Just wanted to drop in and say that from a rules and teaching perspective that was a flawless presentation. It's very rare that there isn't at least a little bit of a small rules miss here or there (which is completely understandable), but you really nailed it. Poor Sheila though!
That is awesome to hear. Thanks so much for that feedback and thanks for checking out the video. I'm always afraid I've missed something, usually due to the stress of filming. I'm kicking myself that it took so long to table this. I loved it. I can't wait to play more. I definitely need to control that horror track better. Thanks again!
@@TotallyTabled So you did! He didnt leave the house, I never played this board and the guy was still in the house. I didnt realize it was even possible for them not to run away. My bad - Excellent play!
Actually, at 29:21, the one victim in the house with Dr Fright shouldn't panic again? Because Dr Fright didn't kill any one in that round? Correct me if I am wrong.
I just watched the video again after beating Dr. Fright for the first time. Love this video! To anyone struggling, I've found that letting the killer attack you to get to your last heart can really improve your chances of eeking out a victory once you're close to ending the game. If you can get Retaliate as well, you can really turn the tables in a thematic final twist!
That's great advice and a wonderful, thematic conclusion to the game. I've had several great endings in Final Girl -- usually tragic endings but still exciting and cinematic. Thanks so much for checking out the video!
Fantastic - The ambience setting, music, and super high quality production. I absolutely love your channel. My daughter and I just got this in - and we have it all set up. Watching your playthrough made it super clear. Thank you! Keep on making this content - we're all noticing how great it is!
You really made me smile today, Joellen. Thanks for that. I'm so happy you enjoy the channel and find it a valuable resource. I hope you and your daughter have a great time playing the game together!
Best playthrough/rules video I've seen in a while. Nice work nailing the rules! I've tried "Rolling" through some other popular "Solo" playthrough channels and they just can't seem to get the rules right, drives me nuts! I really enjoyed this video! I'll for sure check out your other content and would love some more Final Girl scenarios.
Thanks for the compliment Brandon. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I put a lot effort into getting things right, but I've made a ton of mistakes in many of my playthroughs. Sometimes I catch them in editing so I can address it, sometimes I don't. The reasons creators make rules mistakes in video are many: first, most plays of a board game will have a mistake nobody notices; second, solo players have nobody there to catch mistakes; and third, creators are very distracted by tech issues, filming, audio, trying to teach, trying to be entertaining, etc. Unless you've tried it, you won't understand how hard it is. It is why so few creators make playthrough videos. You open yourself up to so much criticism -- especially around rules and strategy mistakes. And the people who are most critical don't realize that their home games are filled with unnoticed mistakes. Don't believe me? Post your play online and you'll find out. Mistakes will always be a part of board gaming and we can only do our best to minimize them. Thanks for watching!
I'm happy you enjoyed the video and found it helpful! I hope you have fun with Final Girl. I've had a blast so far and really need to get it back to the table. Thanks so much for checking out the playthrough!
Your playthroughs have helped me a lot! Every time after I bought a game, I came straight to your channel to watch the playthroughs first. Thank you so much!
Thank you for taking the time to share such a nice comment, Ginny. Hearing this really makes me happy. Board game playthroughs are difficult to make and don't get as many views as other types of content, but I really believe, when done well, they are the best way to learn board games. Hearing that you consider my videos useful is gratifying. Thanks for continuing to support the channel. I really appreciate your viewership!
This was the most clearly explained rules play through I've seen for FG. Fantastic job, I'll definitely be checking out more of your videos. I had one rules question. At the of the asleep boiler room reveal, 43:25, you said you could have done more boiler room cards if you wanted to. I thought you could choose how many you wanted to do in the action phase but only one can be done at the end of the killer phase. Thanks again for the great video. As a new solo gamer it was exactly what I needed.
Ha, thanks Cy616! If I were you, I'd still watch The Thing or something, but I'm glad my Final Girl playthrough made the cut. 😂 Have a great 🎃. I've got a Bloody Inn playthrough coming on Halloween too, so even more horror to come! Thanks again.
I should be receiving this game in December. You really have to be willing to lose a lot from what I hear, but then when you do win, it's so much sweeter. Thanks for the playthrough! It helped to see the flow of the game. 👍👍
The video quality was superb. Good job. The music on the dark power reveal was epic. My note about your play strategy is that you should have eaten the damage from the Killer's attack instead of using your Pitchfork's ability: that would have brought you down to your final health token, which would have given you the extra "last stand" dice for your following turn - selecting to keep the additional health, instead of the Item, led to you having the single dice rolls, which really hindered your ability to take effective actions on your final turn.
Man, it feels like you had some real bad luck with those roles! I preordered this at the beginning of the year, hoping it will arrive before the year is out!
Not really. I didn't manage the horror track and I should have bought the retaliate card at the end. I was slightly unlucky with that last terror card draw, but it was too late anyway. I hope you enjoy the game when it arrives. Thanks for watching, Rob!
Thanks for a really well-made playthrough video, I picked up the core set and this pack the other day and this video helped me understand how Endless Sleep works and also reiterated how some other mechanics worked. I played a couple games last night and lost both times, partly because I forgot that discarding 2 cards bumped up a 3-4 roll to a guaranteed 5-6 right away rather than gave you a chance to reroll, I had some abysmal rolls because of this and lost pretty quickly. Thanks so much again, keep up the great work with the helpful videos!
That is great to hear! I'm happy my playthrough helped. Good luck beating the Dream Doctor. Let us know how it goes. And thanks for checking out the video!
@@TotallyTabled Also wanted to mention, in the second game I got a really good combination of events, where I got an event which added four extra victims to one of the houses, then the 4th July event, then the next event I pulled was Officer Kopp so that even if I hadn’t saved anyone, I could have filled the Final Girl card in one go when it got to the other end of the street.
This was a great play-through as far as teaching the game, but some choices had me scratching my head! One critical point was when you moved to the killer space with your boyfriend. I was like “buy Retaliate… buy Retaliate!” You could have prevented damage, done damage, and kept the Pitchfork! Whenever I win it seems Retaliate always helps at some point.
Yep, you are definitely right. I kind of overlooked retaliate, not sure why. But it seems super useful and I will be using it a lot in the future. Thanks for watching, interstellardave!

