I have the Chequered Flag and the highest mpg I have achieved is 75mpg! We brought it with us when we moved to France last year and it has been impeccable. Servicing is costly but on par with other luxury brands.
I have just bought a 17 plate F Pace 3.0l d Sport in many ways due to your review - it has the red and black leather interior with a pale silver paint job - wouldn't have chosen those colours but getting a 3.0l diesel was quite hard near to us. No issues with the door panels!
I'm in my 30's and owned an fpace for 4 years, just ordered a factory build of the facelift. As a family man it's been perfect for lugging, commuting, long distance. Great SUV if you need a workhorse. My only gripe is crappy infotainment and Bluetooth connection. In 4 yra of ownership and 27k miles just needed to replace an outer CV Boot on the nearside front.
Always felt like the Jaguar crossovers and SUVs are for people who actually are classy, not the swathes of qashquais and jukes, and not for drug dealers in Audi Qs or BMW X models. Great review Matt!

Seriously considering one of these when it's time to chop the Disco Sport in in a couple of years. I've definitely got the JLR bug. I just can't get excited about the equivalent Merc/Audi/BMW offerings. Great video as usual Matt.
My in-laws had the 3.0d V6, and it was brilliant. Fast, silky smooth and had an impressive range. A GT for the 21st century. Traded it in at 3 years old with 23k on it for only £33k (it was officially a MEGA SPEC car with almost every option). Whoever picks that car up has got themselves an absolute bargain. Great video as always, Matt. Your channel is really flying now! Keep it up.
I think I watch your channel mainly for the beautiful north Derbyshire scenery of my teens and twenties. I also value your considered comments on used luxury cars especially from the JLR ranges.

We have a 3.0 litre V6 Diesel Portfolio here in New Zealand. Had it 5years and love it. It has the driver side door card rattle as well. They must of had the apprentice working on that side of the assembly plant in 2016.
Another great review. My current XJ Portfolio with the 3ltr diesel is my 6th Jag and I love it. I think the F Pace will be my 7th Jag but it will have to be the 3ltr diesel Portfolio, performance, luxury and economy in a car that is sooo much better to look at than the BMW or Audi alternatives.

Great review. Your descriptions and flawless commentary I feel are far better than any ‘4/10’ type scale. For me they paint the picture of actually owning and living with the vehicles under review. The F Pace is a lot of car, manual seats a bit of a surprise.
I was given an F-Pace 2.0D as a hire car by a third party's while my 530d xdrive tourer was being repaired. Could not get on with it at all, engine seemed noisy, rough and not particularly quick (although i'm sure the 3.0 would be better) but my biggest issue was the suspension, it felt gittery and bouncy and never seemed to settle into a comfortable rhythm - could not wait to give it back
@@potjhm1 yes i am sure the engine difference is comparisons between a 4 cylinder and a straight six, i tried a 520d before i got my 530d and did not like the 520 engine much, it was the poor ride quality that surprised me the most on the F-Pace
Fpace Shcmeffpace!, Jaguar should stick to doing what they used to do best! Make fantastic cars not mediocre SUV's! Bill Lyons would be turning in his grave!
Plenty of good looking European SUV's F Pace, Q7, Q8, GLE, XC90, Cayenne, Macan, Stelvio, Levante, X5, Toureg etc. Trouble you have is that American SUVs are in general terrible and super ugly. Even the new Jeep Grand Cherokee looks like it's tried to take a bit from all the European SUV's and they really blew it with the new Bronco. That should have been brilliant but they've done an awful job with that when it looked so good in concept.
I don’t know what it is, but there is something just ‘pleasant’ about JLR interiors. They’re not austere like Audi, and BMW sometimes are, they’re not overly blingy or tacky like some Mercedes interiors, and they’re simpler than most Lexus interiors. They’re definitely improving in build quality as well. The build quality in the 2016 Discovery Sport we had made a Year 7’s DT project look well made. Every single component squeaked, rattled or moved when you touched in, and the many materials felt cheap as well. The same went for all of the JLR courtesy cars we had at the time as well. Now though, my dad has a Jag iPace and it’s in a different league, and actually feels very well built, while retaining the aforementioned ‘pleasantness’. Great video Matt
Nice video Matt. They’re actually great cars, very practical and economical. Front is its best angle. The 3.0 TDV6 is Best Buy, very linear drive train and the torque means it’s effortless to drive 👌

