Dear Paul Marshall God bless your father and your family for all your wonderful contributions to Rock Amplification. You have always been so helpful and courteous to our band and your friendly support means the world to us! We love you and long live Marshall amps!
I bought a t-shirt at reception and the lady threw in a marshal canvas bag, posters pins and catalogs in for free. Unreal. I am a Marshal customer for life now.
I cant believe 10 people dislike, Marshall is the very best amps known to mankind simply kick ass awsome quality build amps, nothing else out there beats Marshall
I've used the JCM 2000 DSL since it first came out in 1998. One of the first off the production line. It had a bias drift problem that was eventually fixed. Best sounding Marshall ever.
So cool, I love factory tours. Marshall rocks! I'm hoping I can save up for one of their reissues soon. Such great amps for classic rock and recording.
I am visiting England and I called Marshal up and asked for a tour. I got a private tour today and it was awesome. I got to try a bunch of amps in the rehearsal hall as well (The JVM rocked!). Apparently they do this a few times a week. If you are in England I highly recommend going by the factory. The people their could not be friendlier. This is customer service to the extreme when they will give an average Joe a tour like I got. see next post
...and those of us who use Marshall amps are proud to do so. There's just something about a Marshall that no other amp can emulate. Marshall is the standard. I remember so many of the ads of amps when the hybrid stuff started getting marketed always said: "Sounds just like a Marshall". BULL! Spend the money on the real thing. It's so worth it.
As far as innovation and furthering the sound of 'electrified' music goes three names come to mind. Leo Fender, Les Paul and Mr. Jim Marshall. The Marshall name is synonymous with Rock 'n' Roll. My condolences to the entire Marshall family...which if you are a guitar player, includes us all! RIP Mr. Marshall, you are now gone and will be sadly missed, but your legend will Rock on forever!
Ya just like like Americans need to look theirs...Fender..Gibson..Epiphone..Jackson.. Kramer..Charvel..Rickenbacker...Washburn..and the list goes on and on also our American Amplifiers
People who put a thumbs down on this video are probably Vox or Mesa Boogie fanboys. But we can't blame them for that. Those amps are just as good as the Marshall.
i just bought a 1982 JCM 800 100watt model 2210 and a jcm800 slant cab for a total of $1000!!! and yes guys, the tone is amazing..the guy had the output setting at 8 ohms and din't know you had to turn it to 16 ohms to get the full sound! when he saw us switching over to 16 and realized he's been playing it on 8 for 26 years, he looked sick!!! i think he lowballed it cause he thought it was broken! oh well, his loss is my gain!!
A True English success story,8000 units a month every month every year rocking the world. Congratulations Marshall Milton Keynes England........over the road from B and Q
i sent a 20 odd year old solid state and they said go look around milton kynes check out the roundabouts and it will be ready i got it back and they had put new speakers in it and everything very happy
Think I will buy a mid level half stack one day. Just like the look of them with the logo and style. I'm a new player so have little experience with all the amps and effects. I'm trying to learn as much as I can for future upgrades. I'm currently using a Peavey Vypyr 30 solid state which I love. A ton of effects for $200 and very loud. I can only keep it at 1, lol.
They Have Nicko Mcbrain (Iron Maiden) Some Where in time Drum Kit there also Nicko gave it to Jim Marshall you can see it briefly at the end of the video.
Has the 70’s JMP Master Volume amps ever been considered reissued? I know there is the 800 MV which is basically the same, but the original were different enough. Plus I always liked the look of the 70’s MV.
I totally agree, the tsl series do not have the balls that marshall is/was known for. It is nice to see they are building more of the classic amps by hand, returning to their roots and building them like the used to!
