No one in all the videos don't show the way the mode gear from the big fork goes in a lot of people put it in the wrong way and fuck shit up thank you for showing the proper way it's installed.
Thank you so much. I enjoyed the video. My transfer case is making a clunk noise and I checked to see if it was the cross joints and they look really good considering the age of my 99 Ford expedition. That's when I realized it must be the chain in side the transfer case. Thank a million.
Are you having issues shifting this case in 4Lo? Looks like the nylon pads are missing from the Shift Mode fork when you reassembled... Thought the Oil pump had to be on the outside, too, at least on the NP231j
pumps on the outside for 231/241D/dhd, the center slip collar in his planet set was missing a snap ring on the back side, as mentioned missing snap ring on pilot bearing of tail housing, was missing shift fork pads, missing top spring thrust cup. if you do your own, print off an exploded diagram and make sure to double check what goes where. sucks to get it back in only to realize you missed a thrust washer or some shit
@@winchester37a There is a lot of noise and looseness in the transfer case so I assume it's the chain although it may also be the bearings. I have never found a 3rd party manufacturer of the chain so this is why I am looking for a new chain supplier.
i think you should watch other vids before atempt,it aint srteight so it aint going, little gear can be put in after.why not fully rebuild it seeing its out.,??>

I have a 242j in a 2002 Jeep Liberty. Have you ever seen the chain get loose enough to slip?
You figure out if the tcase chain was slipping? I have a 2007. Either the front diff or tcase is clunking steadily.
And the nice thing is you can do this with case in the jeep.😃😃😃😃

What model car is this for, or does it matter?
Can I pull the chain and get a few more miles out of a failing t case?
Educational . Thanks.
My transfer case has a hole in the same location. Any idea how that happen?
Hi friend. I have a np203 on a 78' Chevy. Where can I buy a new chain for this transfer case? Thank you!
I have the same exact model, is it still doing good for you? Did you change the belt

@@sandhollowhomestead6972 look at lmc, they had some unless they are sold out
I'm new to having a 4x4(2011 sierra 4.8L -manual tcase).. Is it normal to be able to hear the chain movement from the case when accelerating?
It’s loose
For what vehicle exactly
I literally think the chain actually broke ? On my ram
Hell yeah.
I take it the chain cannot be changed with the case on the truck?
Depends what vehicle it is and if there's enough room to do so, but you can on a lot of the jeeps.
Awesome
Thanks man
