Is the 2021 Toyota Camry TRD the BEST sport sedan for the price?

- The Camry TRD seems to be the last of its kind from Toyota. Under the hood is a 3.5L V6 that produces 301HP & is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. On the outside the Camry TRD get a totally unique front fascia, aero kit, 19in wheels, and cat-back exhaust. On the inside the TRD takes the lower spec route with an updated 7in infotainment system, but has special seats and other touches that are TRD specific. Ia the 2021 Toyota Camry TRD the BEST sport sedan for the price?

Toyota Camry and Honda Accord keep exchanging punches year in year out
And while the two did that Mazda slid into the #1 spot.
@@kellyyyanneee how? Mazda doesn't compare to honda or toyota in reliability the rear ends aren't multi link either like honda and toyota so reliability and ride is already out of the question performance honda has it with the 2.0T and 10 speed it's the quickest on the market in this segment so explain why mazda is #1.

Hi
For this un-exotic, attainable sedan, Joe gives one of his best, funny, entertaining, and informative reviews. Thanks for 110% every time!
That really means a lot Jamie!
You are the best reviewer out there. No one can release the same level of quality that you do at the same upload rate. I really appreciate all the effort you put into your videos.

4:17 wow she's really working that camera. Bravo to whatever school she went to 🙌
Much appreciated
Thanks for taking the time to say that! Lori went to MiIZOU
10:28 you actually CAN get the 9-inch infotainment on the TRD. It's a $1,585 option (it adds the JBL sound system as well. you're not just getting 2 extra inches of screen lol)
Thanks for sharing that great info!
@@RaitisRides definitely !
I already brought the car, can I get that added on?
Mine has JBL and fog lights.
i appreciate how funny he is, makes watching these reviews even more enjoyable. and also i think the regular xse v6 would be a better decision. you’re still getting the power but you’re getting more conveniences: pano sunroof, 9 incher, nicer seats (especially in the cockpit red color)🥵, bigger digital dashboard and rear ac, etc.
Thanks for letting me share the laughs and the cars with you! I agree about the XSE.
I love how this Camry looks. I would love to have one, but I keep thinking that the TRD trims should also have more power, maybe turbocharged engines.
Toyota won't do that because they're all about reliability. They would probably use a bigger na engine
For a camry, I’d say it’s pretty fast
It doesn't needs more power . Isn't it 300+HP?
Thanks for sharing your perspective with this one Omar.

Great camera work as usual, Lori!
Thanks Mario for letting us bring it all to you!
I love the syling of the TRD but I wish it had just a little bit more performance. Shout out to Lori!
Thanks for showing Lori some love!
Agreed! The TRD looks so good and looks even better in person but it needs a bump in torque.
I mean this car is not supposed to be that fast. Its a midsize vehicle. If you want torque and speed then get the Supra.
Or at least a better tuned transmission. That’s where it’s main downfall is at.
@@TsukiTino TRD
I bought the LE version 2.5 ltr..... 2024 model. And it is awesome..... Still very smooth and well fast..... Thanks to Toyota to give us a good quality car in medium budget.

I have the 2019 Toyota Camry as a hybrid and I am very satisfied. Love my Toyota Camry and recommend it to everyone. Nice greetings from Germany ✌
Thanks for sharing that input from your experience! I appreciate you watching from across the pond.
Got mine May of last year. It has some real shortcomings compared to the competition. And made up for all of them with a naturally aspirated engine and no stuck on infotainment screen. The exhaust sound is a nice bonus. That could be added to any of the others, but it will make them more expensive.
Thanks for sharing that great input from your ownership!
I have to disagree, Toyota could have delivered better for TRD, it’s anticlimactic
im from the Philippines and im a big fan. i learned so many about cars because of your channel. thanks bro

Just bought a 2022 TRD and had all windows tinted 20%. It looks awesome! After some LED accented after market headlights and tail lights it will be right on point. The K5 Kia is an awesome car too , but my Camry with markups was only 38k vs. 41k for the K5 GTs in my area. Great reviews on cars some of us can afford👍

I went ahead and got a Honda accord before they got rid of the manual transmission. But I'm not going to lie, this Camry especially spec out like this, is very nice!

Great job on the review. One thing to point out. The rear seats in the TRD model do NOT fold down. Not a big deal for me. But just thought some people might care. All the other Camry back seats fold down. The TRD model has additional Bracing behind the back seats for better handling. So they didn’t make the back seats folding because if they did then the bracing would be in the way anyways.
I was told by Toyota dealership my TRD has a "role bar", (Racing Development package )and that's why the seats don't fold down?
Hi Joe. The camry trd looks sick. Also, I have some great news to share with you. I don't know if you know this, but the Chicago Auto Show just announced that it will host the show this year from July 15-19. I hope to see you there again.

