    I have a 35t with over 150K on it, never failed an inspection ... just did an engine oil and coolant flush and everything is clean. Compression still on the high side of good. So, yeah, take care of it and it will take care of you.

    You need an independent Jaguar shop like we have in the USA. You can save a TON of money

    It's a good car. I have a 2018 F-Pace, no problems. Keep it, but change oil and filter every 10000Km

    I think that recommending new tyres when you’re around 50% wear is an indicator that you wasted a few quid on the donuts?

    Jag Tech in Nottingham are an independent Jaguar specialist.All there staff are ex jaguar employees. A service is half the price of a jaguar main dealer and you get excellent customer service. Cannot praise enough if you live in the Nottinghamshire area

    The Jaguar dealer I use (Stratstone) have copies of Jaguar Enthusiast, magazines in their waiting area. In there you will find a lot of highly regarded independents specialists. A chat with any of those guys may help you out of your dilemma. I also have two Jags - they just feel so special. Keep up the good work 👍

    Hello , just came accross your channel. Good to see someone working on a Jaguar. I just boought a 2017 xf 2l diesel last year myself.
    My recommendation to you would be to do the car maintenace on the car yourself. You appear failrly confident , jusy watched your video on installing the phone charger so doing the maintenance on your car yourself sould not be a problem. Why is the next service so expensive?

    Interesting video as always Grant. You have less than 18 months to part X into a new F-Pace if swapping like for like. Sadly that ship has sailed with equivalent spec Sportbrakes for me so I am keeping mine as long as financially possible.

    I've had 3 F Paces now and I swap them for new and I just have the one service just before the MOT is due and the warranty is still valid - and F Paces' do hold their value well.
    Granted I don't do colosally high mileages and I just have the one service to pay for (around £440) which lasts 2 years. I suppose it depends how much dosh you have - in the end.

    I just bought a 2016 F-Pace S 3L V6 with 230k km. The price was good of course, but with that come issues. It didn't arrive yet, the engine was running fine on the live call and no lights on the dash. What should I expect, timing chain? What fails around these kms? Will check the book when it arrives for service intervals.
    I was also wondering how big of a cost difference will be between my 2016 Kia Sportage 2L diesel GT Line and this. I was paying around 250-300euros for an oil service for the Kia to give an example. I can do most of other things myself, I did a drain and fill on the 6AT myself and other small maintenance things.

    I hsve similar dilemma on my 66 plate F-pace. I was not aware of heading for a massive next service bill? But... also our lifestyle has changed hugely as my husband has dementia, the dog is nearing the end so am thinking of looking for something a bit smaller to go with the f-type. But what??? I'm not keen on E-pace and don't want to leave the marque ❤ but I may have to jump ship!! BIG decision ahead😢😂

    I would recommend moving to an independent, but only one what is JLR authorised and so is able to access and update the official JLR service record history for your car, and so maintain the car’s full life service history.

    Servicing is your choice, but I would advise never to use a main dealer for an MOT. A BMW dealer failed me on break disks. I took it elsewhere as had only replaced the year before and they couldn’t understand why it failed. The same disks passed 3 more MOT’s before I sold it.

  • @Kingofwhiteley1
    @Kingofwhiteley1 3 месяца назад

    Considering that new car tyres have around 8-9mm of tread on them, it's a bit cheeky of the dealer to suggest replacement when they are only 50% worn and still very useable.

      It’s a consideration. However I have the F Pace with the SVR engine and I done feel I need two 5.0 V8s, especially when this one is my daily that sits on the motorway. If I ever go down to one car, that would definitely be an option

    Unless its age related, what date is on the tyres ?

  • @kriskantu

    You have been looking after your F Pace so you know the condition. If you get another (newer) car to replace your F Pace, bear in mind lower mileage doesn't necessarily mean the car had been looked after and driven with the same care. The steep depreciation is gone so unless you want a new car, you are not going to lose much money driving it for another year or two.

    • @MrGB_UK
      @MrGB_UK  10 месяцев назад

      That’s a really good point. Better the devil you know I suppose…
      I’m not desperate for a new car just now, but don’t want to be left with something f that has devalued excessively through my actions if I decide to upgrade in a year or so…

    There must be a specialist Jaguar Landrover garage you could turn to, that's not the main dealer, if you don't want to do everything yourself. I live in Vancouver, there's a couple with good reputations that I would trust. Main dealer is good here, but very pricy.

    What has your overall experience of the F-pace been like? Considering one myself, although I’d love an F-type as first choice. Will come down to pros and cons between the two. Having to consider practicality is a bummer sometimes.
    Based on your stats it would seem to be a wise choice to hang on to yours for a while longer, shift to a specialist for the service, MOTs etc and continue a little smugly knowing you’ve got a great car instead of having to invest tons in a new model, whether a Defender, Aston or Jag. These are crazy times financially and spending a lot on a hunk of metal (I.e. most cars) that depreciates quicker than any politicians honesty would smack a little of lunacy. But on the flip side there is always the call of a new toy…

    • @MrGB_UK
      @MrGB_UK  10 месяцев назад +1

      I’ve loved the F Pace. Very comfortable, very reliable and a good looking car. The F Pace and F Type are two entirely different cars. We use the F Pace for work, the dog and the bikes. Not something you could do with the F type
      Thanks for the comments on ownership, you speak a lot of sense!

    Its not liability its upselling they all do it. Tyres and brakes are the favourites. Unless you sell to JLR dealership your main dealer history is worth very little if anything over a specialist or even any old garage. Your car will not be retailed by a main agent. Oh as for selling it yes I would as problems begin after 5 yrs and 90k miles on most cars
