Yes! the way a camera feels is just as important as anything else…because storytelling doesn’t give a crap about technology. But the right tech can make you enthusiastic.
I like the style and vibe :) Enjoy this beautiful camera and yes: You should shoot more in the dark. Especially with the high ISO capabilities of the M11-P 👍
Loved the photos! Hello Pete! Hello Roman! Although in the interview Roman said that you are more focused on the scene and the people while he is focused on the light, the first few photos were focused on the light! That wine glass coffee cup...
Great video and some nice captures! Congratulations on your new M11-P; mine arrived earlier this week, absolutely loving it. I’ve been using the 35mm Summicron ASPH for a while (purchased a Lux but returned it as it wasn’t calibrated well) but sometimes I think about the Lux 😂 Excited to see what you’ll create with this amazing combo.
I was indeed waiting for this vid a couple of days now! hahah- wonderful up paste vid Mike! hope this years journey with the m11p works out, looking forward to future vids like always!
Have you always used manual focus or is this something you have to get used to with the M11? Not sure I'd like to be restricted. I went for the Q3 and loving it.
Wow Im jealous! I just tried out a m11 in ny for the first time and it just feels so so sweet in the hands. Only reason I havent got one is because Im still only a few years into my photography journey and dont feel Ive earned it. You definitely have though! Have loads of fun with it man :)
Never been to London. I envy you for the story opportunities occurring in seconds. I’m living on the countryside. Rather boring here. The architecture of London is also awesome. M11 Monochrom would probably be the tool of my choice. When I had art classes as child at school, I always preferred doing ink drawings instead of colour paintings. That’s what I call addicted to contrasts and tones 😅
What was it you said about M11s in Lisbon…? Top shopping. What resolution setting do you think you’ll use most of the time? I’ve started using 36MP on mine instead of 60 for casual & street type photos.
Thanks, I’ll be interested to see what you conclude. The 36 will still make a huge print, but full resolution is seductive. Seems to be conflicting opinions on whether the lower resolution actually does give the extra stop dynamic range, though it’s far from shoddy in the first place.
Hi Mike...Liverpool Kev here...I had watched and enjoyed Roman Fox (Top chap)...interview with you....I am a HiFi buff and bought my first Bang and Olufsen setup at 15...I am 65 now...I still have a number of B&O systems in my collection....I wonder if there is a similarity with Leica in the camera world....Quality...yes...better than competition...arguable....value for money...oh dear...BUT how do you feel using and owning.....Special ! !...You obviously feel the same Mike...Really hope you enjoy your new camera...However ...Don't forget me and the X100V Haha......Best etc.....Liverpool Kev
Thanks for the video! How do you cope with focusing? Besides the price tag that ghost image focusing on Leicas was driving me mad therefore they never were an option... 🤷🏻♂️
Haaaa FINALLY someone directly calling out "F1.8 back of the head" shooters. There's no denying that it feels different to shoot on Leica. People can't seem to handle the fact that hybrid use and bonkers autofocus isn't a priority for everyone. Comments constantly like "I like shooting Leica. It feels good and it's challenging." Then someone responds with "You're a posturing idiot with an expensive necklace" 😂 Man, I'm just enjoying a camera. Great shots, as always 🙌
@@SourPlanet If you did a blind test (without EXIF) between a Leica and a Nikon or Canon, no one would notice the difference between them. Those who pay much more for Leica are because of psychology. It's for the thrill of using equipment that few can afford. It's a fetish. I think the Leica M is beautiful! But it's just that: Beautiful! It doesn't deliver better files than a Nikon or Canon.
@@michelecintramika8482 Projection. No one claimed Leica is superior, and my entire point was literally the opposite. Ask yourself: why must you imagine this money obsessed simpleton as an effigy to burn? Pretty simple psychology to me... Worth noting, my main body is an A7Rii from 2015 that I bought used and beat up. I shoot 50+ year old lenses and my last one cost a whole $25. I bought a used first gen Q *in 2023*. It's covered in scratches and cost less than that canon/Nikon gear you mentioned. Did I do it to fetishize luxury? No. I needed an all in one EDC with manual focus for zone shooting and also autofocus for relaxed family days. Most people aren't as judgemental and pretentious as you. They just like to use gear they enjoy.
Did your camera lock up on you? I have owned an M-11 for one year and it has locked up on me at least once each time I go out to shoot. I was hoping the software upgrades would have fixed this issue. Having said that, I still enjoy the camera experience when it's working.
A super common camera; However, with a BEAUTIFUL design! A super common camera; However, with a BEAUTIFUL design! If the Nikon Zf had a Leica M and/or Fijifilm X100V type design, maintaining the Zf's current price, it would be a Leica killer.
If you expect exceptional photos from a camera I’ve got bad news for you. This is one day of photography. I would expect exceptional street photos once or twice a year if I’m lucky. That’s how difficult good street photography is. Thanks for the video!
There’s always rich and poor, and everything is relative. There’s a few street photographers using Leicas living paycheque to paycheque but they love their cameras.
Oh, Cool🎉! Congratulations! We will be waiting for a review, impressions, experience and comparison with your previous cameras.😊

