    I own a 2017 F Pace, 2.0D AWD with 100'000 km and the car had absolutely NO ISSUES 'till now. Not even small glitches or malfunctions. However I'm doing regular maintenance and every 3 months I reset all the "ghost faults" that accumulate over time with my diagnostic tool. The best car I ever had.

    I love my F-Pace (MY2018 25T Petrol) and it was the first second-hand car purchase since coming out of my company car scheme. Likewise, it has not left me stranded anywhere although it has suffered from a failed deployable towbar (I never use it) that was replaced under warranty and a stretched timing chain resulting in a new chain being fitted under warranty. Our petrol XE has also been relatively trouble free. I think the message about looking after your car especially regular oil changes is key - ours do no more than 5-6K miles per year but still get regular oil changes etc. Look forward to the changing brake discs/pads video - I can recommend Brembo discs and TRW pads.

      I have this model - did you get the dreaded rattle on startup and take it to a garage who diagnosed the timing chain? What mileage was it at that point? I imagine Jag are regretting using a bicycle chain for a 4 cylinder engine now...

    • @martind511
      @martind511 2 месяца назад

      No noticeable rattle, I had an engine management light come on which initially was diagnosed as faulty vvt solenoids. These were changed and the engine management came back on after a couple weeks which then identified the stretched timing chain. This was at 44k miles. It has been fine since although I traded it in a couple of weeks ago for another (facelift) F-Pace.

      @@martind511 Thank you, they're the scary ones, when there's no rattle! That's eerie, mine had the EML come on a few weeks ago which were diagnosed as faulty VVT solenoids. Personally I hope my EML does come back on so I can have the chain replaced under warranty. JLR should pay for that on a car with 40k miles, clearly the chain isn't fit for purpose.

    2019 f-pace r-sport owner, 160k kms on the dash, had 2 issues, telematic unit is bust so the simcard don't work, and recently the car amplifier stopped working, i saw the part at ebay for $200 CAD and my mechanic charges $90 to replace it, so it isn't bad, everything else is good.

    Great video. Ive previously owned a 2.0 diesel f-pace, I had stop start issues in that it would fail to engage. I loved the car but ended up trading it in for an x5 hybrid. Two years later I’m back in another f-pace and loving it, this time a 3.0 S petrol, sounds incredible and usually returns 30 mpg. Ticks all my boxes for a fun family bus. You should do a comparison video between the two models, same car but totally different down to the engine.

    Interesting bit about not shutting down after a service. I was told mine was ready to pick up, but when I went to get it they said it wasn't shutting down properly and they needed to do an update. They gave me a loan car for a day while they sorted it.

    I have had three of the F pace Jags. My first was the 35 and had it 6 months bit wanted the S model and found a great deal on a Green one. sold my 35 for what I paid for it. drove the green one for two years and traded for a porsche Cayenne. like the car but someone ran into me and totaled it. I went back to the F pace S. love it. I did have trouble with my Green 2017 when it blew and engine at 53,000 miles. out of warranty but Jaguar covered it and gave me a range rover to drive for a month. defective engine. love the car.

    Have 2018 model 25T petrol purchased August 2017. Just went over 100,000 miles in USA. Emergency key cover on the driver's door handle fell off in a spray car wash after an ice strorm. Coolant got low once, but problem went away. Those are the only problems I've had.
    I only do the recommended service with oil change once a year. Replaced both batteries at 4 years. This 2024 year I spent thousands of dollars to replace the timing chains because I was scared that they would eventually break, even though there was nothing wrong with them.
    I'm about due for an alignment and new brake pads after 100,000 miles. Might look into replacing some of the rubber and plastic parts as preventive measures. Should also add more ceramic coating, as that is now 6 years old.
    Why keep investing in this car? Because it's so nice to drive, is the right size and weight (light) for my needs, and it's a beautiful British Racing Green 💚 color. Too bad that color is no longer offered by Jaguar.

    I've had my 2016 2.0D F-Pace since 2017 and now it has around 50,000km. No big issues with it, and never left me stranded. Here are the small stuff though: The driver side window won't go up, if it was lowered using the auto-down first. Shut the car of, lock it and restart to fix. The other one, that's actually to worry about, is the gear selector knob not popping up with the engine started. That was going on intermittently for some time before it kind of went away on it's own, for now. And that's about it.

    I am having a very bad experience. Mine is still under warranty. At this point my transfer case is leaking and I was told that this is because of used a different brand tyre which has different threading when one of my tyre got flat and warranty won’t cover it for same reason. Jaguar customer service told me that they only manufacture car and they don’t sell it. So it is dealer s decision to provide warranty or not as they are the sellers of the car.

    USB / Apple car play dropping out. If it was when the phone battery was lower it’s due to the usb power not being strong enough to charge and do CarPlay at the same time. You can get a dual usb power cable which uses both sockets to feed one usb and that solved it for me 😎