I'm not a Marshall user I'm a Hughes & kettner user, but, I'am a Marshall fan and have a great respect for it's historical legacy to music but my question is this in an age where we have had computer businessmen and newsreaders knighted by the queen for services rendered why oh why do we not have a sir James Marshall yet ??? Come on queenie sort it out love !!
Yeah that are cool ! I've got the Marshall AVT50 combo and the speaker that comes in it was good but I use it with a vintage JBL 15 and it's way way way better with that speaker !
well maybe so but did you take consideration about my playing standards or even financial standards? sure i saw the jcm in the shop but i dont have that kind of cash. im only a bedroom player and this things fine for me
True, sound is very subjective, but a lot of people love their sound and thats basically what made them what they are today. Having looked at your videos im supposing youve played one before, did you like them? I myself have one at home and a vox ac4tv and i just love my marshall.
What's the mod where you take an old jmp or other non-master amp and put a master on it?? I get that this is basically a jcm 800 but when i played one it still wouldnt overdrive until both the master and preamp were cranked.....I have played a modded jmp though, and its master volume mod works fine...low master, overdriven preamp.
let me get this right: out of 8000 made a month 40% comes here to the US? that's, what, 3200 units? i find that staggering. i mean there are other brands out there, but goes to show the quality of the Marshall brand is revered. on a personal note, my dad did have a stack in the late 70s-early 80s. then he switched to Mesa Boogie because lugging a stack into an apartment isn't ideal (living on the 2nd or 3rd floor) nor would have been pleasant for our neighbors. at last check, he did get a Marshall half stack.
i think its funny how at the start of the video they sowed photos of artist who apparently use marshall amps..funny thing was most of them never used marshalls LOL. satriani uses PEAVY, brian may uses VOX, eric clapton uses SOLO or FENDER, and so fourth....
Just out of the blue - there exists such thing as color correction in video editing process. But first you have to ask from cameraman, has he heard something about white balance? :)
Just watched a company that had real people working in 1980 that made machines to do all the work. Everyone got let go except the few willing to work for lunch. Come to find out most of all the amps made are assemble by people for a dollar a day in Vietnam .
at 11:16 shes say to the other gal hey did hendrix have a circuit board? I have a G50R CD combo that needs help it fell over with the guitar plugged in and the input jack pushed inside and the circuit board cracked in half? wtf I looked inside it has a thin tan board like tv set. I removed the board and point to point hand wired it with solder along with crazy glue to hold it. amps should be built to take a pounding
@Independentschlueder sound is not the most subjective thing in human nature, it may be ONE of the most, don't forget about other sensorial stimulae such as visual, tactile and so forth.
Hmm combo wise.. marshall are decent for solid state but may sound a bit thin.. if u want a good metal ballsy thick soundin one got for maybe a line 6 or a krank or somehting like that +
101Dobermanns that's the truth friend. Different ears have different tastes. You really can't say which company has the best sounding amps. Some people don't like Marshall amps, others swear by them. God bless you
Dear Paul Marshall God bless your father and your family for all your wonderful contributions to Rock Amplification. You have always been so helpful and courteous to our band and your friendly support means the world to us! We love you and long live Marshall amps!
Nicely done!
I bought a t-shirt at reception and the lady threw in a marshal canvas bag, posters pins and catalogs in for free. Unreal. I am a Marshal customer for life now.
Nice!
I met 'Mr Marshall' (Jim) at a Guitar fair in Manchester in the late 80s, very nice guy!
I cant believe 10 people dislike, Marshall is the very best amps known to mankind
simply kick ass awsome quality build amps, nothing else out there beats Marshall
Thank you for the tour, and I am a proud owner as well!
I've used the JCM 2000 DSL since it first came out in 1998. One of the first off the production line. It had a bias drift problem that was eventually fixed. Best sounding Marshall ever.

