Beautifull Build !!! TY for shovving all the vvork that vvent into it . The extra large tires must give it fantastic grip in snovv/sand/gravel/dirt & its novv vvay safer than as a 3 vvheeler. VVanted to ask though , vvhat the top speed you're getting out of it vv/the 420 & tourque converter ? TY again& vvishing you many years of safe & fun riding .
Thanks Roger! Believe it or not the mega bike hasn’t been worked on since this video was uploaded. We got hammered with snow this past winter and I moved on to other projects. The plan is to start working on it again this summer.
@@nate32185 Thats understandable especially vv/lots of snovv . Having other projects to do helps though. Hope you get the chance to sort the Honda out & keep up the great vvork !
What did you do for transmission? looks like there's a box on the side for a CVT, did that engine come with that? and where you had those two identical sprockets on the left rod of your swingarm, why not use that as an opportunity for more reduction, that way you don't need such a big rear sprocket that will drag in the mud?
It has 40 series torque converter. It did not come with the engine. I had the same thought on swapping out the jack shaft sprockets for added gear reduction. I still need to complete this project and see how the current gearing is.
I’m in Vermont. Just checked out your 200s bike. Pretty cool. A lot of the criticism I got was not using the Honda engine. I would like to do another build with a chain driven Honda 3-wheeler.
@@nate32185 I have 2 more that I'm building, both with suspension. Build what you like and do it how you want. People that criticize can build their own shit. They usually don't build ANYTHING. I'm up in North Pole, Alaska. Your neighborhood looks a lot like the military housing up here.
That came out Beautiful!!! I really need to get started on my 200S build which will be very similar to yours. Also need to start my YZ250F/Predator build. Great Job!!! What's next?
Thanks John, you should document those builds. I love seeing other people’s custom stuff. Next I have to do final touches on the mega bike and hopefully I’ll start the go kart snowmobile project.
I was wondering when someone would notice that. Yes, it is the left side tire from the big red. I left it that way during building. It will be corrected when complete.
@@nate32185 rear tire on backwards, well close enough lol, if thats the only thing that went wrong i say u aibt got much to worry about. Also i got a 250r atc and i want bigger rear tires and i cant find them. I was thinkibg about taking the rear axles of a dune buggy. Whats your opinion?
The bike isn’t 100% complete yet. Winter hit us pretty early this year and my focus has shifted to other projects. I’ll be getting back to the Mega bike soon. As far as top speed, not sure yet. Too many ice patches to test. I’m guessing 40-50mph. It’s geared 9.33/1. However the engine isn’t governed and is paired with a CVT. I geared it pretty low for climbing hills.
@@nate32185 that is fast! 32 kph is top speed on my bike at around 3800 rpm. final ratio is 7.99/1 since removed the cvt and i am running an industrial clutch because of alignment issues under load.
Top speed will be 24-28 mph with that ratio. Not a bad thing if you want torque, but just saying... my custom cafe racer minibike has a 7” driven torque converter with 45 tooth rear sprocket ungoverned and tops out at 47 moh. weighs only 119 lbs.
This is definitely a cool project but part of me can’t help but feel bad for chopping up something that’s getting more hard to find and turning it into something completely different
I think you’re doing an excellent job but have to disagree on one thing you’re Mocked 1’ shaft isn’t big enough most of the bearing weight will be constant along with the heavy hits”Bumps” you should think about minimum that will hold up 1.5” shaft. Just my opinion.
Thanks for the compliment and opinion. The go-kart axle should be plenty strong. It’s meant for karts that are heavier than the bike. The ninja buggy has a 1 1/4” axle and that thing takes quite a pounding.
Too many people are hacking these things up and going backwards in technology and power with the shitty engines they’re putting in them. I assure you the overhead cam timing chain engines these things came with are way better in comparison to the shitty pushrod engines people are putting in them. A stock Honda atc 200s 200cc is 13 hp the atc 200x 200cc is 18hp the trx 300cc is 22 hp as much as the 670 v twin but less than half the size and half the cylinders. Why do people still run pushrod junk they are heavier and make less power
Geez man...hate much? I wanted to build a fat tire mini bike with full suspension. The big red I picked up was bound for the scrap yard. I saved it a breathed new life into it. The engine is shaft drive and I don’t have the know how on converting shaft to chain. I’ve been playing around with Honda clone engines and go karts for a while now. I am well aware of the power to expect from this engine. I also own 2 running big reds and the power is pretty comparable. With the bikes power to weight ratio and high gear ratio it’s plenty fast.
If you build another use the 200s engine but put a higher compression piston a 200x cam a flat slide carb port and polish the head stiffer clutch springs and new clutch plates I guarantee it would make this thing look slow
The 200s would make more power rev higher weigh less and lose less of its power through its chain drive only a 3% power loss on motorcycles through chain than the 13% that thing loses through its cvt even more power is lost through a shaft drive set up like 25%
Hello great build wish I had two of them one for me and one for my wife very nice have fun.
I thought you were going the straight swap the trike....but you know what, the mega bike looks great.
Now you gotta swap in an R1 or a GSXR!!
That’s one nice looking neighborhood
Nice build
nice build i made one out of a 250r 200x 200s and a 185 250r is the most fun out of all of them
The 250r better have the stock motor lol
The rear tire is on backwards...Good build though great welding.
i like it man cool build but it would be cooler if it still had the honda big red motor
Thanks, If the Honda engine ran I probably would have tried. It would have been a little tougher though as it’s shaft drive.
u should try to find like a honda 200 chain driven for it it would be cool if it had gears but still a very cool build👍.
The stock engine would’ve been way more powerful too
Yes and if it had gears it would be funner to
Would be cool with a 200x or even a 200s engine the 200x is 18hp stock 200s is 13hp. Idk what a 250 is for hp but definitely more than this engine.
Awesome build man! I've got a honda 200m I want to do this to if I cant get the engine and rear end fixed in it.
Thank the lord he didnt tear those other two down, seeing one being ruined was enough
Really cool bike

very very good

Nice job guys! You've definitely got skills. That rear sprocket is a little big, eh?
Thanks! Yeah, the rear sprocket is ridiculous! It’s geared to be torquey. Might have to lighten it with some holes.
Why did u decide to go predator 420 over the duromax 440cc engine?
Nothing against DuroMax engines, I have more experience with the predator 420 and it’s available locally.
Hey how much you know about these 3 wheelers I need some help with mine
I am fairly new to Honda ATC’s. I am starting to dig into the 85’ 250es. Trying to get her running first then a full restore.
What is that rear tire?
AMS Black Widow 25x12-9

Maybe later on. My plan is to restore the 85 and run both of them this winter. If I sell one it would be the 86.
