I bought my Series 6 (44mm, cellular) last week, for $260 refurbished. It works great, it’s my first smartwatch (if you don’t count the original Pebble), and it’s the only watch I’ve worn where the straps can be comfy enough for me to sleep in. Waking up is worth the price alone. It’s like a gentle sound while someone gently shakes your wrist in an upbeat attitude.

As a health care professional, you have a good point in the o2 censor. To be fair, each machine we use in the hospital is not gonna be the same number for each machine. It’ll be off by about 1-3 point value. Afib can be determined by checking your pulse and if it’s irregular, it may be afib, sinus rhythm with PACs, PVCs or something else. These techs are nice to have, but it would be cooler if they have a BP measurement device like Samsung though I understand that’s not 100%🤷🏽♂️

Two things which make the 6 better for me is the screen brightness and the battery charge time. I don't give a flip about 02 but the ECG is important since I'm dealing with a cardio symptom I need to watch. Otherwise the SE is awesome.
I’m an ED medic. I look forward to additional patients arriving in the context of winter pressures and COVID worrying about low sats they’ve done on their wrist. That said, if it catches even one person who would have suffered without I guess it’s worth it

i'm an RN. i guess the accuracy of O2 sat reading on the wrist might vary from person-to-person and subject to a few other factors, such as the placement and stability. i've tried the fingertip method and using an actual pulse ox, and they both consistently gave the exact same readings i get from my wrist, given that i place my wrist on my lap or a table for better stability. hopefully people use the apple watch series 6's pulse ox feature the way it should be and won't be flooding our ERs with falsely low O2 sats. LOL.
I think it's true in this case. He needs to push it a bit further up his arm. For Fitbits, they recommend placing it 1 to 2 fingers above your wrist bone.
The series 7 is a kludge to get the newer display and its accompanying glass to fit into a series 6 case. No changes in the computing hardware. I went for an SE on a two-year plan. Don't need EKG and the pulse oximeter is not consistently accurate compared to a fingertip mounted unit. I really just wanted a heart rate monitor.
I think I wanna get the se for my mom. She’s always wanted a smart watch and as an occupational therapist it’d be really useful for her but since she went to college while she was a mom she didn’t have any money. Now I’m in college & all I can say is I can’t wait to surprise her :)

i'm an RN. i guess the accuracy of O2 sat reading on the wrist might vary from person-to-person and subject to a few other factors, such as the placement and stability. i've tried the fingertip method and using an actual pulse ox, and they both consistently gave the exact same readings i get from my wrist, given that i place my wrist on my lap or a table for better stability. hopefully people use the apple watch series 6's pulse ox feature the way it should be and won't be flooding our ERs with falsely low O2 sats. LOL.

I think it's true in this case. He needs to push it a bit further up his arm. For Fitbits, they recommend placing it 1 to 2 fingers above your wrist bone.

The series 7 is a kludge to get the newer display and its accompanying glass to fit into a series 6 case. No changes in the computing hardware. I went for an SE on a two-year plan. Don't need EKG and the pulse oximeter is not consistently accurate compared to a fingertip mounted unit. I really just wanted a heart rate monitor.

I think I wanna get the se for my mom. She’s always wanted a smart watch and as an occupational therapist it’d be really useful for her but since she went to college while she was a mom she didn’t have any money. Now I’m in college & all I can say is I can’t wait to surprise her :)
