    This video deserves wayyy more views! So many things just clicked for me and it just broke down the way I wanted to plot and outline in a far more coherent way. THANK YOU. I love the way you call it "weaving" as that is exactly what I wanted to achieve. So appreciative to find this.

    Had several ah-ha moments. This plotting, character arc stuff is FINALLY starting to make sense, and your two videos on 7 Point Plot Structure have been a big part of that. Thanks so much.

    You explain things so beautifully! Love your plot structure format - just finished my messy first draft and plan to start plotting it out again to begin "weaving it all together". Wish you would make more videos! Thank you for this!

    Really good videos and examples. I didn’t know about having the 7 points in separated plots. Thanks for sharing!

    Such a great series! With your different exemples, it was much easier to understand how the 7 plot can and should be used across multiple plot threads. I'm currently writing a book, I have a main plot for my main character and an idea of a goal for each other important character but I had a hard time seeing how to make it work, but your videos definitely help me. You should have so much more followers!! Keep this up 👏❤

    You mentioned that you love weaving plot threads together because you can visualize how everything works together (or something to that effect).
    How do you plot your books that helps you visualize things? With a spread sheet? Sticky notes?

    • @JessicaLynnMedina
      @JessicaLynnMedina  3 года назад +2

      So this is actually the really fun part - I start with sticky notes, and I will color code them according to the threads (action thread = blue, love thread = pink, etc). Then I work on laying them out together and some will overlap on top of one another as I brainstorm events and plot.
      Once I have this down, I pull them into Scrivener and will use the notecard view in there, label them and color code according to my sticky notes, and I can do further notes/edits all digitally (sometimes I'll add scene ideas or images I've found for inspiration at this point).
      Then I actually have them mapped out and ready to start writing scenes and labelling them appropriately within the software.

    How do you deal with themes? Not only the main theme but the subplot themes too?

    • @JessicaLynnMedina
      @JessicaLynnMedina  2 года назад

      So I don't work incredibly deeply with themes in terms of plot and direct planning. I consider my themes on a wider scale as I create the story at large, and then I'll make sure to work this in during my revisions more intimately. I'm much more of a pantster when it comes to theme implementation, but you could certainly apply it to this method. Making sure each of the 7 points aligns with/drives forward the message you're reaching for.
