@@dsbpainting9598 well, this is the recording but I’m taking this course to the National Guard Bureau in Arlington, VA next week. That’s why I made the course 😂 Hmmmm…maybe I do a webinar and teach this live and answer questions live? - Clay
@TheCivDiv Yea, that would be awesome! I misunderstood and thought you were going to put these courses on the civdiv website. Do you have videos for the other levels like master or just this basic only on RUclips?
I'm 30 years out of the Usmc.I was a 0352 tow gunner. My body is falling apart now and needed to get on the board so I could get access to medical coverage. I went to local VA office and vso put in for tinnitus and hearing loss. Did my c&p exam and provided a solid personal statement thanks to you and vet info tap. I woke up this morning to 175.51 in my account and haven't even received a approval letter yet. There's no doubt in my mind the person statement sealed the deal because I received a letter yesterday from the VA stating that I intend to file for headaches and insomnia both are symptoms in my personal statement. And so my VA journey has begun. Thank you!
I just want to acknowledge the gentleman who also puts great videos on your channel. You two gave me the knowledge to get my claim filed and won without a VSO.... Thanks for the help.
You both Rock!! I have a question.... I had PTSD C&P but I don't have current diagnosis. I've been seeing a psychologist for counseling. Do I need a Nexus?
God bless you! I am a VSO, and a lot of veterans wait 2 months for an appointment. And I ask them their conditions and they don't know. Or the Veterans make the assumption that the VSOs & VA should know
Thanks for doing this Clay. Im national guard (18 years, 3 deployments), going through this process. Within the one year with an ITF, from latest deployment. Im gonna do this with assistance from a strong VSO, and I can not wait to see how this goes. Gathering evidence at this time. Thanks again Clay ! If I do alright and get rated for what I derserve, Id like to help on the TAPS stuff. I know how I felt when I went through it, and there was no footstomp saying hey.. hey... Do these things right now, had I felt that I would have definetly paid more attention. Anyways.. sorry for the rant. I'm just happy after so many years that I am finally taking care of myself.
Retired ARNG guy myself: (assuming you’re M-day) file for the presumptives within a year of your last DD214, even if you’re still off from your 20-year letter. Your date of discharge from ARNG is meaningless to VBA (unless you’re AGR or FTS, then you’re just like AD). I learned that the hard way.
@@angellindebak7569 gotcha ! That is what I figured with all the research I'm doing. I am M day.. just 2 more short years until my 20, and I don't foresee any deployments on the horizon... However we deploy all the time so that doesn't mean much heh especially when I'm changing units every two years for the officer chess game shuffle. My next unit I'm moving to in OCT may be in their "ready" year during my 19-20th year. Guess we will see haha.. but yes. Definitely gathering evidence and will submit within the one year time frame. 3rd deployment.. it's about time I start doing something.
This is great! I'm trying to figure out how to file for a hearing for the proposed reduction of my SC prostate cancer rating. They are proposing reducing it to 40% but I meet the standards for 60% (residuals) based on my incontinence and frequency of urination. Any advice on how to request and file the additional info for the hearing would be greatly appreciated. My local VSO was no help at all.
How do I download your form on slide #27? When my mouse hovers over the download button, I am unable to click on it and open it. Am I doing something incorrectly?

Thank you for everything you do for Veterans. I changed my claim representative from county VSO to DAV. I didn't know at the time, but they submitted a VA 21-0966 for me. I thought I was just changing reps. Does that change my ITF 1 year date to the new date from the new ITF or do I keep my original ITF date? Thanks again, take care.
Question, if I am in the process of a review and am in the evidence gathering review and decision phase should I try and add Sleep Apnea to the mix, or wait until I get an initial result first? Will adding Sleep Apnea just prolong my initial claim?
hey i HAVE A QUESTION and thank you for answering my other questions I have not come across something like this. I can have the presumtive for chronic allergic rhinitis / chronic sinusitis but it can also be secondary to my cpap which has a very hi secondary rate. when I put my claim in can I put in the claim with the information as a primary and the information for it as a secondary information in the same claim and then that is stronger connection and validation of it?
Regarding service connection, I had an accident while working on an aircraft and partially degloved my finger. Of course I had to get medical attention (had to!), but I didn't go to base medical, just within my squadron. I don't see anything in my medical record about it. Not sure if it would be in my service record. I know they took pictures of it and threatened to make me talk about it at a safety stand down, but I don't remember it very well if I did that (it was 20 years ago). I still have the ring that caused the injury though. I submitted a FOIA request to the Naval Safety Center, but came up empty. Any ideas where I can get some concrete evidence? Thanks!
Do you need it to actually say "chronic diagnosis" or will a current diagnosis along with log book (in the case of migraines) showing 6+ months of symptoms suffice? My STR showed a complaint of migraines
What if ive been seen for my back pain a few times over the course of 3 years, but my diagnosis only states “lumbago with left sciatica, lumbago with right sciatica, cervicalgia” but does not specifically say “chronic”?
HLR asserted a difference of opinion for my Hypertension claim. It was returned for a C&P exam to measure my blood pressure only. VARO adjudicator denied service connection for Hypertension but didn't give a reason for denial. Isn't this against VA Regulations?
CivDiv, my son just got out of the Army and he made his initial claim. He received his rating and got a 90%, however i peaked into his medical files and found a whole bunch of diagnosis that he did not put in. Question, can he put in these additional claims under his intial claims using the BDD route?
Because the evidence will tell the story. If your evidence talks about knees, then it’s clearly for knees. Let the VA do VA stuff. We worry about Big 1/2. - Clay
I'm at 39min into the video... just want to comment. I'm currently filing, just had my QTC appointment for migraines and flat foot and another appointment for hearing test and tinnitus. All of these va disability channels make this whole thing a big deal and it's not. Do some research, know what to file and what to say. My migraines medical exam lmao.. she went through the whole form with me showing me the laptop the whole time and "WE" answered all of the questions "correctly"... These examiners are third party medical professionals, mine was a nurse practicitionor...they don't work for the VA or against you.
