Add valuable crash protection to your Kawasaki motorcycle by moving the point of impact and abrasion away from the frame, controls, and other vital components. These robust frame sliders can potentially save you thousands of dollars in repair costs after sustaining a crash on the street or track. Womet-Tech designed the high-density polymer slider material to promote sliding during a crash and avoid catching or snagging the ground surface. Every rider that has been in a crash before knows that proper protection can be the difference between crashing out for the day, or being able to ride off from the scene. For best results and maximum protection, we highly recommended installing the frame, fork, and swingarm crash protectors. - Авто/Мото
Make sure you use a rear stand because engine might droop just a little not allowing you to get bolt inside spacer between frame and engine. Also don’t tighten bolt all the way until you have both bolts in. If engine droops you may have to use a low profile rolling jack to slightly lift engine back in place. This is worst case scenario and I hope it doesn’t happen to you because it is not fun lol.
just happened to me, any ideas of how to fix it?
Just installed these and they are amazing… thanks for the walkthrough
You're welcome. Glad you are enjoying your parts and the video.
Great new parts, I really like videos with clear instructions like this. Well done.
Thanks! We actually shot the installations of all the crash protection components mentioned in this video. The other videos will launch soon. We are just juggling a few different bikes in the video order now so give us a week or so. Cheer!
Thanks for the instructions video. Pretty simple, put it on in few min, no sweat.
Great product, I laid my bike down today and the slider took a massive beating but seemed to have saved alot of my bike
Thanks for the instructional video.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks Bart!! I got my package kit for my 21 650 and the protection kit looks good with my imperial red and spark black ninja!!!
@@TSTindustries I sent photos to the email it won’t let me upload photos on your comments
Where on earth do I find the package?! Link would be soooo appreciated
2020 z650 my engine drooped. You might need a second person if you don’t have a stand. I did it in the order of the video and after I took the first bolt off my engine drooped a little bit, so I couldn’t slide the new bolt in. I had my dad lift the engine with a jack and try to slide the new bolt in while I sat on the bike and pushed down on the handle bars repeatedly and then it went in. Also loosen the bolt on the other side so the engine could move easier, but don’t take it out until you put the the new one in.
Tst is fantastic.....
Thank you
5 minute install you said?? Yeah right... It took me almost 4 hours. Why? Did everything in the Video tutorial. I am ex-military and can follow directions well. I even put the bike on the rear stand and used a jack with a piece of wood supporting the engine a little from the bottom of the engine. Un screwed the left side and went to put in the frame slider and engine had already drooped. I spent hours and after calling my neighbor who is a DIY mechanic, we tried multiple ways to get the engine to line up again.
My fix was to support the engine with the jack and loosen the right side almost to where the bolt was free. After that, I sat on the bike and he was able to get the left slider in place. I then tightened it but did not torque it yet. The right sided OEM bolt came out like butter though and I was able to get the right slider installed. I then torqued both sides down. It was a terrible Sunday afternoon to say the least.... Good luck all!
About to do this job. Just waiting for my kit to arrive. Someone posted to use rear stands before installing. I have rear and front stands, but wouldn't lifting the bike up from the back tip it forward thus adding more downward force due to the weight distribution? Seems like having the bike level using the kick stand would keep the engine weight even, if that makes sense? If TST could chime in that would be great. I would hate to have to deal with the engine drooping even doing one side at a time.
Also, I have 2 low profile jacks. Would it be a good idea to place a rubber puck or piece of wood somewhere below the engine if I can move the bottom fairing pieces out of the way enough? I was thinking maybe just have the rubber puck or wood butt up against to the oil pan, stator cover, or wherever else I can just to support it without jacking it up? Maybe I'm overthinking it LOL
can you post the link to the total protection pack? i cannot find it on the website
do you have frame sliders for kawasaki ninja 250cc (2009) ?
Any chance will you make a video showing how to install a DC Power Outlet Install? Really having a hard time removing the fairing on this motorcycle. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
That will not be happening anytime soon. We typically make tutorials for parts made by us and our partner companies.
Bro does it have vibration problem. Because I want to buy Ninja 650
Used this video to help me install Shogun sliders. Great video. Thanks.