Be as different as possible from those ghastly American RUclips channels. You have a very distinctive and winning style, which is why people like your vids so much.
I have the P300 and it is honestly the best car I have had. No reliability issues but bit steep on fuel but the engine performance and noise is the pay off. Definitely another one when the time comes to change.
I have one. Have seen 55mpg on the motorway. Engine a bit loud when pushed hard but very quiet in normal cruise mode, and roadholding/steering excellent for a 4WD.
My xf rsport is 2017. Not a bit of bother and sips fule. Really think jaguar are on the up, and a new boss. Great video asual 👍. Got mine with 26 thousand on the clock. Like the man says, look after it and the rest will take care of itself.
Another good video , not a fan of the ingenium myself they get a bad rep in the discovery sport , the V6 diesel would definitely be the one to go for as you say .
Hey, Matt, Great review as always! Thank you for putting fuel economy conversion on screen! As for the car ratings, it might be a nice addition to summarize the car you've reviewed. I'm trying to think of something unique, but am failing to do so. I feel like the Doug's rating system is very good and thorough. If I were to look for a car, I would look for the best balance of fuel economy, comfort, practicality (can I go on a ski trip or on a summer vacation with 3-4 other people), simple tech (I hate huge screens like in Teslas or new Mercedes cars, I just use the navigation and bluetooth music streaming... Also the controls that I can adjust while looking at the road - buttons, dials, not the futuristic stuff like in Golf 8, there is only 1 button in that car and others are some touch sensitive sliders and touch screens...) - maybe that part can be better specified. You might call it technology user experience :) Also, you must add the cupholder rating :) I feel like if you made a chart with all cars that it would be way more useful than Doug's because you review cars that most people are looking for.
Another great video! Love this car as well. Related to your rating system you could give cars an overall A-F grade or do three pros and cons at the end. Don't make it too much because your delivery style is top notch.
Quite suprised you were happy with the interior quality above the waist. Personally thought it was shocking in my XE and the F-pace even more so when it costs so much more. bar the leather on the seats, the rest of the plastics were almost Ford grade all over. Everything felt a little tinny and hollow. I suppose you did point some of them out though! KNACK KNACK
Agree utterly shambolic plastics and switches (steering wheel aside) I went to a vag saloon from a jag. For the record a boggo Golf 7 is leagues ahead of this for quality inside. Shame as I have a soft spot for jag.
Thanks Matt, we got our 2017 Portfolio 2-0 AWD a couple of months back and we love it, I couldn’t wait for to see what you thought. Ours has just got 40k miles on the clock and bought it from Jaguar main dealer here in York. We also took out the extra warranty.
Really pleased Jaguars are finally coming of age Had an XJ4.0 a few years into Ford ownership and it was the first V8 Jag did and it was an early CanBus car too It was absolutely lovely when it worked properly Unfortunately that was rare...very rare Rank based on Driveway appeal, just like you said in the video
I've been a jlr technician for over 5 years now and I promise you the ZF automatic gearbox is incredibly reliable infact I've never seen one go wrong. The manual is horrible to use and I have changed a fair few clutches and flywheels before 50k miles
As a follow up to my previous comment. We have owned the F Pace since moving to France almost a year ago and it has been a great car. I’ve had a few over my 30+ years of driving and this is one of the better cars I have owned. However, as we now live permanently in France and it’s a right hand drive car, we have decided to sell it. My first call was to the JLR main dealer we bought it from last year. The news was confusing but good. The used value had gone up and we have been offered more than we paid for it! I also checked we buy any car and their offer has increased a month after their first, also to more than we paid for the car! A first for me!
Hi Matt! I've been watching your videos since....You bought the first Range Rover on this channel. You have your own original approach, so keep that! We are your subscribers just because we don't give a doug about scores :))) Anyways, the Jag F-Pace it's out of my budget for now, i was damn curious to see one on your channel, and I am glad you did a vid with it! Thumbs up as always! Cheers

@@bensmithkent22 correct, the quality, fit and finish, materials all seem to feel better. At least in my experience as I drive many different cars. But the latest Mercedes and bmw are now much better than previous generations so the gap is less now in premium feel and technology
I did a test drive in the F-pace, quite liked it - just the dealer thought I'd be impressed with the poke. Not really though, maybe if they had done the 3 liter. But not this one. Also the suspension I thought kinda harsh. Yes probably one of the best SUVs nowadays, but gimme an X350... any day. Grace, space and pace. This one just doesn't cut it for me in the grace (suspension) and pace (.... uggh) departments.

