I would like to take your classes! At 73 years old this is my first year acknowledging my period in the service…been spending time watching you and Jason…still learning the lingo associated with disabilities in the VA. Have my claim for PTSD due to MST submitted. Would like to learn more about all the processes so I don’t misunderstand them. Thanks to you, Jason, and Stan the rooster for all you do and have done for other veterans.
Very, very interested in course. I'm 71 and have filed for Tinnitus, bilateral hearing loss, Depressive disorder and OSA. Got 10% for tinnitus and service connected for hearing loss rated at 0%. Denied service connection for depressive disorder. Denied service connection for obstructive sleep apnea. Currently appealing bilateral hearing loss of 0%. New file "PTSD" and "COPD". Thank you for what you are doing! Norm

hearing loss is probably a waste of time. you are now service-connected for hearing loss and you can have secondaries to it. Did you claim mental health secondary to tinnitus and hearing loss .? what were the reasons for your denial of mental health and sleep apnea. Best of luck
I only have a couple weeks before my ITF turns into a pumpkin, so I'm scrambling to ensure I'm getting my ducks lined up so I can submit soon. Your videos have been more helpful than I could have imagined! I would love a live class as I know I'll likely be filing Supplemental. I was med boarded out 22 years ago and had no idea what I should have claimed back then. This is my 4th ITF, but the only one I've ever committed to finishing. Where were you 22 years ago? haha! I'll keep an eye out for the live class. Thanks so much!
Great video, you provide very useful information in a manner easy to understand for lay folks. Yes, I would definitely be interested in learning more from you!
I’ve not been able to obtain a consistent answer when I ask this, and same goes for trying to find it in a reg…I know the general timelines for appeals and reopening claims to qualify for correct effective date and back pay etc. My question pertains mostly to when VA and even BVA has incorrectly (if provable and backed by in service medical evidence diagnosis DBQ Nexus Statements etc)denied claims in the past, that they either have correctly awarded currently or presumptive status validates what they formerly wouldn’t acknowledge as Service Connected…is there any pathway for a recourse option, where one can (likely with help from the accredited attorney) challenge the VA’s erroneous former denials, to receive the appropriate effective date award?
Have a scenario question. Dec 2018 - Have right shoulder pain complaint in STR August 2019 - Denied right shoulder pain due to not being chronic. Although they did acknowledge my STRs showed mild tendinopathy. 2024- Taking control of my claim and started the process of getting medical evidence for my right shoulder pain. Notified my VA Primary Care doc of my issue and he already had X-rays done. I am now scheduled for Physical Therapy on July 16th. My question is- would I be good to submit a supplemental claim already with the evidence I have so far (personal statement, stating pain to primary care doctor, having X-rays done) or should I wait to have at least my first physical therapy session? I figured it could take a month just to have my C&P and by then, my VA medical records should have my physical therapy session as well. Would love your input. Thanks

Question. I got out after serving from 04-09. I had rectal bleeding as soon as I got out. I had gastritis/gerd/hiatal hernia document with several private doctors. I know how a crap ton of breathing issues to. I just submitted in October of last year for some presumptive conditions. I do have service connected PTSD. My vsro submitted eveything as new conditions for burn pit exposure. If they don’t tie GERD to that, would they automatically look at making it seconds to ptsd or would I have to submit it as a secondary claim?
Hello Clay, I enjoy your content is very informative. I’m trying to file for a couple of secondary claims. I’m presently at 70%, all my treatment is through the VA and I have the diagnosis for the issues but no Nexus. I have tried contacting AME and they quoted me $5000 for two Nexus letters and I cannot afford that stuff, I’m not sure my options.
I was granted 10% last year. I immediately filed dependent (spouse) increase benefit but was denied. Since then, I have been granted 70%. When that was granted the VA automatically put that dependent increase claim back into pending review/evidence gathering queue. The good news is, they are saying the inception of that increase was last year when I initially filed. But it's going on two months now, and it's still in review. Does it normally take that long for VA to grant dependent (spouse) increase?
I was 10 percent when I submitted my Spousal information like you. When they added her back in, I knew they were working on my claims. You should be back dated to the point where your claims took you to at least 30 percent.

Does anyone know if you can submit an "Intent to File" in regards to a TDIU claim? Can you preserve your claim date while gathering the TDIU evidence?
I’d trade my 100% for never experiencing cancer. I’m only 25..
