The Blue Comet. One of the best, but hardest episodes of the series. Bobby just missing the phone call. I remember sitting silent for a while when I watched this live. I hate that this is almost over. Love these two. Perfect couple.
Bobby getting killed is one of the only upsetting killings in the show. It's not like he was ever an aggressor - they whacked him because he was loyal & trustworthy, not dangerous.
Paulie instigated the hits on Bobby and Sil with his incompetent move on Phil. Once Phil and his crew saw the paper it would have been clear to them that it was kill or be killed. You miss your shot...then your opponent takes his.

BTW Asia and BJ… *NEW YORK* has *FIVE FAMILIES* that the small *NEW JERSEY* Crew has to report to in real life. For whatever reason this show basically left the other 4 NY families out of it. NJ can’t do anything without going through NY or they’d be toast.
The Soprano's are based on the Decavalcante family, they aren't under any of the 5 families of New York so don't have to report to them. Most of the 5 families have their own crews in jersey and some of them alone are now bigger than the Decavalcantes. The Genovese and Lucchese New Jersey factions are the most powerful families in Jersey now, they are almost their own families with bosses and a lot of independence from their families in New York. Then you have the Philadelphia Mobs jersey faction who are very powerful in south jersey, including Atlantic city.
I think the greatest thing about the show is having Tony as a protagonist that is in therapy, healing wounds and other systemic issues from his childhood. And despite how charming, charismatic, magnetic, and conscientious that he might be at times, but he is a sociopath. He is is not a likable person. In fact, none of them are. And the show is really about the generational trauma and consequences that come from being in a family like this. Tony cares about his family, but everything is about Tony. He also manipulates with the truth. Yes, he has an attack, he has all of these issues. He’s trying to unravel, but he’s not really that interested in getting better. And he doesn’t want anyone else who grew up with him to heal emotionally and mentally as well. That was quite evident with Janice and the anger management. He purposely provoked her using hurtful things. I think if you two go back and watch the show in a couple of years, you will not view Tony the same as you did in this binge watch experience. Because he’s a pretty horrible person.
If you guys want to re visit the show in a great way after it’s done Michael Imperioli (who played Christopher) and Steve Schirripa (who played Bobby) made a podcast on RUclips a few years ago called Talking Sopranos. Whether it was an internal decision or not, Tony had to pay a price for the way he’d lived.

Also I think that in the end Tony is out of charachter, when they say that he can't bring pizza inside. Because usually he likes to argue but in here he just looks defeated.
