Have been on this tour myself. Really enjoyed it. The first time we went there the tours were already full as they limit the number of people in each tour group. Very happy that we went back so we could tour the factory.

I was there today. Afterwards I went to Fullerton Ca, where the Strat and Teli was first created. I was a bit weirded out by a video shown in the visitor's center. There was a video about the early days of the factory. I recognized the area as the parking lot of a club called the Slide Bar..... so I drove to Fullerton and hung out at the Slide bar for a beer, and to realize within walking distance of the place, music history was changed

WOW! awesome tour!!!! I have got to make it to California to see this myself. I have been to C.F Martin 15 years ago when my friend ordered a custom D45 and saw their factory and I was blown away by their craftsmen. Thank you for posting this it was great so much candy

That Mark Knopfler fiesta red beauty @ 3:14 made me feel all tingly! There are many Fender factory tour videos on youtube but (as usual) the tone king shows the stuff everyone really wants to see and doesn't short change the viewer. Well done! Also, it must be weird working at a factory that constantly has people coming through for tours.
I work at fender and since I've been their i havent really seen too many people come by. it's a really cool job though
The camera-shake and fast panning of the camera is the only thing that kept this video from being outstanding. A few hours of practice will do wonders for your video projects. After all, you don't want your videos looking like someones bad home movies. :) Thanks for the effort and good luck with your future projects!!

Above all else....it's nice to see a factory where actual Americans are manufacturing a product. Sadly there aren't many of these left. Thank you China! Maybe one day you can do it half as well as these folks can.....

hmmm, I absolutely love Fender strats but I can't help feeling just a little saddened after watching that video, I'm not sure what I expected but I wouldn't want to work there any more.

Just a few corrections
1) That's not Broderick's guitar. Its just a customshop soloist that was at a NAMM show a few years ago.
2) That's not Scott Ian's guitar. It's just a soloist with a trans-natural finish.
I can't believe that ygnwie malmsteen or dave murray weren't in the display case with the other so called greats, they are the most bad ass fender users ever.

Seems a little sketchy having outside people coming in for tours being so close to factory workers next to heavy machinery/lots of moving parts. If I was one of those workers I'd have a problem with it. Some moron on a tour slips onto a worker with a cutting blade a few inches away from his or her hands? No thanks. I wonder how frequent these tours are?

omstrat ~ Wow, that's why CEOs of major corporations have assistants, secretaries, or whatever, to answer some of the customers emails/letters,etc.
Let me put it this way: Jim Marshall (Marshall amplification) would have had somebody within his company reply and an invitation sent out to visit the factory, try out the amps and perform in the Marshall performance area.
Marshall customer service in my opinion is second to none, the same cannot be said for Fender!

Wood quality of MIM is lower overall compared to the MIA. The overall fit and finish is also lower in quality compared to an American. MIM instruments are a great value and great instruments, but MIA instruments are that extra bit of quality that you pay for. Whether you feel it's worth the premium in price is up to you. But it still stands. It's the same thing with Gibson/Epiphone. You can get a great Epi, but overall Gibson's tend to be of more consistent, higher quality in general.
Nice to see that Fender are starting to look after their buyers. I got my first Strat in 1963 and always loved it. I have had 4 Strats, and 3 Teles. I was coming over to the US early 2001 and I wrote to the then CEO Bill Swartz asking if I could visit Fender and have a look around. ( I was going to Scottsdale and Corona) He didn't even have the courtesy to reply to me! I like Fender guitars, but think the company is absolute Shit, as a result, I will never ever buy another Fender product!

Rithal64 He's referring to the fact that damn near everything in the Gibson factory was automated. Fender's factory seems a good bit more hands on.
Jimmy Gilmour I've actually toured the factory several times. It is very hands on. There's a difference in being automated and innovative.

the place looks like the unemployment office line lol i used to work for the east coast fender repair shop i saw jackson there in west but i dident see mine i got a pro solist all re done by me huge frets special electronics floyd rose 1 peice neck around 22-23 yrs old now blows off shelf away sad to say ny sucks today no one wants to hire or repair in this feild its all gt center or ash alltho i have met ozzy zakk n bls n preist and toni iommi yrs ago so i got pro tips on whats best
For me it's not possible to watch the whole 34min video with this sea sick making, uncontrolled camera. At least a one leg stativ could have been used.