Well, we aimed to help our customers with the installation of our components but you know....I am still happy that we helped another rider just have a better experience with their bike and their equipment choice. This is still a win for TST Industries. Thanks!
Quiero unos, pero Vivo en México, se pueden enviar?
I’ve installed my TST frame slider (right side) and it seems the bolt isn’t long enough.. and it appears to sit crooked. The left side looks great and the bolt looks plenty long. I followed your steps thoroughly. But literally hand tightening it still didn’t give it enough of “extra bolt” (on the inside where the thread lock bolt sits) after tightening it down.
man my looks that way too. it made me think the engine dropped. but i did exactly what the video said.
OK, something went awry with your installation. Please contact our customer support staff through our website to get help with this.
I installed the total protection pack for 2023 Kawasaki Ninja 650. Install was easy thnx to your vid. One issue is I can rotate one of the frame slider puck easily with my hand. Is the puck supposed to rotate? Only 1 does it and I tried switching them around but same issue.
The amuminum spacer inside the puck has a tolerance of length and sometimes they end up on the plus side. We checked with Womet and they said that its ok. It does not affect the performance of the sliders.
@TSTindustries I put the spacers on the end of the rod and one of them spun much easier than the other. I'm glad it won't impact performance but would it be possible to just have the spacer sent to me?
Is it typical that the right frame slider sticks out between quarter to half inch further than the left?
Yes.
My engine mount is lowered now I can't align my spacer fell off now how to lift the bike back to alignment please help 🙏.
please take a look at this video. It will help you out. ruclips.net/video/R1jpU1BwXss/видео.html
If that left side spacer falls out do you mean replace it by putting in a new spacer or just putting the one that fell out back in? And is the spacer that grey colored cylinder I’m seeing inside between the metric housing for the nut and where the bolt goes in? I want to order these but just afraid of working on my brand new bike until I have it all down.
If it falls out you just replace it with the existing one, no need for replacement. This is a very simple installation if you just follow our steps. The spacer is the cylindrical metal part that sits between the frame and the cylinder head.
Just installed them!!!! Easy peasy!!
Can someone tell me the right torque for the 2020 kawasaki ninja 650? Looks like is 32 pounds, but I'm not sure about it.
For what...the frame to motor connection at the front of the head? Where we just installed these frame sliders? I don't know what exactly you are asking about but if you are tightening OE bolts in that location you go to 32 ft-lb. If you are installing the kit shown in this video then use the instructions contained within the video.
Can you use blue lock tight when installing?
The nuts in this kit have a locking feature. Threadlocking compound is redundant and also will make removal real difficult. So you can use it but it is not advised.
Make sure the bike is completely cool first
Can you please list the equipment I require to fit these ???
At the 0:29 timestamp we list the tools…
Hello is the left frame slider (while sitting on bike) suppose to stick out less compared to the right frame slider ?
They are designed to protrude the same distance from the center plane of the bike. The engine and its frame mounts are offset asymmetrically from center so this is why one side slider has to be shorter than the other.
@@TSTindustries ok thx, thought i stripped a screw with my torque on the left side lol started getting nervous for a second haha
All parts seem out out stock. Any idea when they will be available?
We just got a replenishment from Womet-Tech two weeks ago but these parts did not make it on this shipment. We try to get them to send whatever they have every three or so weeks but they have fallen behind in recent weeks. If you drop your email address in the notification box on each part page you are waiting for you will be sent a message as soon as our website has stock put in.
Available for ninja 400 2020 ABS?? Thank u.
The Ninja 400 requires a different type of frame sliders. You can see that video here: ruclips.net/video/-oF4wKpKm3Q/видео.html
Is it a noticeable difference if I upgrade from a 2016 r3 to a 2020 ninja 650? Or should I just go with the zx6r?
Heck ya but get a 636! They are badass bro just one and the shift is butter..i owned the 2017ninja650 and the difference is crazy! 4 cylinder ❤❤
Bash Em! Thanks bro. Gotta experience the 636 while I’m young. I can get the more upright riding style when I’m old lol
@@gearmeout4666 same thing i said. You feel more in there too, at first it was a little uncomfortable because im used to the upright and felt me putting my weight on the bars. Got the hang of it. And the seat locks you in too..