One of the two kings of the midsize Sedan. The Camry is a beast on it's own. ON THROTTLE!!! 日本が大好きです!!!!
I always loved the Camry TRD. If it came in a manual it would have been on the shortlist. Well done Joe!
First, a correction at 17:00. TRD seat DOES NOT fold down because they installed chassis cross bracing in there.
However, I got it because a solid engine, the chassis is great, and non turbo so should just really last.
that thing handles surprisingly well around those corners

just add a few more floor mats and you'll have 350hp

Love my 2020 TRD. Everything about it is awesome
Thanks!
I'd rather have the "normal" top trim Camry as a daily driver over this TRD lol, its really just more black plastic compared to actual sport cars in my honest opinion. Great review as always, made sure to let us know the bug is not included haha
I know how you feel!
I just drove both models. The TRD is substantially more planted then an XSE--the body roll in high speed sweepers is actually flat--not quite as good as my 2020 AWD Stinger GT--but seems better and less twitchy then a Type R Civic. The TRD also feels even mor stable at very high HWY speeds then the already good XSE.It is a good balance ebtween sport and comfort and is more comfortable as a cruiser then my stinger--even though I have not scraped anything--my Stinger sits pretty low.
@@khronin so which is better? the TRD or XSE V6?
@@mhmyuhh XSE v6 is more of a feature-packed sporty sedan, but the TRD is a sport-FOCUSED sedan. also the price is quite different between the two, so it’s up to your budget to decide.
Drove both XSE V6 and TRD, yes it has the same performance but you do notice the difference in handling and stopping power. I went with the TRD since I didn’t care too much for the sunroof, heated seats, leather and heads up display. Not to mention that you don’t really see too many TRDs out on the road, you see a lot of SEs, LEs and XSEs.
Love my Camry! I am on my second one! Many years of reliable and enjoyable experience

Great review. I just bought mine today the same color. I use to own 2 STI’s but now I’m at the point I just want something sporty and reliable that doesn’t break the bank and looks great with no regrets.
I have the 2020 Toyota Avalon TRD. I've seen the Camry TRD like 6 times since last yr. I love the car but now I honestly hate that it doesn't have more hp & torque lol. The look & catback exhaust makes it seem faster than what it really is which is why people don't try to take me at a red light lmao
@@mutualdecline2174 I feel ya. I’m slowly accepting that it’s a show no go car. But I’m ok with that for now. More because I know what it’s not but really enjoy being in a car that stands out at my age
@@FaithfulSteve Yea no doubt. I'm gonna sell it because it sits too low to the ground. I was afraid to drive it in the winter so I drove my 08 impala. It has less torque than the Avalon but it sits a little higher off the ground. The value on Toyota's are great, good gas mileage & they're reliable so the sporty look is a plus but I'm gonna sell it save up some money & get a faster car
@@mutualdecline2174 I hear ya. I pray that I’m content. So far so good for me. Yeah Toyota and Subaru are my go to’s for reliability and resale value. Heck I looked on Carmax right now and they have a 2020 TRD with 6k miles on it for $37,999. That’s $4k more than what I bought my 2021 TRD
@@FaithfulSteve Dude I did the trade in value through a Genesis dealer about 3 weeks ago & they offered a little over 35k. I checked kellybluebook & the range was from 35k-37k. Less than a week ago I went through a Acura website & they offered 38k so I was like what the hell. I check kellybluebook & the range changed. It said 35.5k to 38k. Mine u that my car only has 783 miles on it as I drive my impala alot more often than the Avalon. I went through carmax but it said I'll have to bring it in to get an offer. If I can get 38k then I'll be able to pocket a little bit of change. Idk if I should go to a dealer or carmax
Good review Joe! I think they did a nice job on styling and suspension and thank goodness for giving the sport package a really sporty engine instead of a wheezy turbo 4. I'd consider one🤓👍
I am so glad that I could bring this one to you!
Seriously Toyota never disappoints
Right now not a single car in their line up is boring they have a hatchback version of the Corolla not to forget the Supra and the GT 86 that they have in agreement with Subaru and it’s just amazing honestly
2020 Corolla Le I rented last week has a very nice zip...good throttle.

I know your reviews are always daytime and shot all at once, but if possible wish you could do a brief night time shot of the led running lights and add it to the video. nice touch - the front grill in black achieve the big giant grille effect like avalon & lexus. no point keeping the horizontal faceplate, let upper and lower grill combine seamlessly into a big giant grill
For $33k that is a lot of car. The Kia Stinger GT-Line is one competitor that should also be considered. It definitely has a more expensive MSRP but it also has more performance.
The AWD Stinger GT-Line tops out at $41k but there are good discounts on them that make it more reasonable.
You are so very right!
I’d absolutely buy that one! Car Wizard would give me his seal of approval after buying the Toyota Camry TRD because Toyota is the best selling brand out there bc they’re so reliable. I’m more of a Dodge guy but I’d absolutely buy a Toyota for pure reliability!
Joe, We need a book full of all your innuendos and jokes 🤣
I pulled next to one of these today and it honestly made me take a second look. I noticed the trd badge and the whole car looked good. I think it’s a sweet deal. Putting into perspective I got my 2017 Audi A4 premium ultra ( base model) with 50k miles for 29 thousand. If I would’ve searched around more and ran into one of these I think I would’ve for sure would have gotten into one of these instead for the price. Specifically the TRD model.
What color was it, the one you pulled next to? And what color would you get? I have a black metallic 2022 on order
It was like the one in the video all black. Looked clean 🧼. I would probably get the same color all black or check out the different color options of red is available id go for red. But idk the car looks super basic inside but you can’t go wrong with Toyota.
