- Brandon's Ruckus is getting so close to being done. In this video, we reinstall the factory wiring harness along with the Rolling Wrench wiring harness. We finish terminating all remaining cables and wires and even install underglow on the frame and seat. By the end of this video, we should be able to start this thing up!

Awesome! I'm glad we could help inspire you! What kinda plans do you have for your bike?
@@MikesMiniMotors i just buy a ruckus 2019
@@eugeniobarjau1399 Awesome! I hope you have an much fun working on it as I have on mine. If you have any questions that I could possibly help you out with, just let me know. You could message me on Facebook or Instagram.
The best wiring harness for the Gy6 was the Makoa harness. That don't sell them anymore..
I've heard of Makoa Scooters, but never had a chance to use any of their products. Out of curiosity, what made the Makoa Harness the best? I seen that you have to use a vacuum-fed fuel pump, which I would rather stick with the electric OEM pump.
@@MikesMiniMotors It started off as a stock ruckus harness then modified for Gy6, clean look. Vacuum pumps aren't bad but that's not your only option, I'm running an electric fuel pump by Extreme Powder Coaters with Makoa.
What a dope bike!!!
Thanks a lot! We are really happy with how Brandon's bike turned out too.
Dang dude this build is sick, do you do builds like this for business ?
Thanks! Currently, I have built my own bike and this one for Brandon. I would love to built these as a business! But I don't think I would have too much business being in a small town in Montana. Who knows though...
Neat
Thanks! :D
i hooked up my evi motorbrain but i keep hearing ticking sounds, is it the old sparkplug wiring trying to connect or did i do something wrong?
Where is the clicking coming from? From the EVI Brain? If you swapped to a GY6, you shouldn't have the old spark plug wire and coil on there.
I would double check all of the wiring hookups and confirm all of them are correct to rule that out as a possibility. Double check all the pins in the connectors, as these pins can get bent really easily if the connectors are not put together gently. If all that checks out, but the clicking is still present, it may be best to reach out to Matt at Rolling Wrench. He would probably be the best resource to figure out what is going on with the EVI Brain since it is his product after you have done the troubleshooting steps I mentioned.
@@MikesMiniMotors it wasnt from the motorbrain, i also did remove the old plugs when installing and i think the ticking sound may be the fuel pump.
Oh, ok. I thought you meant it was from the EVI. The fuel pump does click, especially right when the key gets turned on. FYI, when my fuel pump started clicking louder, it ended up dying on me and needed to be replaced.
@@MikesMiniMotors thanks so much, illkeep an eye on that!
What wiring loom did you use?
Both sizes we used came from Amazon. I know the 1/4" linked below is what Brandon purchased, but I am not 100% sure the link below for the 1" is the same brand that we used.

@@MikesMiniMotors ok thanks
What about the wiring to the stater
The wiring for the starter is just a straight shot from the starter solenoid to the screw connection on the starter for your 12VDC, and a straight shot from the negative battery post to a mounting screw on the starter for ground.
Stator* I'm sorry
Oh, the stator that comes from Rolling Wrench just plugs right into the stock harness. It is super simple.
Where did you buy that engine?
If I remember correctly, Brandon picked his up from www.theruckshop.com, and I purchased mine from www.rollingwrenchdenver.com
Build a gy6 150cc without the stretch look
I'm not personally a fan of the non-stretched, skinny tire look. But if someone hired me to build one, I would do it! Even the "non-stretched" GY6 swaps do still stretch the stance out, but just not as much as like my Ruckus. Rolling Wrench sells a kit for this type of swap, and you can see photos of it in the link.
