@@SJ.77 The rosary is completely scriptural, and meditates on the life of Jesus through the eyes of His mother, who was given to us by Jesus on the Cross ("Behold your mother"). The first 300 years of Christianity was underground, everything was oral tradition. When you base your whole belief on "Sola Scriptura" you are missing out on the teachings of the early church. The Rosary is not "vain repititions", it is chanting Holy Scripture while meditating on the life of Jesus. Hope that helps you understand the power of the rosary.

While some of the prayer of the rosary is scriptural, the whole second half of the “Hail Mary” and portions of the “Hail, Holy Queen” are blatantly unbiblical. While the first part of the Hail Mary is almost a direct quotation from Luke 1:28, there is no scriptural basis for (1) praying to Mary, (2) addressing her as “holy,” or (3) calling her “our life” and “our hope.”
Praying the rosary involves giving attributes to Mary that the Bible never gives her. To call Mary “holy”-the Catholic Church teaches that Mary never sinned or had any taint of original sin-is not biblical. Jesus came to save us from our sins (Matthew 1:21). But is this teaching scriptural? The Roman Catholic Church openly admits that this doctrine is not found in Scripture. When a young man addressed Jesus as “good Master” (Matthew 19:16-17), Jesus asked why he called Him “good” since there is none good but one, God. Jesus was trying to make the young man aware that he was using the term good too loosely. In praying the rosary, Catholics use the term holy too loosely. No one, including Mary, is holy but God. This ties in with Romans 3:10-23, Romans 5:12, and countless other passages that stress the fact that in God’s eyes no one measures up. Never is Mary excluded from such all-encompassing statements.
But praying the rosary has an even more basic problem, namely, that much of the prayer is directed to Mary, not to God. We are never told in the Bible whether anyone else in heaven can even hear us. God alone is all-knowing, all-powerful, and all-present. When Jesus taught His disciples to pray, He taught them to address their prayers to God the Father. Every example of prayer in the Bible is addressed to God alone. There is never a single example of someone praying to any “saint” or angel or anyone else (besides prayers to false gods). Further, any time that a pious person prostrates himself (in a religious setting) to honor someone else besides God (chiefly to the apostles or angels), he is told to get up, to stop it (Acts 10:25-26; 14:13-16; Matthew 4:10; Revelation 19:10; 22:8-9). The Roman Catholic Church states that it worships God alone but “venerates” Mary and the saints. What is the difference? A person praying the rosary spends more time calling out to Mary than to God. For every one praise of God in the rosary, there are ten praises of Mary!
Praying the rosary also assigns a task to Mary that the Bible never assigns her. Jesus is our Redeemer (Galatians 3:13; 4:4-5; Titus 2:14; 1 Peter 1:18-19; Revelation 5:9), our heavenly Advocate (1 John 2:1), and our one and only Mediator (1 Timothy 2:5). The “Hail, Holy Queen” portion of the rosary prayer calls Mary our “most gracious advocate.” This is a direct contradiction of the clear biblical teaching that only Jesus is our go-between.
Praying the rosary requires Catholics to call upon Mary as the “holy Queen.” The only time in Scripture that the title “Queen of Heaven” is found, the term is used in a negative way (Jeremiah 7:17-19; 44:16-27). The Bible never pictures Mary as a queen; rather, she calls herself “the Lord’s servant” (Luke 1:38). She is never given a crown or authority over heaven and earth. Likewise, is it appropriate, while praying the rosary, to call Mary our “life” and “hope”? Again, these are terms that are used of God alone in Scripture (John 1:1-14; Colossians 3:4; 1 Timothy 1:1; Ephesians 2:12; Titus 2:13).
The practice of saying the rosary runs contrary to Scripture in a number of ways. Only God can hear our prayers. Only God can answer our prayers. We have one intermediary (Jesus), and it is in His name we pray, not Mary’s.

Raised a Catholic and partially believed in God up until 18. Became an atheist for several years, morphed into an agnostic. At the beginning of the pandemic I started to flirt with the idea of returning back to my religion. I live in Thailand and for the first time in many, many years I went to mass in a Catholic church here in Bangkok, and have been going to mass every Sunday since. I had an overwhelming nostalgic, warm feeling pass through me the first time I returned. I'm 34 and a person who resented the church for years, if someone like me can return back to my faith, its possible for anyone

forgive my intrusion. After many years away from the church I found myself in Church on Sunday for a carol service which was standing room only. Bishop Router is absolutely right about men needing to take their place in public expression of their faith. There is something about a man practicing his Christian faith openly that has the ability to move people in ways that nothing else can. I'm so grateful for the faithful women who have for centuries kept Christianity alive though teaching children, caring for the sick, living godly lives in fairly ungodly circumstances at times, AND, men can no longer sit by and ride on the coattails of their mother's, wives' or religious sister's faith, they have to make it their own. @@johanneshartman4618 Hi Johanne, I was pretty clear about my relationship with Jesus; I 'have him' and 'He has me' I can't imagine being any closer to Him. I appreciate your getting down into the details, and my guess is you're an evangelical, but saying 'yes I'm born again' does not automatically mean that one's relationship with Christ is 'right'. I'm a seminary trained (meaning I attended an Evangelical seminary) and licensed metal health provider with also a completely Christian "Born Again" client list, and I would hands down say the "Born Agains" are the least transformed, most anxious, most hypocritical and more arrogant people I ever worked with. So be very careful of the labels that the Protestant church, particularly evangelicals, likes to put on things because it can be deceiving. An authentic relationship with Christ where one's salvation is secured is called other things in other circles. My experience is that without saying the 'right phrase' then it is assumed that one is not saved. One needs to spend some time listening to another person talk about their relationship to get an actual sense of what exactly the individual is talking about. I had to learn this the hard way and MY CLIENTS taught me about my own arrogance in assuming that I knew where they were spiritually because I was listening for the 'born again' moniker. My pride was problematic. I think there will be many surprised people in heaven because they won't see some people whom they were convinced would be there, and there will be some that no one would ever think God would accept. I grew up as a young child in the 1970's and I remember us all meeting in our local park and doing decades of the Rosary in all weathers. I only returned to my faith as a Christian over the last 18 months bcos of the things that are flying in the face of God's word. I have my Rosary beads by the side of my Bed every day. I carry them with me when I go out and they stay with me always.
I'm happier now than I have been in years.
What a lot of Christians have never really understood is this.. GOD sent his only son to us to live amongst us as a human being like us. He sacrificed his only son for all humanity. To do that for me means so much as a follower of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ.
I think a lot of Christians ae finding their way back to God now bcos of the Satanic things that are being pushed across this great world of ours.
I will not deny Jesus even if it means my life now. I will sacrifice my life but I will not be doing anything evil either. They may come to kill me and tell me to turn away from God but I will never turn away now.
My faith is stronger than ever and I love all my fellow Christians and stand beside them..