And people say we don't manufacture anything sny more... great amps, proudly made in England.

Marshall JVM 410h = Best amp I've ever played!
Very Very good documentary by son of Jim Marshall and interesting & educational. We Britt's need to look after our industry, now.

Right right you're bloody well right
You got the bloody right to say.
Ya just like like Americans need to look theirs...Fender..Gibson..Epiphone..Jackson.. Kramer..Charvel..Rickenbacker...Washburn..and the list goes on and on also our American Amplifiers
@@towhook Supertramp!
People who put a thumbs down on this video are probably Vox or Mesa Boogie fanboys. But we can't blame them for that. Those amps are just as good as the Marshall.
I still say that the JCM 800 will always be the the best amp ever even though I have a Blackstar Mesa and an Orange and hopefully someday a JCM 800
Thank you Marshall family. I love my Marshall jmd:1. hafe stack
I love marshall amps. I always have and always will.
Such a lovely video even after those years. I’ve been there last week:)
Very interesting. Thank you for the tour.
thanks v much for that informative and comprehensiv e tour....excellent high standards and of course a superb sound!
i just bought a 1982 JCM 800 100watt model 2210 and a jcm800 slant cab for a total of $1000!!! and yes guys, the tone is amazing..the guy had the output setting at 8 ohms and din't know you had to turn it to 16 ohms to get the full sound! when he saw us switching over to 16 and realized he's been playing it on 8 for 26 years, he looked sick!!! i think he lowballed it cause he thought it was broken! oh well, his loss is my gain!!
Daniel he should've done a little more investigation then he did you won
I also love my Marshall TSL 100! Marshall is the best!
A True English success story,8000 units a month every month every year rocking the world.
Congratulations Marshall Milton Keynes England........over the road from B and Q
Hands down the best amps on earth.
Not sure, the best is the vox ac30 behind fender bassman
In the Rose-Morris years (1965-80) there were these arbitrary model #s often mistaken for years (viz. 1959, 1987, et al).
they should do reissues of ALL their early amps right up to the JMP's!
Yeah go marshall the greatest thing ever to be made in england
I NEED on of those amps!
TY Mr. Marshall..
LOVE you
i sent a 20 odd year old solid state and they said go look around milton kynes check out the roundabouts and it will be ready i got it back and they had put new speakers in it and everything very happy

ugh, got to get a marshall. they rule !

Love my Marshall TSL100 - Mike (Reese's dad)
spent a lot of time there thanks to Jim
MARSHALL : FACTORY
MADE IN ENGLAND : TOP QUALITY OF WORLD : 👍👍🏻😄😊😊👍
they should do a reissue of the no 1 amp
I'm not a Marshall user I'm a Hughes & kettner user, but, I'am a Marshall fan and have a great respect for it's historical legacy to music but my question is this in an age where we have had computer businessmen and newsreaders knighted by the queen for services rendered why oh why do we not have a sir James Marshall yet ??? He was awarded the OBE (Order of the British Empire) in 2003.
love the avts! Its a great all round amp! :>
Yeah that are cool !
I've got the Marshall AVT50 combo and the speaker that comes in it was good but I use it with a vintage JBL 15 and it's way way way better with that speaker !

I love MArshall amps. The best amps in thw world as far as I'm concerned.
@pnskbk yeah its gr8 Orange amps are also from england
wonder if they give free samples when you visit?
My JCM 600 was made in 1997 and my AVT 50 was made in 2002 so this must be filmed around then !?
LOVE SOME MARSHALLS.....ALL I GOT..
True, sound is very subjective, but a lot of people love their sound and thats basically what made them what they are today. Having looked at your videos im supposing youve played one before, did you like them? I myself have one at home and a vox ac4tv and i just love my marshall.
MARSHALL PROBABLY ARE THE BEST AMPS IN THE WORLD