I’ve only had my M11-P for a week and have taken more photos than I did in a year with my old Nikon 😂
Really enjoyed your interview with Roman. Your answers to the questions were quite revealing and instructional. Have a great weekend!
What a treat: My two favourite YTubers - you and Roman and well, Faizel Westcott and a couple more. Great video.
Excellent video. I'll have to check out your interview with Roman.
Good Video and Congratulations on your new camera. If it brings you joy during the process, then it's money well spent.
What's not to like? Two nice guys with cool cameras meditating on what it means to make street art. Have fun with your new Leica. 🎉
Happy new year! Congratulations on the new camera. Lovely shots, as always. Enjoyed your interview with Roman on his channel too 👍👍
Thanks Jules!
Good video, I enjoyed the interview with Roman, nice to get a bit of insight in the photographer.
Glad you enjoyed it
Excellent …. The best art videos for me need to be relaxing to watch and yours are very chilled …
Nice one Mike.
The interview with Roman was great.
Thanks! Glad you liked it
You have a face of a happy person with that new Leica. Well done, lovely camera!
Haha glad you think so - thanks for watching

Congrats with your new camera it’s amazing I bought mine 3 weeks ago but unfortunately not had much time to take it out

Incredible work !
Finally… awesome as always…
Appreciate that
1st time here - good eye, INDEED, the mentioned shot was the best
My dream setup!
Nice video Mike!
Nicely done mate! Incredible clarity and, didn't notice too much noise
Good to hear!
Making me want to go out to shoot with my 35 lux and M11 now…. Love the light and your captures.
Have you always used manual focus or is this something you have to get used to with the M11? Not sure I'd like to be restricted. I went for the Q3 and loving it.
I used the q2 before this and by the end of using it I was manual focusing anyway, it’s more fun. So I’ve enjoyed the manual experience of the M
Do some night photography. I think you would enjoy it. Great video as always.
love the shot at 7:30. Has a Son of Man ( René Magritte) vibe to it

We might have mentioned the m11s in Lisbon. JP shoots with one.
I’ll have a test with 36 and 60. See what the difference is like :)

Did you consider the 35mm APO over the Summilux or was it always going to be the Summilux?
It was originally going to be the summicron haha
First 😂
The Leica Q is definitely a gateway drug lol
Absolutely is 😂
Bring that to Portugal!
Thanks for the video! How do you cope with focusing? Besides the price tag that ghost image focusing on Leicas was driving me mad therefore they never were an option... 🤷🏻♂️
I really enjoy the focusing. I talk more about this in my next video :)
8:13 do you use left and right eye for the viewfinder? Never seen that before 👀
Nah always right eye. It’s because I was being filmed so just posing with it 😂
Very nice video
What about the C2PA Feature built in ?

Argumentum ad hominem
People are attacked who presented an argument and not the argument they presented.
Without further ado!
I still can’t get my head round the cost of this camera and lens - nor can you even flip the screen to protect it!
what is your workflow, choice of a colour profile etc. ? Thanks 🙂
I’ll do a video all about that!
So this camera is 60MP. Do you shoot at 60 or 36 or less?
Nice investment. Well done young man.
Nice .. you got a new sub ….
Thanks Dean! Appreciate that
go to 🇯🇵!!
wow, what us needed now is the right outfit and matching hat. You have arrived as a photog, btw are you a dentist?

It would absolutley not be appropriate to not get a coffee with a Leica and not share the image
Exactly!
Sorry, but nothing exceptional in the photographs with your Leica ! The camera price constructs the Leica myth?

its the only bullshit camera 😊
yeah yeah, we know you're rich 🙄
Having a few grand to spend on a camera does not mean you’re rich. Iam definitely not rich and own a red and multiple cameras. daft comment champ.
Maybe he just had a good year at work and managed his financials well enough to afford this.
