I worked for Washburn and Grover Jackson when they were on Elston Ave. in Chicago. Grover would sit up stairs in his office and get hi and jam all day. Besides 4 or 5 cool employees, the 2 managers underneath Grover were pricks. I always thought that place could have been run so much better.
I have two Nuno N1s (Natural and Red), an X-29, an X-30, an X-40 Pro Q, an X-50 Pro Q, an X-50 Pro FE, 2 Dime Vs (Black w/Silver Bevels and Camo), an XM Deluxe w/Floyd, an XM Pro, and a WG587. Washburn will forever be my favorite guitar brand.
I've owned a vintage D61 for over 30 yrs. Right now its with a luthier who loves it. He's realigned and reset the neck, put new frets on, fitted it for a Tonewood amp and put on a new nut and made the string set wider so I can do better finger work. I can hardly wait to get back to it.
I have a Washburn WD10SB, and this is the best folk guitar I ever had, the sound is great, and it is very beautiful, and easy in playing! And it costs a good price! Thanks alot, Washburn!
I have a Washburn B15 banjo (44 of limited 144 run). It is similar to the Washburn (maple) B16 banjo. My B15 banjo features the Gibson RB3 (1925-1930) "wreath inlays", very nicely finished mahogany wood (neck and resonator), Remo head, brass tone ring etc. I've upgraded the bridge and tuning keys and let me tell you, it's a hell of a lot of banjo for what I have in it, the play, feel, sound is a dream for what I like out of the intrument. I had an old (50s/60s era) Gibson RB250 that I played for years. My Korean Washburn is every bit is good, maybe better.
If I had a choice of custom shop I’d go with Washburn.the idol over don’s left shoulder is gorgeous. A custom shop idol is my dream guitar. Idk why I like these guitars but when I see an idol it’s like a Les Paul and a telecaster had a baby lol
I owned a 1998 Washburn USA Paul Stanley PS-2000 and a Washburn USA Dimebag Darrell Southern Cross. Life, unemployment, and the recession of 2008 created the perfect storm to make me have to sell both of them. It still hurts.
Washburn are the some of the best guitars ever made. They have the longest running guitars factory and custom shop established in 1883 and they have always been making guitars without ever having financial issues you can't argue with that. Clearly more people love the guitars then hate them. And if you really don't like the guitars why are you watching a video about their Custom Shop?
I love my washburn solar 17ETC guitar!!!...but in waiting from sweetwater in Indiana on my second one because I had to send it back due to factory flaw on joint where neck joins body! :( ...and I'm still waiting...I'm sad...wish it would hurry WASHBURN!!! :( ...I still love ya! ;)
Well, I just recently bought a Washburn guitar with an Onyx finish and I am VERY pleased with it... Because I wanted a guitar that is good for metal or heavy rock. And that's what my dealer told me to buy, so I did. :)
I bought Jon Donais' guitar off the guy and it's honestly the most comfy for me. I've tried my friend's Gibson Explorer, Dean ML and nothing feels like a Washburn
Parker & Washburn are owned by same parent company Just like Jackson guitars, they were bought out (around 2007) and now owned by Fender. I read on Fenders site they kept the Jackson Custom shop guys employed, they wanted the quality and image of Jackson to stay solid so when you order a Jackson custom it's still made by original staff that has been there for years. 4:35 COOL CHICAGO BEARS HAT Yeah "Da Bears!! Can't believe the WM526 jumped in price from $1500 to $2500 in ONE YEAR come on!
@Karpiszon666 - I am glad to see that you could come up with an intelligent come back to a well grounded argument. You are truly a unique human to be on a video for something that you don't like and then be mad because somebody pointed out the stupidity within your comment.
This is a cool video! 23 years ago my newborn Daughter and my wife gave me a D-13, s , I think. Best sounding but ESPecially looking acoustic I've owned in 40-odd years of playing. Is there anyone out there with an Ash wood side & back D-13,S ???
These are the 1% of their guitars not made in China. I have one of their China-made Spanish guitars ($139 new) and I love it. But my pride and joy are my circa 1990 D12-12N 12-strings (Korea).
At around 5:40 when they are explaining the finishing process, the guitar looks like a Parker, like a Fly Mojo or something. Does Washburn have some kind of stake in Parker guitars or something?
Is the custom-shop close ? I found nothing in the official website about the Washburn Custom-Shop or it's only for signature model and endorsed artist ?
80s Washburn A10 or A20 not sure… One piece of real mahogany wood, not assembled only one body an neck together… and Di Marzio mics, that is my wonderful Washburn from the eigthies. 👍🏽
Huh....I didn't know they had a US facility. I wonder if they could fix the flaws on my old Washburn Bass...you can drive a truck thru the gaps between the bolt on neck and body! The 80s "Tour Series" vintage Washburns are cool, even though they aren't the best quality-wise.
I have an opportunity to get what is being called a custom shop washburn idol... DOES NOT have the custom shop logo on the headstock though... dont they all? If they're a custom shop and do they come with certs? Has a Buzz Fienten logo on the back ... help??
Hi everyone, I have a CS-740 Chicago series, it is red with black edges and has a flamed maple top. Can anyone tell me something about the type of wood used to build this guitar? Thanks.
@BLStribute I don't think that will happen. I think Dean now own the patent on that particular mutant startfish body style as well as holding the copyright on using Dime's name.
I just purchased a Washburn serial number 9205285. D-2N, how much is it worth. The Guitar is friggin awesome, old strings, old sound. Damn I Love This Guitar 😃
ok....fantastic..looks great...right here in America...cool people..old school attention to detail & pride in "makin it right"...like someone else here said-- "market it as such--get the word out"...AND...expand some, maybe, make n keep it systematic, hire more people, expand it, get MORE guitars out and--- you can kick some serious ass, if.you're. not. so. expensive..people are SICK AS HELL of automatically over-priced crap from PRS & Gibson, kudos to history, but c'mon..tell CEO's NO..!
I love my 1980s Washburn ea36-12 string! It's a great looking birds eye maple, with a sweet voice either plugged or unplugged! Here's a video of me playing my Washburn for my original song - Old Bainbridge Road! Check it out: ruclips.net/video/rzy7lmgYlX4/видео.html
the normal washburn guitars are made in china. this video is from the custom shop, all the washburn guitars made in the usa are from the custom shop !!!
you guys make some beautiful guitars I just got a acoustic from you and its was set up perfect looks amazing plays like a dream but guys your shipping really sucks it took a week in a half to get it when it was suppose to be 3 days it was picked and packed for 1 week n 2 days before you stuck a shipping label on it to ship nice guitars but shipping really sucks need to work on that some
Thing is, I wanted to buy Washburn - went to the store and saw a big surprise "MADE IN CHINA". Washburn official forum says that more than 99% of their guitars are made in China, while only some prestige guitars are made in USA. So Im here to see their Chinese factory QC - but guess what - no video about it - only this propaganda...
I have 7 Washburns. Love them all.
Got myself a Washburn Mercury series manufactured around 92-93 and it still plays awesome.
I heard that building was haunted by victims of the great chicago fire.
For years. I like and have been Playing a Washburn Solid Body Electric Guitar. Never had a Problem with it. Ever !
I have two Nuno N1s (Natural and Red), an X-29, an X-30, an X-40 Pro Q, an X-50 Pro Q, an X-50 Pro FE, 2 Dime Vs (Black w/Silver Bevels and Camo), an XM Deluxe w/Floyd, an XM Pro, and a WG587. Washburn will forever be my favorite guitar brand.
seriously underated guitars

