  • • Who would've thought eBay, the grandpa of selling platforms, is the rebel that lets buyers pay fashionably late?
    • Crazy, right? No need to lose your marbles though - as a seller, you hold the power to speed up those payments.
    • eBay's promising to join the "pay now" trend soon, but in the meantime, here's how you can cash in quicker.

Thanks Gary! That answers my question perfectly. I think the business option is only for ebay stores and I don't have one yet since I'm still new at this. I liked you advice to send an invoice daily to those who haven't paid. I was going to do that tonight but didn't have to because she paid before I got home. 😁 Excellent points in this video!!

Always MY pleasure. I'm glad it helped.
By the way, eBay's term for "Business Policies" is a little misleading. You don't need a store to begin using them. You can have a personal eBay account to use them.
I'll soon do a step-by-step video explaining why they are SO helpful. They change everything for eBay sellers in a good way.
Until then, carry on and keep listing daily to help ensure daily sales!

Oh, I’d like to learn more about that! I couldn’t find the business section you were showing on your screen so I thought it was for stores only.
      Eagerly awaiting….

Immediate payment doesn’t work for offers
People still, play dumb games sending offers and never paying

@@bdubs8620 Good news! You should see changes happening already on that front. eBay has started requiring all offers to be immediate payment required. This is not 100% across all sales for all accounts, but it is FAR better than before as I mentioned in this video. eBay has promised to take this instant-payment-requirement to auctions as well, although I suspect it will be a while before they do that.
So, send and accept offers all you want because you will see the money almost immediately! (I've found it takes one to five minutes for that immediate payment to hit your account once you accept an offer or once a buyer accepts one of your offers.)
      Thanks for watching. ~Greg

I dont want buyers to have 4 days to pay. Its ridiculous that ebay still allows that in todays technology

      Oh, you're not wrong!
As I mentioned, there's no excuse that the oldest reselling platform in existence is the only one in 2024 that doesn't require payments when somebody buys something.
I suppose, as long as they still do, being able to automate it down to just 4 days before the sale is cancelled, the buyer gets a strike, and the item relists, is better than the old manual way of checking daily and doing all that by hand.
Fortunately, they ARE moving towards instant payments as we have seen. Many offers accepted must be paid and until them the item remains for sale for other buyers who do have instant payments. Also, eBay SAYS it is working on making all auctions instant paid, although they have said that since at least the 2018 eBay Live.
Anyway, thanks for watching @merridybenton7028 and I appreciate (and agree with) your comment.
