    Keep in mind this is for the 99-06, and I believe all (it may just be extended cabs) 04-06 Silverado pickups have another 7mm underneath the storage pocket at the bottom of the door. Overall helpful video, glad someone is making these!

    This video and the one on rear doors helped me out greatly. I was able to remove and replace the original factory speakers in my 2002 Silverado 3500. Thanks!

    It was very helpful. Thank you for taking the time to make it.
    I have 2 2004 GMC Sierra 1500s. One has a 5.3l and the other a 4.8l.
    They are both the WT models. I bought a center console for the 5.3l
    And the front seata as well. The man gave me the panel for under the steering wheel and also the glove boz side. Thats the only way for it all to fit. Lucky me I got a center console with the BOSE subwoofer in it. I have nor measured it yet but I am happy about it. I already have a aftermarket stereo and Pioneer 4"×6" rear piller speakers. Now it's time for the doors thanks to you.
    I may go crazy and get some Infinity 6.5" 2 or 3 ways. Thank you again my friend, Godspeed to you and yours

    Thanks so much for the great video. I know how to wire up stereo speakers, but I had no clue how to take the door panels off. You just saved me a ton of money going to get a new system installed.

    Do not take the button panel off on a 2006, it's held by a clip that will snap off if you try to pry it. Just remove the door panel and then undo the clips from there

    Superb videos!!!!! Thanks very much for taking the time to make the videos. I replaced all front and rear speakers in my '02 GMC Sierra Crew Cab and your videos were incredibly helpful. I purchased a pry tool from Canadian Tire and 2 pairs of Kenwood KFC-174X speakers from a local audio shop.......and BAM! My old truck has GREAT SOUND. Thanks again.

    2003 SIERRA NOTE !
    As noted in their description above, the control panel may not pry from the door panel. This definitely applies to 2003 SIERRA. The control panel is held by two 7mm bolts from the underside. They can be removed later but it is not necessary for replacing the speaker.
    The difference with the 2003 SIERRA is that the third 7mm bolt holding the door panel on is under the lock lever which is removed the same as in this video. The third bolt is NOT under the control panel so you can leave it in place. Prying on the control panel will damage the holes for the bolts that hold the control panel in place (one of the bolts is basically secured thru the upholstery material, so it's pretty flimsy. Way to go GM!!).
    If for some other reason you need to remove the control panel, remove the door panel first, then you can loosen the two 7mm bolts from the underside. (Once you remove the door panel , you'll see what I mean.) I hope this helps someone with their 2003 SIERRA. (Not sure about Silverado)

    I swear...him pulling that speaker out and seeing it not connected is the funniest thing I've ever seen on RUclips

      Yeah, that got me too! lol. But you must admit . . . . he does a fine job clearly explaining and showing us how it's done without ripping everything apart so we can reinstall the door panel and have everything fit and attach properly and look like someone who knew what they were doing do the job. Just saying. . . . . .

    Tried prying the button panel off arm rest passenger door. There was one clip on rear of control panel, a screw in front of panel. I thought it was a clip. Kept prying till the screw gave way. 2004 GMC Sierra. I like the previous post suggestion. Remove door panel as a whole

    What kind of pry tool was that I couldn't get a good look at it. It looked like a blue , metal , L l pry type tool. Am I correct about that ?

    I guess the video was how to remove the speaker... but I like how he never continued to test the speaker to see if it was receiving a signal or not... lol

    • @ericrohrbaugh2713
      @ericrohrbaugh2713 5 лет назад

      Good point, I guess we're on our own from that point on. lol. . . . . . but I did like his thoroughness with removing the switches and panels properly without breaking anything. That was worth it. We'll have to look elsewhere for the repair of the speaker situation. I'm sure it's around here somewhere. lol

    What size speaker is that? 6.5 or 6?

  • @danieleddington8967
    @danieleddington8967 Год назад +1

    Or GMC could have just made a speaker cover with a few clips and screws where you could remove it and access the speaker rather than having to take the entire door off the truck just to get to it, but that would have been too simple. Engineers must have previously worked at Nissan.

    My driver side controls ('03 Sierra) release easily at the rear but have a bolt at the front access
    able only from inside.

  • @jefflongley8644
    @jefflongley8644 8 лет назад

    Yes not all the controls for the mirrors, windows, and door lock just pop out, there is a screw on the front. The back has a clip but the only way to get the front out is to take the door panel off. There is 2 3/32 screws that have to come out. One is under the door panel pad and the other you have to pry the back of the door lock cover off and the screw is sitting behind that. Lift up on the door panel to pop it out. I almost tried to pry the controls out but when they would not come out I thought there could be a screw holding it in place and sure as all get there was. Oh and be careful not to bend the door lock arm. You will notice there is a little red greese on the lever and the plastic piece. The door lock arm bends easy. I bent mine and could not figure it out unitl looking at the passenger side.

    yeah...don't just "pry up on the front" of the switch panel. It doesn't just pop out like he says. it has a bolt that's only accessible from the inside. pry on it and you'll snap the god damn thing off like I did. thanks. 06 sierra

    • @davidwene1897

      Hey tmanyzf, I have an 05 Silverado and trying to remove my panel. I noticed another video that "warned of an additional bolt inside/under the switch panel for some models" but I still can't seem to detach the panel to gain access. I've removed the bolt behind the lock, bolt behind the handle, screw behind the plastic cap and another screw on the bottom side of the door; is there another bolt that needs removed or do I just need to put on my big boy pants and lift? I'm trying to keep from braking shit but my frustration is starting to get the best of me.
