The same thing happened to me recently and Ebay seems complicit with it. Even though the delivery was to a different zip code, Ebay refused to acknowledge that it wasn't delivered to me and started talking about freight forwarding. Buyers need to get together and sue them.
I had the same scam with laundry detergent from a seller with zero feedback and Ebay refunded me. I told them I called Fed Ex who told me the item was sent to someone in my zip code and on Fed Ex website was a picture of a small bubble mailer on a porch with a blue door. I have a burgundy door and the 10 pound large liquid laundry detergent obviously could not fit inside a bubble mailer. The seller you had is a horrible person so stop saying he's not that bad. ebay better get it together and suspend sellers like this and should file charges to get the word out that mail fraud on ebay can result in jail time. Ebay is weak and probably will do nothing

i dont recommended shop at ebay store to many shit sellers. I did order small item and no tracking number just mark shipped, estimated delivery ended the item never come to me. And also other item i did order estimated delivery march 29 to march 30 no tracking number too, will se tomorrow will be come to me or not haha.
I'm going through the same thing at the moment. The seller hasn't sent me the tracking number and keeps giving excuses. How can I go about it. The item has already shown dispatched but I can't comfirm that because there's no tracking number. Its so frustrating.
Seller in Israel? So was mine! I didn't order anything but was charged $250 for a usb volt tester that couldn't weigh over a few ozs, package showed 46lbs. i canceled it immediately,oops to late it's already shipped After back an forth with seller i had ebay step in, package was delivered to my zip code - case closed. The ONLY WAY to get your money back is call your bank's fraud department and let them look into it. The lady shocked me when she said they tried to buy high dollar items but my funds were to low. She said herself it's clearly fraud and would turn it over to Visa to do the investigation. My money was back in my account that evening.
my GF works at the post office over 20 years. As the buyer you can ask the PO to provide proof of delivery, delivery scan info, which is GPS tagged, and it will show not to your address. I beat a scammer while ebay was thinking about ruling against me. I asked them to get the scan info, and when it wasn't my address I won.
i keep running into a similar scam on aliexpress. they send the item to someone else in my state. I confronted them and they apologized and said they sent me the wrong tracking number and asked me to cancel my refund request. I told them I would cancel the request once the item arrives if I remember lol. my memory is not that good. ive gotten a bunch of stuff for free this way.
eBay eventually refunded after proof about the scam was put into their faces and many phone calls. The scam is pretty ingenious and it’s funny that the sellers are in this case were in Israel and they know how to screw around with the USA people living here. I think the seller in Israel we had worked with somebody in the USA to send the stuff around Anyway it’s done. I don’t think this happens that often but it happens and it’s irritating.

I would have looked at the sellers feedback and where they sell from.

You have to call eBay, you'll get the money back
Sadly there isn't any working number for ebay and there really should be!
