you follow the same sequence

You're probably going to have to take the calipers apart and run the Piston back in if it will go and then put the motor back on and see if it will release most of the time when you do this you've probably damaged them
Hi, I performed this procedure. Replaced all pads and rotors and bled the system. Now I deactivated the system and now the vehicle won't move. Seems like the pads are compressed with the parking brake off.
I'm jot sure what you did, you should have reactivated the system before you bled them and then did your bleeding you're going to have to go back and deactivate and reactivate again I don't know what you did
@@FordBossMeok I have a question please. I replaced left rear caliper. so once I reactivate the system can I bleed the brakes like and old style caliper? Or do I need to do a “pressure bleed”?
Little confused HERE. to put in in service mode, 1) push down gas pedal 2) hold the the parking brake down while turning key on, repeat twice. I got that part. BUT to take it out of service mode, what is step 2) press down with your foot on parking brake or hold the parking brake up??? thanks for clarification
Listen to me very careful I'm going to say this one time and one time only I don't have time to go back when I very clearly already said this Key on Hold accelerator pedal down and push in on your electronic parking brake Keep holding turn the key off and turn the key back on and then about 5 seconds later it will go into service mode Now to take it out of service mode you do this same exact thing except you move the switch instead of pushing it and you pull it up like you're trying to apply in the opposite direction of what you originally did in the first step but it's the same steps all over again so here we'll repeat these again since it's not clear and I don't understand that Key on Pull switch up while holding that accelerator pedal down Keep holding turn the key off and then back on again in about 5 seconds later it goes back out of service mode and you can hear the parking brake reinitiate Now where you're confusing me which to me this is common sense but forgive me because I get frustrated from answering the same question over and over again it's like I'm a broken record If you have a parking brake pedal to push down that means you don't have electronic parking brake you have a manual parking brake and you shouldn't even be looking at this to do the brakes because this is only for electronic parking brakes with a parking brake button and if you have a foot pedal which is your parking brake pedal to push down you're wasting your time looking at this to do the brakes anyway because you don't have electronic parking brakes so why in the world would I say hold the parking brake pedal down?
@@FordBossMe THANKS, i watched another video of yours, and clearly saw there pulling the e brake button down or up depending on go in or out of service mode, all clear now thanks for responding so quicly. you are amazing
You don't have to, sometimes you may have e done it wrong or missed a step or there was a glitch You put it in maintenance mode 1x and take it out 1x That's it
@@FordBossMe thank ya sir ...that was job one today of many and I knew exactly where to come to for the for sure answer.....your a godsend to us small mechanics that just wanna do it right and are smart enough to know when something is a miss like these electric calipers lol
No - do it exactly as I said in the video Key on Press the accelerator down and press the park brake release in While doing the turn the key off then back on 5 sec it should flash and say in maintenance mode To take it out you do the same exact reverse the position of the park brake switch then you hear it reapply the motor for the rear brakes and the message on the dash will go away
@FordBossMe so you do keep your foot on gas pedal while you press the barking brake button then key on..Key on put foot on gas pedal key off keep your foot on gas pedal press and old parking brake release then key on wait 5sec then key off..then when you done do the same but parking brake back on..reverse process but parking brake on

Okay I don't have a link for it what you have to do is when you take it out of maintenance mode you're going to turn the key on you are going to hold accelerator pedal down like you did when you put it in service mode you're going to switch the release switch to apply turn the key off turn the key back on hit the brakes firmly for one second with your other foot continue to hold and it will release Let me see if I have a police car here in the shop I can do a quick video on look for it on the channel within the next five to six hours

