Hi! Again, absolute magic. You never cease to amaze me. Your humility is truly admirable and shows that you are a real artist in the truest sense of the word. Thank's for the teachings!
If I had any sort of money I would have you on retainer as my cinematographer so I'd always have you available whenever I had a project in the works. It's not just your images, but also the way you reason. Thank you for a great video!
Great video, Mike! Switching up your focal length to come out of a rut makes total sense! 1. The intro music is just wow! 2. 2:29 Brilliant 👌 3. I recently mentioned in a comment in one of your other videos that I was looking to simplify my setup and I bought a Voigtlander 40mm 2.8 manual lens that is my default lens now :) Still getting used to manual focus and getting sharp photos, but I'm pretty happy with the initial results. 4. 8:04 - 8:27 I just love how you hung out by a Billiards Bar and presented it in different perspectives! 5. 12:09, 14:23, 16:24 oof 🔥 Finally, huge fan of your music choices! And I like your idea of putting together the video footage, playing it and selecting music to fit it! Maybe I'll try Musicbed too haha
Appreciate the thorough reply! Means a lot. Thanks for taking the time to put timestamps at your favorite parts/photos. I love my Voigtlander 28, maybe I should try the 40mm 🤔🤔 I honestly didn’t even know there was such a thing
I hope you continue to implement a 90mm into your work. The photos were beautiful, gritty works of art. As a Saul Leiter fan my, I could definitely see his influence in your work with the window reflections and colors.
Very, very inspiring video. Your pictures are great. Editing and music are excellent. I've been able to take something away from almost every video you've made so far. My favorite channel next to Eduardo Ortiz's.✌🏼
Thank you so much! I’m so happy you are taking away something from them. Means more than you know. I love Eduardo Ortiz channel too. Patiently waiting for his next one haha
That small camera bag in this video was just a cheap little fanny pack type thing I got in some market in Chinatown. For more serious sessions, I use a Peakdesign 6L Sling or Wotancraft 7L bag.
Thank you! I shot everything on a Sony A1. Intro and most footage aside from talking head, lens b-roll, and otherwise labeled clips were shot with the 90mm lens talked about in the video. I use PP8 (S-log 3) and DaVinci + Dehancer to color grade. Use Adobe Lightroom for photo editing. Hope that helps!
It is really hard to find videos on youtube talking about ~85mm lens for street photography. I meant there are some, but not nearly as good as yours. I have seen so many influencers only use this focal length to shoot boring looking street "portraits". Your shots have so many kinds of good compositions for this focal length as well as color grading.
Thanks so much for that! It was definitely a challenge for me as I talked about in the video. I’m glad you enjoyed the way I composed stuff though. I was actually a little in my head about it lol. 🥴
@@AlexandreHebertChevalier thanks friend. I started to watch his channel when he only had single thousand of subscribers. I bought the same 85 1.8 lens as his. I think his composition skill stopped growing for a while. Don’t get me wrong, I still subscribe and watch his videos. But his composition and color is not nearly as great as this man.
Damn get out of my head! A lot of your work reminds me of Saul Leiter and I was always confused about your preference for 28mm when he was known for using a longer focal length around 90-150 and then you drop this 😮
Thanks! I guess because it’s more low-key. No free promotional advertising, no focus on branding, in a perfect world, *maybe* makes it appear more beat up to a would-be thief. I just like blacked out gear, cars, clothes tbh
12:28 I thought you did a good job with the 90mm, your right you have to think differently about the composition but that's ok. This image I've stopped your video at I'm thinking these images look more like 135mm not 90mm so that would be roughly 200mm, it can be done, I use a 135mm 1935 Leica lens and I would say this lens would produce this look. Hope you find a 135mm.
it will always look like a 90, sometimes it's just a crop but it makes no difference in compression.... At best you won't see the issues on the wider ends like chromatic/geometric aberrations or lack of sharpness...
This video itself is simply art, the pictures are magic
Ahh thanks so much. Means more than you know

Thank you so much for the support! Really appreciate it
Dude, your cinematography is stunning! I love the approach to this video. I’m going to go out with my 90mm now. Thanks for the motivation.

Haha. Thanks so much!! Really appreciate that. I’m too nervous to take on video work still 😂
A new video
Thanks so much for that! I struggled a bit with this video so such feedback helps a lot and keeps me motivated to experiment more. 🙏🙏
5:19 The Sigma, 90mm, f2.8, dg dn, contemporary is a beautiful lens!
It really is

Really appreciate that! I’ve been carrying it with me since I made this video and it’s definitely came in handy a bunch of times already
Loved this video and the video/photo montages. Beautiful. Also going to look into the sigma lens, really cool with such a compact 90mm
Thanks so much for watching. Glad you liked it 💯
Great work as usual. Always looking forward to your next video!
Means so much!
OMG this turned out soooo good! the intro is so mesmerizing
Thank you so much. Your help and support through these projects means a lot ♥️🥹🫂

Haven’t seen it yet but knowing your stuff I had to pull this up on my TV and not my phone
That’s the way!
I watched the interview you did with Roman, your work is amazing. Great video, looking forward to more.
Thanks for taking the time to watch!
The best there is!

Worth waiting for your video n photos, so inspiring. Slow n love music too

super clean. color grading is very nice too.
Thanks so much!
The b-roll in this video is 10/10
I too love a good piece of trash 😅
Thanks man! Life gets a whole lot more interesting when you see beauty in things like garbage lol
Amazing video and photo work as always! I'd love to have set up with different focal lengths for photos but all i got right now is my x100v.
Thanks! Still an amazing camera to work with 🙌
👏🏻awesome perspective
Thanks man! Hope all is well 🙌✌️
Very nice video with lovely photos. Would you please give details about the small camera bag that you use to keep your lenses. Thanks

That's a great video. Thank you. Out of curiosity , what was the intro shot on? And which PP did you use or presets?

You might want to check out Adrien Sanguinetti's channel, he has a bunch of 85mm street photography videos with an A7IV and his shots are so sick!

@@老实人-g9n I bought that 85mm as well, I agree with you and i've been following him for a long while too. He still has a lot more skills than I do 😄

Haha! Yeah it’s hard to do Leiter-esque photo with wide angles lenses. I still have a hard time seeing that way 🥴 150mm would be insane lol
Great video! Thanks
Thanks for watching 🙌
appreciate your art, good stuff.
@@toshiiscrazy thank you! 💯
2:29 is insane.
🙌🙌
great work as always Mike!
Means a lot, Omar!
Inspiring. Thank You 🤩👍🏻
Thank YOU
Is there any danger you might lose your layering skill? Great video 🤩
lol I still feel like I need to work on my layering. Getting there!
Love the photos! So what’s the tape on the logo for?

damn your work is so good :) great video
Too kind! 🙌
The whole point of shooting with a telephoto lens is to isolate subjects and create "cleaner" more focused shots, right?
Oh man, I wanted this lens to be a well kept secret 😅
It’s okay I don’t have that kind of influence lol
@ phew 😮💨

Beautiful video. BTW, 51MP/(1.5)^2=23MP
Oops. I’m reading that it somehow gives me a 21mp image…idk where I got 33 from. Dang, good to know when I’m doing that lol
