A lot of the machines used are original when Leo was there. Die and tooling. etc. Awesome tour if your a Fender guy like me, or just want to see start to finish. They make all parts outsource Crome.

Very cool factory tour. Coming from a manufacturing background I was surprised at how old the machinery/equipment was and that there wasn't more automation.

Great video. Thanks TK for reposting. Can't believe for background music you had to remove this video. You even got Abby herself winding pickups. Classic since she's now retired. Do you remember the temperature and humidity in the factory? Lot of people wearing jackets so I assume it was cold and dry?

Wow 2012 NAMM show. I actually do in fact remember seeing this when Paulster was there with you that year. At the time I didn't really take notice of any Clapton being played. I did however hear a bit of Led Zep being played on the video this time when I re-watched it.
the fancy machinery is old , maybe that helps ! that`s a buffing wheel !!makes me wonder though at the price I paid for an Ultimate 50`s usa strat, I`ve got the same equipment in my shed, the pearlesent paint is amazing though thanks Fender!!

Most Squires are made in Asian countries. That's how they keep the cost down.

I loved to see that grandma wiring pickups! It tells a lot about a company, I think. Here in Brazil, it's hard to see someone that old still working. I would love to buy a pickup made by her.

I used to work there, he would have been allowed, except no one knows how to speak english. Which was the reason i left, non spanish speaking employees were not treated that well.

Well, I'm a bit late, but picks are ether stamped from a sheet of plastic with a die, or they are simply injection molded in plastics.

Fender owns them. yes, the American ones are made in Corona, Ca. The same plant back area. As well as the EVH
I have a 1964 Strat, and the original mint green pickguard has shrunk so bad that it will no longer work. Fender makes an accurate replacement, but they wont sell me one. It's to bad, because Leo built these guitars, and his company off of guitars that could be serviced for the working musician. Thanks for nothing!

So, the bodom line is, spare your money and buy a Made in Mexico strat because both "American" and "Made in Mexico" strats are Mexican made.

When I went through 2015-2016"?" they stated no pictures or filming. Also was told about a year ago, that they were redoing the visitors center and were not doing tours anymore? I have not been back to SoCal in a year so who knows.That was not during a NAMM tour and that what the guide said , he was kind of a dick