I'm a proud owner of a Washburn KC-45. Really cool instrument.
I love my Washburn acoustic guitar!
I have a Washburn B15 banjo (44 of limited 144 run). It is similar to the Washburn (maple) B16 banjo. proud owner of a washburn xm std2 best ever nothing comes close. fingers glide on the neck like a blade on ice
i feel real bad for Washburn. they went from hero to zero in less than a decade
Love my Washburn guitar!
Doing same thing, more of it. Awesome. Can we still order custom?
working in a guitar factory is really my dream job. i would fucking love to do what these guys do every day.
i bet it gets old after a year
I have guitars and basses Washburn! Excellents! 🎶🎧👍🎵🎼
My MG401 & XMPRO2FR are by far best bang for the buck in my collection...awesome guitars
Love Washburns, got an N2, N4, P2, and two Festival series (one's the Nuno signature of course). Can't bring myself to buy another brand.
the blue guitar in the backround at 2.26 is a beauty
I like washburn acoustic guitars. The comfort series all solid wood .

Why washburn factory is closed in Chicago? I love washburn guitars

Can't believe the WM526 jumped in price from $1500 to $2500 in ONE YEAR come on!
eric karol looks and sounds like he should be the chicago super fans skit on SNL
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA ....
@Karpiszon666 - I am glad to see that you could come up with an intelligent come back to a well grounded argument. You are truly a unique human to be on a video for something that you don't like and then be mad because somebody pointed out the stupidity within your comment.
I didn't know they were in mundelein il. Thats like 20 min awaw from my house
I liked how the finisher guy Don was working on a Paul Stanley signature guitar. I would kill to have them make a Dimbag guitar for me.
Washburn custom shop's quality is really good!
I think I see a mahogany N4 neck? what's that ? and something representing a parker fly!
This is a cool video! 23 years ago my newborn Daughter and my wife gave me a D-13, s , I think. Best sounding but ESPecially looking acoustic I've owned in 40-odd years of playing. Is there anyone out there with an Ash wood side & back D-13,S ???
Unfortunately, this facility has been closed for years.
Yep. Indonesia and China plants are two that I'm aware of
They tore it down a couple months ago.
The Indo world factory is phenomenal !
Washburn guitars are best !! I have a XM PRO2, upgraded with Seymour Duncan Blackouts, Best guitar ever.
You can tell they're in Chicago there, hey. Da Bears!
These are the 1% of their guitars not made in China. I have one of their China-made Spanish guitars ($139 new) and I love it. But my pride and joy are my circa 1990 D12-12N 12-strings (Korea).