Bash Em! How much did you pay for yours?
@@gearmeout4666 paid 13,500
Can you please make these in green??
You would have to send that request to Womet-Tech in Poland as they are the manufacturer of these.
Did the left side first as instructed, the bolt took some effort to remove with the pliers. Got the slider on with no problem.. while removing the bolt from the right side, I was able to easily remove the bolt with no effort just using my fingers.. is that okay that the right side came out so easily?
What is the exact tool used for the oem bolt removal? You said pliers in tour original message but that is perhaps a mistake. As far as the torque of your bolts upon removal, I cannot make an assessment that would be useful as an answer unless you can quantify the torque you had to overcome for the bolts to release.
TSTindustries I used the 14mm socket to remove the nut, but then I used the needle nose pliers to remove the bolt .. while pulling the left side bolt with the pliers, it took a lot of force to pull it out .. on the right side , after the bolt was free from the nut, there was almost no force needed to remove the bolt
@@nickheidkamp1272 gotcha...that is just how the motor is hanging in the frame. It is pretty typical. In an optimal placement with the frame being manufactured 100% correct to design both sides would come out as easy as your easiest side.
I had to same problem but with the right side. When I went to put the frame slider on the bolt seemed too short. Also sat crooked. Left side looks fine. I definitely followed this video thoroughly and this was my outcome.
is it the same procedure for a zx6r ?
It is very similar. The parts and hardware are slightly different and the tightening torque is a bit different. Each kit comes with a paper instruction that specifies which parts belong in each location and the bolt tightening torque.
What size torque wrench do you suggest using?
That depends on the socket sizes you have. In this video I was using a 3/8 drive system with a range of 15-75 ft-lb. If your sockets take a 3/8 drive then use that size torque wrench with a range that can accomplish the tightening torque that was specified.
@@TSTindustries thanks for the prompt response!
Hello. On my z650, the right bolt only protrudes 3 turns of the nut, the left bolt about 2 centimeters. Is it supposed to be like that? I'm afraid the right side will unscrew from the vibration.
I believe that this is the kind of question that I cannot answer without seeing what you are seeing. You can submit photos along with this question through the customer service portal on our website. This will be the best way for us to get enough data to answer intelligently.
I have the same issue on my 650. The right side bolt appears to be too short and it sits a little crooked. I follow this video thoroughly and this is where I ended up at. Left side was easy and sits fine. Even though that bolt appears to be too long because I have more than 2 cm of extra bolt sitting on the inside. At first I thought I had the bolts switched around but no he said the shorter bolt goes on the right side.
My ninja 650 did the exact same thing with this kit. The right side slider seems to be a bit further out from the frame also, there are a few threads showing past the lock nut. The left side has a couple centimeters showing past the lock nut and seems to have less slider past the fairings.
@@hec12005 at first I thought i put the wrong bolt on the wrong side but I didn’t.. idk. I threw loctite on it for peace of mind. (Don’t have a need to take it off)
@@shawnkurtisTV mine hasn’t shown any signs of loosening with the supplies lock nut, I do wish they both jutted out equally though as the left side seems to be getting minimal protection. Oh well, they look nice at least.
Did anyone get noticeably more vibration throughout the bike after installing frame sliders??? I have the bolts torqued to spec with correct installation, but the vibration is still there and extremely annoying
None of the bikes we have done here have this symptom.
@@TSTindustries the ones I have installed aren’t TST, which is why I was hoping these would be better, not sure what changed but after installing the shogun frame sliders, constant vibration
@@NoDayz0ff unfortunately I don't have experience analyzing the Shogun kit assembly on a physical 650 so I can't comment or help you much. If you think about where the vibration can originate then it is feasible that you can conclude that the hardware does not clamp the top of the motor to the frame. Shogun has been around for years so I don't think they would release a kit that doesn't clamp the connection adequately. I am not really a fan of that brand, and I am heavily subjective because we do out own stuff here at TST, but I think perhaps you should just go through the instructions again and see if maybe you missed something.
Yeah still taking it to the dealership but good vid

Can these be installed while the bike is on the side stand?
I don't see why not.
Sometimes I wonder why bikes don't come standard with crash protection...