@22:10 How did this guy predict the just announced in 2022 "Spinal Tap 2" way back in 2008?
@sa18hr tbh i'm not really a beatles fan but cuz they had such an impact on the music scene i guess u could say so.
Where is Kerry King's picture?!
How much do you have to spend? and what kind of style exactly
Can they make a video on the Indian factory where they made my chip board mgdfx which broke after a couple of plays....thx Mr Marshall jr
LOL
@mammo8369 Thats right ! even the starting video guitar sound is from a VOX ac 30 !! : ))
@tellyurfriends if you book an appointment they'll show you round and you can try all of the amps they have on show apart from some! So good!
Joel Mason ya but then you leave without one and the tour haunts you till you get one

i wanna have the same amps as hendrix did....
Get the 1959 Super Lead Plexi. It'll cost you.
@jagjaghuh whattya rekons better?
Marshall is the number one ROCK AMP.
@LittleBuddah118 Laneys also english so there's a fourth good english brand of amp.
I spy Nick Mcbrain's drum kit from Maidens Somewhere in time tour behind them amps
Just watched a company that had real people working in 1980 that made machines to do all the work. Everyone got let go except the few willing to work for lunch. Come to find out most of all the amps made are assemble by people for a dollar a day in Vietnam .
I wonder if he always called his father "Mr. Marshall"?
J class
My guess is it was just for the documentary. I doubt he ever called his dad that. Probably called him “Papa” with his British accent
what is easier to build, tube or solid state?
Ryan-B look at the price difference... might be an indicator
Awesome to see how each amp is finished by humans, and tested. A quality operation! Marshalls rock!
Why all these people dont wear work overalls ?
at 11:16 shes say to the other gal hey did hendrix have a circuit board?
I have a G50R CD combo that needs help it fell over with the guitar plugged in and the input jack pushed inside and the circuit board cracked in half? wtf
I looked inside it has a thin tan board like tv set.
I removed the board and point to point hand wired it with solder along with crazy glue to hold it. amps should be built to take a pounding
Funiest coment out there
if they're sanded by hand then every marshall cabinet and amp is special
@Independentschlueder sound is not the most subjective thing in human nature, it may be ONE of the most, don't forget about other sensorial stimulae such as visual, tactile and so forth.
3 year warranty in the UK? for my halfstack i for 5 years.... lol
Lets do it by listening to your favourite MARSHALL amp to ELEVEN..
Mine is AC/DC
LET THE BE ROCK
No input?
@dickydom9
I have a modded tsl = it is fucking amazing
Try the plexi 1987 MKll reissue, I been using it for a while and sound great, may be the guy who made the modded fuck up...
i just bought the new Marshall MG50fx :D i love it so much!... GOOD BYE 15 WATT STARTER AMP HELLO 50WATT DEATHBOX!!
The MG series are pieces of junk
great uk company
cool man..
Now everyone is ripping open their old Marshalls to see if Mr marshall has made it.
Are Marshalls better than hiwatts? I can't decide.
Hmm combo wise.. marshall are decent for solid state but may sound a bit thin..
if u want a good metal ballsy thick soundin one got for maybe a line 6 or a krank or somehting like that +
@bbshooter1221 they robly give u a battery mini 2 watts amp
now I know why my MC 50 FX 50 watt is a killer
@mjfan123085 IMO the only way to go is tube. Nothing really sounds like a tube, and it makes the best distortion ever.
I wonder if the amps made in Vietnam go through the same quality control procedures.
Marshall 1959SLP (Jimi Hendrix top) is the best amp ever!!! :-)
20:17 LOOK AT THE SIZE OF THOSE TRANSFORMERS!!! like i say, everythiing had huge transformers back in the day!
damn i want that slash head
@sabbath994 it depends on personal preference and musical style
i have 1 as well. im not really happy with the distortion tho. and the clean isnt that clear.
Every single brand makes top quality models and low quality models.
So quit arguing which one is the best.
That's schoolyard talk.
101Dobermanns that's the truth friend. Different ears have different tastes. You really can't say which company has the best sounding amps. Some people don't like Marshall amps, others swear by them. God bless you
B&Q!
Why did Marshall turn down Van Halen? Brown Sound is Marshall isn't?
Now if only I had money for one of these
Wow! Only 40 percent to the US. That's less than I thought. I live in Europe.