I'm jot sure what you did, you should have reactivated the system before you bled them and then did your bleeding you're going to have to go back and deactivate and reactivate again I don't know what you did
@@FordBossMe
I bled the system while the EPB system was deactivated. Then reactivated when I was done.
So you're confusing me now
Listen to me very careful I'm going to say this one time and one time only I don't have time to go back when I very clearly already said this
Key on
Hold accelerator pedal down and push in on your electronic parking brake
Keep holding turn the key off and turn the key back on and then about 5 seconds later it will go into service mode
Now to take it out of service mode you do this same exact thing except you move the switch instead of pushing it and you pull it up like you're trying to apply in the opposite direction of what you originally did in the first step but it's the same steps all over again so here we'll repeat these again since it's not clear and I don't understand that
Key on
Pull switch up while holding that accelerator pedal down
Keep holding turn the key off and then back on again in about 5 seconds later it goes back out of service mode and you can hear the parking brake reinitiate
Now where you're confusing me which to me this is common sense but forgive me because I get frustrated from answering the same question over and over again it's like I'm a broken record
If you have a parking brake pedal to push down that means you don't have electronic parking brake you have a manual parking brake and you shouldn't even be looking at this to do the brakes because this is only for electronic parking brakes with a parking brake button and if you have a foot pedal which is your parking brake pedal to push down you're wasting your time looking at this to do the brakes anyway because you don't have electronic parking brakes so why in the world would I say hold the parking brake pedal down?
I already found another video of his , I understand it now. THANK YOU
@@FordBossMe THANKS, i watched another video of yours, and clearly saw there pulling the e brake button down or up depending on go in or out of service mode, all clear now thanks for responding so quicly. you are amazing
Worked on an 18 Expedition I didn't catch that you had to do it two times in a row at first once I did that it worked perfectly
You don't have to, sometimes you may have e done it wrong or missed a step or there was a glitch
You put it in maintenance mode 1x and take it out 1x
That's it
@@FordBossMe either way it's fixed thanks
Some one buy this man a six pack of beer 🍺
After you put it in matanance mode do you just compress as normal
?
Yessssss
Don't twist just push straight in
@@FordBossMe thank ya sir ...that was job one today of many and I knew exactly where to come to for the for sure answer.....your a godsend to us small mechanics that just wanna do it right and are smart enough to know when something is a miss like these electric calipers lol
How to put in maintenance mode on a 2019 push start
I already have videos on this
Same thing except your hitting the button instead of turning the key
Same exact steps
Do you keep your foot on the pedal while pressing in the parking brake button?
No - do it exactly as I said in the video
Key on
Press the accelerator down and press the park brake release in
While doing the turn the key off then back on 5 sec it should flash and say in maintenance mode
To take it out you do the same exact reverse the position of the park brake switch then you hear it reapply the motor for the rear brakes and the message on the dash will go away
@FordBossMe so you do keep your foot on gas pedal while you press the barking brake button then key on..Key on put foot on gas pedal key off keep your foot on gas pedal press and old parking brake release then key on wait 5sec then key off..then when you done do the same but parking brake back on..reverse process but parking brake on
Great tip!!
thank you! I watched 6 other videos and followed what they said and I couldn't get mine to go, first try with following yours!! thanks!

Is there a different way on a 2020 Police Interceptor. Rear EPB. I got it service mode change pads and rotors but no way I was able get it off service mode took dealer They used factory scanner. How do get it with out factory scanner. Out service mode. I work the City. Thanks
Yes you have to add an additional step when you take it out of service mode which I have talked about this before and it's in my library
Let me try to find the link for it
Okay I don't have a link for it what you have to do is when you take it out of maintenance mode you're going to turn the key on you are going to hold accelerator pedal down like you did when you put it in service mode you're going to switch the release switch to apply turn the key off turn the key back on hit the brakes firmly for one second with your other foot continue to hold and it will release
Let me see if I have a police car here in the shop I can do a quick video on look for it on the channel within the next five to six hours
Yes i did tried it close key and open key withing 5 seconds while holding accelerator pedal and pulling the brake leveler I tried it lke other link video done before older models this one didn't like me 😂
@@FordBossMe Thanks yes see can make video it was a 2020 3.3 engine Thanks again and stay safe Thanks for Face mask tip lesson learn for me too on that
