    Congrats on the result and glad to hear you aren't experiencing any rubbing with the 9.5" and 265mm wheel/tire setup. Hard to believe the factory didn't bead roll the hot/cold transition pipe, especially with 18psi to ~23psi on the stock turbo. Maybe updated 2024 EN will address this oversight. I for one am waiting for you to get on track with Topher and his crt (LOL) to show everyone what a well driven EN is capable of. Keep the videos coming and stay safe out there gents.

    • @pattyboi

    • @williamrori1274
      @williamrori1274 Год назад

      We already have that scheduled, but we're waiting for his tires to get in. We should have identical size and make tires, but possibly different wheels. So the pipe actually is bead rolled, and rolled fairly decently as well. We're trying to root cause and make a solution but yeah when I first pulled it apart I expected there to be little to no bead.

    • @FL50ssp
      @FL50ssp Год назад

      @@williamrori1274 Understood. Regarding bead roll... I didn't see that in the video and have to ask is it a significant/deep bead or just small/shallow? At your boost level, a good bead and quality clamps (T) are all you need. My guess is oem = small/shallow bead. You mentioned ~3.2 -cam up front, how is your front tire wear? And are you beating up the outside shoulder at the current front -cam settings? The chassis seems like it has a lot of mechanical grip and potential to go very fast with the right suspension/chassis setup. That said, have you considered going to a softer spring and bigger bar setup (SSBB)?

    • @williamrori1274
      @williamrori1274 Год назад

      @@FL50ssp it's pretty substantial. I don't really think it's boost related, more the engine displacing under heavy movement from shifting. It mates the intercooler (contained to the vehicle) to the turbo (contained to the engine) so I believe it's forcefully getting pulled apart - not so much by boost.
      Tire wear on -3.2 is good but I only have 3 days on them. Tire pyrometer temps are good but it could be better. -3.8 is probably better but you can't really get there without camber plates. As far as the dynamics go, the car already rotates great. This isn't one that you need to go rear bar with to make it rotate. It could use more roll stiffness, bur I'm waiting on real one piece coilovers (MCS is working on theirs) to go that way.

    • @Boosted00
      @Boosted00 Год назад

      Instead rolling the hot pipe you could always just drop some welds on the pipe and the clamp should stay in place . We use to do that in early 2000's on boosted cars and did it on mine also. It works well.
      Just drop 4 weld dots , one at 12 o'clock one at 3 and 6 and 9. Hopefully you understand what I mean lol.
      Or you could play with Vibrant quick disconnect like used on exhaust downpipes etc.

    I have the i30 Sedan N (aussie version of elantra N) and have some good contacts at the australian hyundai TCR factory team. The TCR boots with the big carbon fibre wing are actually possible to purchase. It's about $6k australian, could potentially improve times with better downforce on the rear, although i suspect you would need to balance it with some extra aero at the front too. Cool idea to explore in the future maybe.

    I live in the Midwest, I am running into the dilemma of wanting a AWD or FWD car such as the Elantra N. you make me really want one of these. I feel if I were to test drive one it would be the deciding factor. I had tested an S3 and really liked it but I might give this a chance. It might be an all around year car not sure if I want to get rid of what I currently have as a beater. I might just wait for the updated elantra see what that has up it's sleeves. with the current car market I have nothing but time to wait.

      On track temps are a lot different than in the grass. After a layer of rubber has been put down the track pavement and you add heat it gets pretty greasy. An easy proof to this is you can just look at the session times and see that basically everyone got slower with heat.
