Dave, for a “non-street photographer” you did great. The thing about street photography, perspective is everything. Because you’re a landscape photographer, you will see things an everyday street photographer might not see and vice versa. Also, when visiting an unfamiliar city you will take photos of everything and that’s okay. London’s a great city to shoot but I’m biased and think NYC is better but I’m an East coast boy so it is what it is. Since you’re in the Bay, go to LA and do some street. It’s a great city for it as well. Practice, practice, practice. Keep shooting.
Hey, This is by far one of the best street photography videos on youtube. No tech talk, lots of photos and for me a very exciting choice of locations. I've known London for over 30 years and spend a few weeks a year there, but mostly I go to the East End, Brixton or Hackney. On my next visit I will venture into the city :-) Have fun
Great work guys! London is an awesome place for street photography, I just returned from there and I now I understand why people love the city for photography so much
I can’t believe it! A few weeks back when I was watching your video from Glacier National Park I wished to be there with you. But it’s a long way from UK. And now you are here😅 I wish I could join you in London, I live just 1h away. But I’m bad in street photography as I love nature. Currently I’m in Snowdonia,Wales with my Q2. You inspired me with your travel video!👍🏽👍🏽 Have a great time in UK. I find London always very inspiring ✌🏽📸
Great video Dave, some of my favourite RUclipsrs there!! If I’d have paid attention to your insta posts I’d have come down to join you, next time maybe. My pick of your photos were the ones through the little window❤
Having lived in London for over a decade before moving to New Zealand, I have to say, Dave, you nailed it. The images are great, you should be really happy with them. Great video.
That would have been mint to meet up! Loved watching this and Mike and his work is just amazing. Thank you for sharing this! Next time come up north to more bad weather
First time in London took my Leica to the Ally Pally for the darts. Just had it with me because I had been out all day with it. Nothing is scarier than a drunk snowman carrying two pitchers of beer over my head when I had my Leica M in a jacket pocket.
To be honest, I thought Jude Law was sitting at 7:56 on the bench :D Great video seeing you guys all come together and hang out! I basically follow every person in this video :D
The pub window shots remind me when I was was in Italy with my Q3 this summer. Obviously we spent quite a bit of time in the Museums, particularly in Florence, Venice, and Rome. It was very hot and the museums all had the windows open, and there are only so many shots of sculptures and paintings and people you can take, but I noticed that those windows framed some incredible views of the surrounding cities. So I went from window to window taking shots of the view, and the inside surrounding the window. Im editing that stuff now and am going to print a series.
Looked like you had a great time, the light around the Bank of England looked amazing, unfortunately it wasn’t anything like that when I was last there but got a few candid people shots of them coming out of Bank Underground Station. Wish I could get to London more often but living up in Manchester it’s not easy, not when you’re on a tight budget but I hope to get there before , or just after Christmas. Good to see you hanging out with some of the guys I’ve watched on here since they started, especially Mike and James, I’ve not managed to get to London when there’s been a Meet Up on but hopefully soon. Looking forward to your next video.
Cool video - nice to see a bunch of dudes having fun and doing something you enjoy. And yeah, that photo of you is great. James is a heck of a photographer, so not surprised you enjoyed his book. Everyone should check out his YT channel. Loads of great content.
Great video with all my favourite RUclips photographers , I'm glad you enjoyed yourself in London despite getting COVID The banksy you were looking for in Brick lane is on the railway bridge that goes over the road
So basically, it was a Coffee walk with some photos taken here and there? 😂 just kidding. A great video! I love every bit of it. I think I would be overwhelmed too. Just so much to take in.
Hey, love your videos! Im a retired wedding photographer and now I’ll be shooting personal work with black and white film. In the next month I’ll be buying a Leica MP. I already have a 35mm 1.4 Nokton classic. Which other focal length do you recommend for street/architecture photography?
I think if you have a 35 you’re set, and if you just wanted one other lens you could go wider at 28 or tighter at 50. Anything more than 50 won’t be for street really, and wider than 28 would shrink things down too much.
@@davidherring awesome! thanks for the advice. Plan on any trips in the spring? Now that I'm retired I'd like to do a little traveling for street photography with others in the community. I'll be driving to Northwest coast in the spring. Never been to Seattle or Portland. Then driving the the coast to SF
love it dude, The next time let me know and if i dont have any photo session i will going to meet all of you in person. Maybe you are going to visit spain, well let me know, will be a pleasure. Hugs
I'm fascinated by how you can both shoot the video and simultaneously stay in the moment as a stills photographer. Maybe one day you'll do an explainer video.
Great video, just not a fan of Mike Chudley, especially when he says, " If the light is good, you might get a good picture." That's why his pics are awful! It's all about composition, i feel he is too focused on gear, especially Leica.
Mike is an incredible photographer and has a keen eye for things happening in a chaos of people. Additionally, nearly every video on my channel has the word “Leica” in the title so your comment is probably more about me than Mike.
@grimfist79 exactly! Soo full of clichés, I just want to see originality... but that's my point he is new to Leica and in my view most people that are new to Leica feel they can just pick it up and shoot like HCB lol without RUclips most of these " photographers" would be none existent
LOVING all the collab going on with photographers on RUclips... you guys are the best
Thanks!
Lovely meeting up for the brief walk it was great to hang out with everyone :) ! glad you are feeling much better now too
Thanks! So glad you came out!
Thank you so much for shouting out Street Tools dude! Big love, you da best

It was awesome to meet these guys!
Great to see you guys hanging out. Shame about the rain but, hey, it's London so there's always a warm pub nearby!
The pubs help with the rain for sure!

It was an awesome trip.... except COVID.
So nice Dave, love the photos you got!

Great adventure in London!! Hope you’re feeling better!

Good to see that you made London and the photos you got.
It was awesome. Can’t wait to go back!
@davidherring now I've subscribed to your email and IG, I'll know when you are coming
What a day. I would have chosen Covid if that’s what I took! I’ll have to catch the next one fella. You got to see a lot. Happy for you. J

@joseuribe430 hosting a meetup in the desert of CA in Feb, and teaching a workshop in the fall in Wyoming. Those are the current plans for 2025.
Saul Leiter vibes on the shots through the windows in the pub! Hope the COVID didn’t dampen your enthusiasm for the UK.

Soho, Cafe Vins!

You should come to Gothenburg, Sweden. Also called little London..😮 great for Streetphotography.
You don't scare me. I'll show up.
If you're stopping by Paris, let us know! By the way, I'm from SF too.

Love to have meet up in London. I don't do twitter unfortunately
Oh man, next time! It was posted on Instagram 24hrs in advance. I don’t use Twitter either.
The street photography captured and shown here are just, if I dare say it…pedestrian…
A bit.
Travel Street Photography!!!

No need to attack anyone guys, photos are subjective after all. I like Mike’s photos.
RUclips bros imitating other RUclips bros. Generic RUclips photography. Destination nowhere.
This is what you concluded and chose to comment?
The "Leica Crew"? You don't need a Leica to take meaningless, pointless images and litter the SM with them. Sorry!