I have a RX 22 Washburn that's missing the bridge. Any ideas on sourcing a replacement? Washburn hasn't been helpful. Thanks
This is weird. My name is also Daniel Woll and my profile pic is also a Les Paul. I'm in AZ where are you?
I'm not Daniel w6917 and I didn't write the bridge comment but when I respond it says I'm Daniel w6917

How much your Washburn comfort G25SCE (acoustic).. my location is in the Philippines (cebu) 👍
Man these guys are very commited espicialy at 6.04. I want to buy a Washburn now lol.
8.02 what song is that?
I have an opportunity to get what is being called a custom shop washburn idol... DOES NOT have the custom shop logo on the headstock though... dont they all? If they're a custom shop and do they come with certs? Has a Buzz Fienten logo on the back ... help??
Hi everyone, I have a CS-740 Chicago series, it is red with black edges and has a flamed maple top. Can anyone tell me something about the type of wood used to build this guitar? Thanks.
Well i got Washburn X10 SJ and its pretty good. I mean it works fine for me i am still a beginer but its pretty cool.
washburn for the win!!!
@BLStribute I don't think that will happen. I think Dean now own the patent on that particular mutant startfish body style as well as holding the copyright on using Dime's name.
Mundelein!! I've seen this place! I live a few towns over!
Hi guys, how do I order a guitar from the washburn custom shop? There is no link on their website.

I have a guitar with a serial number W0201180 can you tell me if it is a Washburn guitar?
6:52 interview of the year lol.
Love my HB 32. I am looking at some of these Boogie Street Customs. Anybody got any experience w/ them?
I want one! And I want to work there.
@kingdarko i cant because i threw it on the ground about 3 times so the headstock snapped of the neck :)
damn I really wish they themselves would start making&selling all of dimebag's signature guitars but I guess that will never happen!!!
@yitboy11
Yes they do, Washburn owns Parker, where have you been, under a rock?
whoo Bears! whoo Sox! i love these guys, lol. make ME custom! \m/
2009 youtube was lit
whats the silver guitar at 1:12?

I just purchased a Washburn serial number 9205285. D-2N, how much is it worth. The Guitar is friggin awesome, old strings, old sound. Damn I Love This Guitar 😃
I love washburn but they should do this for esp
GODDAMN! I'm actually selling that guitar now but only in Singapore. I can't ship internationally :( can you come to Singapore? lol

ok....fantastic..looks great...right here in America...cool people..old school attention to detail & pride in "makin it right"...like someone else here said-- "market it as such--get the word out"...AND...expand some, maybe, make n keep it systematic, hire more people, expand it, get MORE guitars out and--- you can kick some serious ass, if.you're. not. so. expensive..people are SICK AS HELL of automatically over-priced crap from PRS & Gibson, kudos to history, but c'mon..tell CEO's NO..!
Where do I apply?
Paul Stanley of KISS, and Nuno Bettencourt with The Extremes are both Washburn players.
What Guitar is at 7:50?
yea and for jackson
in 7:29 is the guitar of Paul Stanley
Think about their price though. A PRS SC 245 costs 3 grand, it's like twice the price of everything else.
Dime should have never left Washburn. Especially not for the newly reformed Dean Guitars.
now Dean copies the stealth without Dime's consent.
wtf? why is the quality so bad? thats a first for guitarworld...anw nice vid
wat song was the intro?
Does anybody has a XM Pro2FR? I can't find any videos, cause I want to hear the sound of it.. please let me know!
5:34 shouldn't that dude be wearing a tyvek suit at least? Not sure if that paint is save on skin, not to mention what mask his he wearing.
But wait...Washburn NOW says all their guitars are made overseas. In China....
I am the proud owner of a WI14.
why the music is always so high and the voice so low?
I love my 1980s Washburn ea36-12 string! It's a great looking birds eye maple, with a sweet voice either plugged or unplugged! Here's a video of me playing my Washburn for my original song - Old Bainbridge Road! Check it out: ruclips.net/video/rzy7lmgYlX4/видео.html
@StrangeDudeManThing Hmm perhaps you're right.
Many companys make similar guitars to other brands
the normal washburn guitars are made in china. this video is from the custom shop, all the washburn guitars made in the usa are from the custom shop !!!
you guys make some beautiful guitars I just got a acoustic from you and its was set up perfect looks amazing plays like a dream but guys your shipping really sucks it took a week in a half to get it when it was suppose to be 3 days it was picked and packed for 1 week n 2 days before you stuck a shipping label on it to ship nice guitars but shipping really sucks need to work on that some
I'd take Washburn over Dean any day.
@yitboy11
I was messing with you dude!