Great playthrough, top notch with the rules and stuff, it was nice to watch, great quality. I would just add one thought you might have done to survive maybe a bit longer. On the last Terror card, when it did 2 attack on you, and you we're at 4 life. Just take the first attack, lose 3 life, then be at your last heart token. That way, when you use the guard for the second attack, you would have a third dice to resolve the Guard since you would have been at your last heart. Probably wouldn't have changed much, but we never know !
I'm watching your playthroughs for a while now and I love them, but I must say, I always thought I was unlucky with dice but you beat me, your bad luck is legedary!

Loved your playthrough. Just had my first of this setup so I checked this video to clarify some rules. First thing I think you forgot was that when your boyfriend dies is your space you should have got 12 time for your next time which is very thematic. He dies to save you so you can get away/get time. My question is does a convince card count as a movement. If I'm standing outside a house can I use convince to get in or do I have to move then convince? Hope you can answer. Great job
Yes, if you are outside the house in the space next to the driveway, convince will let you move into the house. You don't need to spend a move card. Thanks so much for watching!

At 34:50 should fright have killed both victims since he does 3 damage? Or does he only kill 1 victim per attack regardless of damage value. I’ve been playing that he would have killed both.
In the 2nd round: did you not have to place an "X" token on the house after taking the item? Or did that not count as a successful search, even though you got an item?
@@TotallyTabled i wouldn't have caught it but I just bought the game and spent the last 3 days reading the instructions over and over. This video really helped me get through my first few playthroughs. I made a lot of rules errors myself and still got demolished by Dr. Fright every time. Fun game!
Just to say, in the third round you messed up. Victims will NOT follow you if you have a weapon in your hands. You should have moved it to your backpack in the previous Upkeep Phase. Therefore, you could not have saved them.
@@TotallyTabled Oh I see. I swear I saw it on a walkthrough video, so I guess they got it wrong. Thanks for clarifying though - I'd been moving my weapon to my backpack all the time!

At 34:50 should fright have killed both victims since he does 3 damage? Or does he only kill 1 victim per attack regardless of damage value. I’ve been playing that he would have killed both.
I did it right. He only attacks one victim per attack icon and extra damage is lost. Thanks for watching!
@@TotallyTabled jeez, I've been making it hard on myself lol. Thanks!
@@pilot4701 Hey, at least all your wins are still legit! Have fun!
In the 2nd round: did you not have to place an "X" token on the house after taking the item? Or did that not count as a successful search, even though you got an item?
You are right. You can only get one item from each house, so I should have put an x token there to remind me. Thanks!
@@TotallyTabled i wouldn't have caught it but I just bought the game and spent the last 3 days reading the instructions over and over. This video really helped me get through my first few playthroughs. I made a lot of rules errors myself and still got demolished by Dr. Fright every time. Fun game!
@@Cory_Springer I'm happy my video helped! Good luck and have fun!
Just to say, in the third round you messed up. Victims will NOT follow you if you have a weapon in your hands. You should have moved it to your backpack in the previous Upkeep Phase. Therefore, you could not have saved them.
That isn't a rule.
@@TotallyTabled Oh I see. I swear I saw it on a walkthrough video, so I guess they got it wrong. Thanks for clarifying though - I'd been moving my weapon to my backpack all the time!

Thanks, man!
Very useful video thank you 👧🥾🔪 😢
I'm so glad it helped! Thanks for checking out the playthrough!