Another great review, love this channel and always look forward to coming back here. I’m not surprised your channel is growing at quite a steady pace, keep up the great work :)
Thank you for the support
Be as different as possible from those ghastly American RUclips channels. You have a very distinctive and winning style, which is why people like your vids so much.
Haha thanks!
I wouldn't bother scoring them matt. What you do is just fine as it is. People can make up their mind based on that.
Have been watching your videos for a while now. Really appreciate the captions for the L/100km conversion! Thanks!
Brilliant video as always advertisements doing my head in
Thanks, great review of a truly great car. I have the 3.0 diesel S version and I absolutely love it.
Good choice! Thats the one I would go for too
Almost as good as XF Sportbrake! :)
I have the P300 and it is honestly the best car I have had. No reliability issues but bit steep on fuel but the engine performance and noise is the pay off.
Definitely another one when the time comes to change.
Great video as always Matt, thank you once again for your efforts 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
My pleasure!
Pleased to hear it. Hope it continues
I agree with you about "every brand has issues. I like the F Pace a very nice care and looks really good.
You might call it technology user experience :)
Also, you must add the cupholder rating :)
I feel like if you made a chart with all cars that it would be way more useful than Doug's because you review cars that most people are looking for.
Thanks for the help. I need to put some thought into this so its more relevant for potential buyers
Another great video! Love this car as well. Related to your rating system you could give cars an overall A-F grade or do three pros and cons at the end. Don't make it too much because your delivery style is top notch.
I’ve always liked the design of the F-pace, when I win the Euros I’m going to buy the SVR variant🤩🤩
Thanks for the mpg to L/100km conversion matt🤜🏻🤛🏻
I’ll try and do it in every video
Absolutely love these cars. Great review once again. Keep up the great work.
Another well-informed review, I've never really considered an F Pace before, but worth looking at.
Keep to the honest comments and avoid scoring. You quickly get your views across without need to score.
Good choice. Enjoy it. I really enjoyed using this one
Another great and useful video matt! Thank you for the great content!
About time you did the F-Pace! Great video! Would be interesting to see you review the 3.0D S F-Pace, which is a lot better equipped.
Really pleased Jaguars are finally coming of age
Had an XJ4.0 a few years into Ford ownership and it was the first V8 Jag did and it was an early CanBus car too
It was absolutely lovely when it worked properly
Unfortunately that was rare...very rare
Rank based on Driveway appeal, just like you said in the video
I think the F Pace is a masterpiece. I'd love one. I prefer everything manual as there is far less to go wrong and cost £1000s
I've been a jlr technician for over 5 years now and I promise you the ZF automatic gearbox is incredibly reliable infact I've never seen one go wrong. The manual is horrible to use and I have changed a fair few clutches and flywheels before 50k miles
@@bretzi111 You've convinced me about the gearbox 👍
@@bretzi111 what's Ur opinion on the 2L ingenium diesel? I hear horror stories of timing chains snapping prematurely
Nah, don't box yourself into the Doug-scoring corner. Just keep up the great honest and entertaining reviews 🤩
Fair enough!
Very much appreciated the l/100km conversion!
So enjoyable watching your reviews. I am considering either an Audi Q5 or the F Pace... hmmm
We've got a v6 diesel here in NZ, had it 3 years and it hasn't missed a beat. More economical than the 4 cylinder when driven carefully.
Very nice
Nice cars and the 2016-17 models are coming into a lot of people’s price range cheers Matt …
That’s a result
Cheers
Thanks!
Great review as always. Each time I watch one of your videos, I immediately feel like getting one of the cars...except the Chinese Rover from the other day
Hahaha fair enough! Thanks for watching
That Doug impression was absolutely amazing
These are great cars and feel they are much more premium feel than the equivalent bmw, Mercedes and Audi
Come again. Premium feel. As in how its feels inside. Come again??
@@bensmithkent22 correct, the quality, fit and finish, materials all seem to feel better. At least in my experience as I drive many different cars. But the latest Mercedes and bmw are now much better than previous generations so the gap is less now in premium feel and technology
Another cracking review! Love from India :)
Totally Agree Re X350! They're totally unrelated, not even in same class!!
